November 9, 2020.

The pandemic had shifted how people lived, how they worked, and even how they spent money—but for Matthew, wealth had become something more than just security. It was power, it was influence, and today… it was indulgence.

He had spent months making the right investments, building Sentinel Systems into a corporate behemoth, securing stakes in SM Prime and San Miguel Corporation. But today, it wasn't about business.

Today, it was about enjoying the fruits of his labor.

And he wasn't doing it alone.

The Lexus LM500 rolled into Greenhills, its matte black exterior gleaming under the late-morning sun. The roads were busier now compared to the peak of the lockdowns, though people still moved with caution. The mask mandate was still in full effect—N95s and surgical masks covered the faces of passersby, and mall security ensured temperature checks at every entrance.

But inside the luxury car dealerships, it was a different world.

Matthew stepped out, dressed in a fitted charcoal suit, his polished Ferragamo loafers clicking against the pavement. Behind him, Saimon and Leo followed, their own designer outfits giving them the unmistakable look of men with money to burn.

"This is it, boys," Leo said, adjusting his surgical mask as he surveyed the area. "Supercar heaven."

"Greenhills is always the place to be for this," Saimon added, his eyes scanning the massive glass windows that displayed some of the most exotic cars money could buy.

Matthew smirked. "Then let's make some bad financial decisions."

They stepped into the Maserati showroom first.

The scent of premium leather and fresh wax filled the air as they entered the dealership. The interior was sleek, modern—minimalist yet opulent. Bright LED spotlights illuminated the vehicles like museum pieces, each Maserati standing pristine, untouched, perfect.

Matthew's eyes locked onto one.

A Maserati GranTurismo MC Stradale.

The deep blue paint shimmered under the lights, its aggressive curves and signature Maserati trident on the grille giving it an almost predatory look. The 20-inch forged alloy wheels, the sculpted aerodynamics, and the sheer presence of the car made Matthew's heart race a little faster.

"This," Matthew murmured, running his hand along the carbon-fiber hood. "This is the one."

A sales executive, a sharply dressed man with a branded face mask, approached them.

"Excellent choice, sir," the man said smoothly. "The MC Stradale is our most performance-focused model. 4.7-liter V8, 460 horsepower, top speed of 303 kilometers per hour."

Matthew smirked. "I'm sold."

The executive's eyes gleamed. "Would you like to take it for a test drive?"

Matthew didn't even hesitate.

The engine came alive with a feral growl, the V8 ripping through the quiet showroom as Matthew pressed the ignition button. He could feel the power vibrating through the steering wheel, the raw energy of a high-performance machine ready to be unleashed.

He took it out onto EDSA, the roads still not as congested as they had been pre-pandemic, giving him the chance to stretch its legs. The downshifts were crisp, the exhaust note intoxicating, and with every acceleration, he could feel the adrenaline building.

It wasn't just a car.

It was a statement.

By the time he pulled back into the dealership, his mind was already made up.

"How much?" Matthew asked casually, stepping out.

"₱14.8 million, sir," the salesman responded.

Matthew didn't even blink.

"I'll take it."

Saimon, meanwhile, was drawn to something more refined, more balanced. He wasn't about brutal power—he was about precision, control, and German engineering.

And there it was.

A BMW M8 Competition Coupe.

Finished in Frozen Marina Bay Blue, the car looked both elegant and menacing, with black chrome accents, quad exhaust tips, and an interior wrapped in Merino leather.

"This," Saimon muttered, running a hand over the kidney grille. "This is what I need."

"4.4-liter twin-turbo V8, 617 horsepower, 0-100 in 3.2 seconds," the BMW rep chimed in. "It's the pinnacle of M Performance."

Saimon smirked. "Then let's take it for a spin."

The test drive was surgical precision on wheels.

Unlike the Maserati's roaring aggression, the BMW was smooth, calculated. The xDrive all-wheel system made cornering effortless, and when he floored it on an open stretch, the explosive acceleration pinned him to his seat.

By the time he returned to the showroom, he was sold.

"How much?"

"₱13.9 million, sir."

Saimon smirked under his mask.

"Done."

Leo, on the other hand, went for something that screamed both wealth and muscle—the Mercedes-AMG GT R Pro.

The long hood, the low-slung body, the AMG-specific grille, and the massive carbon-ceramic brakes made it clear: this was a beast wearing a tuxedo.

"This is my ride," Leo declared, stepping toward the sleek black coupe.

"4.0-liter twin-turbo V8, 577 horsepower, rear-wheel drive, Nürburgring-developed aerodynamics," the Mercedes rep listed off. "It's one of the most track-focused AMGs we've ever built."

Leo grinned. "I'll take it."

"No test drive?" Matthew teased.

Leo scoffed. "Don't need one. It's an AMG."

The final price came out to ₱16.5 million, but Leo didn't even blink.

As they stood outside the showroom, the three of them posing in front of their brand-new supercars, they did what every rich young entrepreneur would do—flaunt it.

Instagram posts, Facebook stories, and Twitter updates flooded their feeds, each one more obnoxiously lavish than the last.

Matthew's caption: Hard work pays off. Welcome to the family, GranTurismo.

Saimon's caption: German engineering at its finest. BMW supremacy.

Leo's caption: Luxury and power, AMG style. Haters will say it's rented.

The reactions came instantly.

Hundreds of comments.

Thousands of likes.

Some were in awe.

Some were jealous.

Some were downright pissed off.

Matthew didn't care.

As he slid into the driver's seat of his Maserati, gripping the leather-wrapped steering wheel, he knew one thing for sure—that they are living life now. Even though he owed it to someone from the future who invented the technologies that he had copied.

For sure, this was just an alternate timeline, and in another universe, the original inventor of the technology would be living a high life from his work.
