I'll Raise My Future Omega Son-in-law-Chapter 30: JUSTICE IS SERVED
"CLIENT-NIM, youβre here."
Wonyoung nodded politely at Mr. Seoβs polite greeting. "Hello, sir. Are the couple inside?" ππ«ππ²π¨πππππ―ππΉ.ππ¨πΊ
"Yes, Client-nim," Mr. Seo answered while nodding. "We made sure that they wonβt escape."
"Thank you."
"No need to thank me, Client-nim. The young master has already paid me handsomely."
The βyoung masterβ was obviously Yun Dujun.
Mr. Seo is being careful not to mention Sunbae-nimβs name here.
That was smart.
Mr. Seo is really a professional.
"We have a generous boss," Wonyoung commented vaguely. After all, Mr. Seo didnβt know that Wonyoung was legally married to Yun Dujun. To prevent the private detective from being curious, he implied that he was working for the Alpha. "Can we come in now?"
"Of course, Client-nim," Mr. Seo said. "Let me open the door for you."
Wonyoung nodded, and then he turned to An Baekya whom he was still carrying in his arms. "Itβs showtime, Baekya."
An Baekya smiled βinnocently.β "Iβm excited, Uncle Wonyoungie."
***
AIGOO.
When Wonyoung heard from Yun Dujun that the Alpha had already taken care of An Baekyaβs uncle, he didnβt expect to see the scumbag half-dead.
Yes, the kidβs uncle was beaten up to the point that he couldnβt get up.
And I almost didnβt recognize his swollen face...
Oh, well.
Anyway...
Iβm sorry, but I canβt feel empathy for someone who beats up a small child.
"Who are you?!" the middle-aged woman screamed as soon as Wonyoung entered the house with An Baekya still in his arms. Of course, he was polite enough to remove his shoes and walked in only wearing his socks. "And why are you with my nephew?!"
The ahjumma ran towards Wonyoung as if she were trying to snatch An Baekya from his arms.
Aigoo.
However, Han Myungβ who was standing behind Wonyoung quietlyβ moved fast and blocked the middle-aged woman.
"Ahjumma, Iβm just here to tell you that Iβll be An Baekyaβs foster parent from now on," Wonyoung said. He got straight to the point because he had no intention of staying there longer. "Iβll send you a copy of the legal document from NSRC later. Weβre only here to grab An Baekyaβs things."
After saying that, he put down the kid.
Itβs frustrating how light An Baekya is.
"An Baekya, go and pack whatever you need to pack," Wonyoung said. "But leave your clothes. You wonβt need those dirty rags."
"Okay, Uncle Wonyoungie," An Baekya said, and then he quickly ran towards what seemed to be his room next to the bathroom. "Iβll be quick!"
"Take your time."
"Uncle βWonyoungie?β" the ahjumma asked in disbelief. "My nephew doesnβt have an uncle."
"Youβre the busybody who tried to take my nephew from me earlier!" the ahjussi yelled. Despite being beaten up to death, the bastard still had the nerve to open his mouth. "Youβre probably one of those bastards who saw the potential in my nephew after he joined that theatre companyβ"
"I was a good friend to Boreum Noona."
Wonyoungβs claim shut both the ahjumma and the ahjussi up.
Itβs probably because Iβm talking about Jang Boreum-ssiβ An Baekyaβs late mother.
Of course, everything that he knew about An Baekyaβs family was from the kid himself.
Starting this point, Iβm just following An Baekyaβs βscript.β
"L-Liar," the ahjumma said, her pupils shaking from fear. "I know all of my younger sisterβs friends..."
"Youβre the one whoβs lying, Ahjumma," Wonyoung said bluntly. "Boreum Noona has cut you off from her life before she even got married. You only showed up at her funeral and took An Baekya in because of Boreum Noonaβs insurance money. But instead of using that insurance money to raise An Baekya, you only used it to start a business scam."
It was sad how Wonyoung and An Baekya had similar life stories.
We both became orphans early, only to be taken in by relatives who just wanted to steal the insurance money left by our parents.
Was that the reason he felt so compelled to raise his future son-in-law?"
"I-I donβt know what youβre talking about! What insurance money? That bitch didnβt leave any moneyβ"
"Donβt you dare curse Boreum Noona," Wonyoung said coldly. After all, he knew that no matter how jaded An Baekya had become, hearing this ahjumma curse at his poor mother would still hurt. "Iβm taking An Baekya with me, whether you like it or not."
"Do it and Iβll sue you for kidnapping my nephew!" the ahjumma yelled, thumping her hand against her chest. "Iβm An Baekyaβs legal guardian!"
"Not anymore. Plus, you donβt have time to worry about An Baekya," Wonyoung said, and then he pointed at the ahjussi who was sitting on the floor (the old man couldnβt walk because one of his legs was broken). "You should be worried about your husband whom Iβm sending to a deep-sea fishing vessel."
"W-What are you talking about?" the ahjussi asked, obviously scared. "What do you mean youβre sending me to a deep-sea fishing vessel?!"
"Ahjussi, youβll work there until you pay off all the insurance money that you stole from An Baekya," Wonyoung said sternly, and then he turned to the middle-aged woman. "Ahjumma, weβll send you to Jeju Island and youβll work there as a Haenyeo."
The ahjumma looked shocked.
And Wonyoung knew why.
A βHaenyeoβ is a free scuba diver, usually a woman, who harvests various marine life like seaweed, shellfish, and abalone. Yep, they do it without oxygen tanks. And, yep, itβs extremely dangerousβ that was how An Baekyaβs mother died.
No wonder An Baekyaβs aunt looked horrified.
"W-Who gave you the right to tell us what to doβ"
"Ahjumma, if you open your mouth and talk about An Baekya to anyone in any way, Iβll send you to a deep-sea fishing vessel, too," Wonyoung said coldly. "Youβll be under strict surveillance from now on, so you better watch your mouth."
***
"LET US GO!"
"You canβt do this to us!"
Whew.
Wonyoung felt relieved when Yun Dujunβs bodyguards dragged An Baekyaβs aunt and uncle out of the house.
Theyβre resisting with all their might, but theyβre just wasting their energy.
The two were loud, but thankfully, none of the neighbors were nosy enough to check on what was happening there.
Itβs probably because of the bodyguards around the house.
Anyway, An Baekyaβs greedy relatives were loaded into a black SUV like some packages.
Han Myung will handle the rest since he heard what I said earlier.
"Uncle Wonyoungie, Iβm ready to go."
Wonyoung looked down and saw An Baekya standing next to him while hugging a small, ragged backpack.
The kid had to hug it because one of the bagβs straps had snapped already.
Aigoo.
"Is that all youβre taking, Baekya?"
"Yes, Uncle Wonyoungie," An Baekya said, looking up at him. "Uncle, what are we going to do about my school? I canβt just disappear. Plus, I want to say goodbye to the hyungs and noonas in the theatre company I joined recently."
Oh, right.
We canβt just have this kid missing.
"Baekya, do you want to move to Seoul with me?" Wonyoung asked, squatting down to meet the childβs eye level. "Or would you like me to move here to Busan?"
An Baekyaβs choice will determine whether Iβll accept Sunbae-nimβs job offer or not.
