She glanced at the Prince, who was still engaging in a staring contest with Marionette, before opening the messaging app and reading what he had to say.

[Tired Prince: "Yo. Messaging will be better for your question. Just in case someone were to be recording what I say. First of all, it's because I am unfamiliar with the rest of the class besides you three. Yes, I know, very unsocial of me. Second, the voted people are either too lax or too strict. Millis, while I'm sure, she could possibly get some work done, isn't fit to work in such a... role. On the other hand, Testrie Gla Tyria is too strict. I wouldn't be able to rest with her around and overlooking me. As for you, it was partially because you wanted this role and also the fact you're lax enough to let me laze around, while also being competent enough to get things done. As well for another reason..."]

Lillian's eyes scrolled through the page of text. Her face twitched a bit at how massive it was. Couldn't he have broken this up into separate parts?

After reading it, she sent back a response.

[Me: "Is that so? How about Marionette then? I'm sure she could be good for the role as well. And another reason?"]

After a few seconds, he responded back.

[Tired Prince: "Frankly. I'm scared of her."]

Lillian looked up to find the Prince avoiding Marionette's gaze, which seemed to intensify.

[Tired Prince: "And as for the other reason... let's discuss that another time. Could you get her to look away from me now? It's unnerving."]

As Marionette continued to stare intently at the Prince, she noticed in the corner of her eye, a slice of steak hovering towards her.

Lillian held the silver fork stuck through the steak and stared at her with a playful grin.

"Say ahh~..."

Marionette stared at her strangely before opening her mouth and biting the steak off the fork.

"Thank you." she quietly muttered.

"Eh? Where was my 'ahh~'? You didn't say it..." Lillian pouted.

"... I'm not saying that." Marionette wiped her mouth with a paper towel. Lillian sighed before putting down the fork.

The next day, during tutor, Mirage called Reph and Lillian out of the room. They wandered down the long hallway that seemingly stretched on forever.

They soon reached the doors to a room. Mirage pushed and poked his head through the door, checking the inside. He then pulled out and shook his head.

He turned to the both of them and said:

"Looks like no one is here yet. So I'm going to tidy up the room. You two stay out here, alright?"

Without waiting for a reply, he went into the room and closed the door behind him. The two then waited outside of it, leaning their back against the wall.

Reph then yawned.

"Why are we here again? Did he say?"

Lillian shook her head.

"He didn't. But I think he wants to gather all the Class Representatives in one room."

Reph hummed.

"Sounds like something they would do."

After that, silence swallowed them. That was until Lillian spoke up.

"What was that reason you mentioned yesterday?"

"Hm?" Reph tilted her his head. "Oh right... the other reason..." he tapped at his chin.

He then turned towards Lillian and raised his hand, pointing his index at her. "I am going to need you to "bag" the Lady of Roses."

"Huh...?"

Lillian stared at him with a strange expression. What on earth was this man talking about? And how was this possibly related to the reason for picking her?

Perhaps she heard him wrong. He totally didn't ask her to "bag" Marionette, right?

"W-what did you say?" she asked before being met with the same response.

"I said "I am going to need you to "bag" the Lady of Roses..." I think I may that clear." he held his chin before murmuring, "Am I slurring over my words without realising?"

"Wha—no no, you're not! But... why would you ask me to do that? And how is it related?"

"Have you heard on the news about the rise of noble houses against the Royal Family recently?"

"Huh? Yeah...?" She then paused. "Wait... are you saying that the Roselle Family is going against the Royal Family?"

He tilted his head side to side with an unsure expression. "We have our speculations. Most of our family is leaning towards doubt since their family has been loyal to us for a while. But they have been showing signs and it's becoming concerning."

This was the first that Lillian heard of this. She knew the Royal Family was brought down in the future. But she didn't know it was by the Roselles.

All she knew was that they were flanked on all sides and taken apart with the unintentional assistance of monsters.

She scratched the side of her head. 'Of course... in the story, it only assisted in bonding with the Prince if you had him in your party. But honestly... 100% really doesn't get you a lot outside of the main arcs in the game.'

"And this ties into me needing to date her how?"

"Because the Family still relies on some input from the Heir. Even if the Head commands it. They're independent and over-reliant on each other." he said then after a brief delay, he continued:

"And I'd rather not risk losing my life in a hypothetical fight against someone with more biological enhancements than me."

"Biological... enhancements?"

The Prince nodded.

"If you aren't aware of the Royal Family's blood, somehow, then know that my physical characteristics are enhanced to a great degree—causing me to be an Enhanced Human."

"Yeah yeah, I know that. But does Marionette really have more than you?"

"I wouldn't have lost against her in the Entrance Exam if I had more," he said with a hint of arrogance behind his voice. But that soon disappeared with the next thing he said:

"But she would still have me beat in skill though."

Lillian sighed.

"I see... remind me. Since you're an Enhanced Human, what flaw did you receive?"

"Are you referring to the flaw that comes with the Enhancements?"

Lillian nodded. Reph stared at her silently with a pondering look, debating whether to tell her or not.

"Since most of my enhancement came from my parents, my flaw isn't as bad as it could be."

"And that would be..."

Reph sighed. "I get tired very easily."

"That's it?" Lillian tilted her head. It really wasn't as bad. Annoying yes, but not terrifyingly bad.

Reph nodded. "Yes. That's why I tend to finish my fights as quickly as possible. I'd appreciate it if you don't tell anyone about this."

"I won't. But you're quite trusting of me huh?" Lillian placed her hands on the back of her head.

The Prince shrugged. "I see no reason for you to go after me. Your family and mine are in good relations in the "work" industry."

"I suppose... so what do you think her flaw is?" Lillian tilted her head at him.

Reph shrugged. "The more enhancement you have, the more it plays on your mind and body. But I suspect her flaw actually works in her favour with her line of work."

"Are you saying her flaw makes her cold-hearted?"

"Not sure."

Lillian stared at him. The image of Marionette's face popped into her mind. She knew the woman wasn't cold-hearted. Well... not around her exactly. So that couldn't be her flaw.

She sighed and noticed in the corner of her eyes the arrival of people coming towards them—more specifically, the room.

Then a man came up to them. Lillian recognised him as one of the teachers of the Rank-C class.

"Is anyone in there?"

She nodded and as she was about to speak, Mirage came out of the room, staring at the teacher before smiling.

"Ah... you've arrived. Why so late?"

Lillian's eye twitched at his words. Wasn't this teacher of hers always the one late other than today?

The teacher scratched the back of his head.

Mirage rolled his eyes and gestured for all of them to come inside.

Inside this room was just another classroom. Reph and Lillian decided to take the front-row seats and waited as the teachers sorted out their presentation.

Mirage stood at the front and called out to all of them.

"Alright, Class Representatives. In a few day's time, everyone one of your classes will be going on a trip outside this realm."

The chalkboard behind him then opened up, folding and becoming a screen that displayed three separate locations.

"I say trip but it will be a race."

On the far left image was a forest—a normal forest. Well, it would be if it wasn't for the blurry shadows seemingly frozen in between leaps of branches.

In the middle, it was the same forest, except it looked more wicked with its grey, dry trees with no leaves. Adding to it was a sinister fog.

And finally on the far right was a beautiful waterfall. Even more so when it was taken at night due to its water having a luminescent, soft blue glow. It was like it had miniature stars trapped in its flow.

"In the next few days, you all will be having no lessons. But! You are tasked to research and prepare whatever is needed to reach the end of the Forest of Disruption."
