I Will Create a Good Ending for the Yandere Villainess-Chapter 303: Ruined Buildings?
Chapter 303: Ruined Buildings?
Lillian continued to run past and over the ruined terrain. Her eyes scanned her surroundings, eventually landing on a destroyed metal swing inside a park.
She slowed down for a brief moment before continuing. She shouldn’t let something like that slow her down.
She then ran past a certain cafe that she, Millis, and Marionette had gone to at the start of the academy. Its brick walls were destroyed, and its sign was in shambles.
Her eyes flashed with melancholy, but she couldn’t let it slow her down.
She continued to pass by buildings—familiar buildings—and kept on running towards the dorm. She needed to see how everyone was doing before reaching her objective.
And on the way, she was met with a stone knight marching and patrolling the area.
She stopped dead in her tracks, hiding behind a broken wall. She peeked out and wondered:
’Who does that belong to?’
This construct must either be a monster Shard or an elemental construct. If she recalled correctly, the cultists aren’t able to use their Shards anymore, so it must be the latter option.
She sighed, deciding to test out her new boots teleporting enchantment to get around it. It would serve as a good way to get a feel for the ability.
Peeking around the corner, she squinted her eyes, looking towards an empty spot.
She then began to slowly circulate her mana from her core towards her legs, all the way down to her boots. As she was about to send the energy into the footwear—
BOOM!
—She shuddered at the sounds of explosions in the distance.
And because of this, she accidentally activated her boots, causing her to appear right beside the stone knight, who stared down at her silently.
Lillian widened her eyes and swiped her arm at it, tearing it apart with a blade of water.
She then breathed deeply, huffing as she watched the stone remains of the stone knight clatter and crumble against the ground.
"What the hell, man!"
Lillian stiffened as she heard a familiar voice behind her. Looking back, she found a purple-haired heroine staring at her with a mix of disbelief and frustration.
It was Millis.
The Heroine stomped towards her before pointing at the remains of the stone knight with an annoyed look, "That was meh guy, Lil’! What the hell!"
Lillian held up her hands in a surrendering manner before muttering:
"I-I’m just on edge with the whole invasion, alright? Sorry about your construct, Millis..."
Millis’s irritated gaze then softened as she scratched the back of her neck. She placed her left hand on her hip and stated:
"Yeah... I guess it’s understandable to be on edge... Death and all that, y’know?" The Heroine said casually, taking a look around their surroundings.
"And destruction too..."
She then snapped her fingers, repairing the once crumbled knight back into its pristine state before making it go wander away.
Lillian watched this before returning her attention to the Heroine’s face, slightly unnerved. She was a bit uncomfortable about how the woman was handling the situation casually.
"You... Really are handling this well, huh? Have you not come across any... bodies yet?"
"Which side? Ours?" Millis tilted her head before placing her index finger on her chin, "Eh... A couple... Mainly due to the whole—"
BOOM!
The two ladies stiffened at the sound of another explosion. Millis smiled wryly and muttered:
"Due to the whole... shower of missiles. How ’bout ya, then, Lil’?"
Lillian shifted a little, her eyes glazing over as she recalled the limp bodies of those she passed by and those she hadn’t been able to save, even when she was right in front of them.
She chuckled, putting on a brave face as she said:
"Well...! It’s definitely something new. I think I’m handling it alright, so far."
Millis grinned, patting the white-haired girl’s back with a look of encouragement, "Don’t worry, chum! We’ll get through this without losing an arm or a leg, ’kay?"
Lillian nodded slowly before widening her eyes. She stared down at the Heroine’s face with a look of confusion, "Why are you out here, anyway? Aren’t you meant to be back in the dorms?"
Millis shrugged, "I went out for a stroll and then boom! Big ass portals open out and started chucking dudes at me. Which! To be fair, is quite the dream for some."
"Is it yours?" Lillian tilted her head.
Millis gave her a silent look before firmly shaking her head, "Hell nah! Especially when they come at me lookin’ like that!" She pointed her hand to the side, revealing a swarm of cultists making their way over to them.
"Ah shit!" Lillian hissed, stepping back. However, she stood her ground once seeing that Millis didn’t have any intentions of escaping.
She then watched as the woman pulled out a sword, which immediately caught her attention.
The sword had a black blade with silver edges. Along the flat sides of the blade were pulsating runes that glowed a subtle, iridescent glow.
"H-huh? Did you awaken it already?!" Lillian asked with clear surprise.
Millis, giving her an odd look, realised what the girl was referring to. She laughed, gripping the leather hilt of the sword.
"Hell yeah! This shi’ took me a bit to figure out. Kinda missing its little bouncy and pushing effect, though."
As the swarm of cultists was about to reach them, Millis raised her sword, intending to reveal the power behind it.
That was until...
SWOOSH!
A wall of ice shot up from the ground, separating Lillian and Millis, who were pulled back by the white-haired girl, and the army of cultists.
Lillian stared at the clear, frosty wall of ice before looking up, staring at the cultists, who were skewered on top of the wall by the spikes on it.
"Yikes! I almost turned into an icecube!" Millis shouted, staring at the freezing wall with a shiver as she stepped away from it, feeling goosebumps rise on her arms.
Lillian didn’t feel bothered by the cold; instead, she just wondered who it belonged to.
That was until, the cause for it revealed themselves from an alleyway to the side.
"I see you are still alive, Miss Lillian."
