I'm Trapped Inside a Prince as the Most Powerful Entity-Chapter 121: A New Faction
Chapter 121: A New Faction
Samba the representative of the red-banded group the Red Flame faction stepped forward again. His friendly smile widened as he began his sales pitch.
He was trying to recruit Eric. "Join the Red Team Eric," he said. His voice was smooth and persuasive trying to sound very convincing.
"We have the most skilled students in our faction especially in combat magic. And more importantly we have unrestricted access to the Academy’s main library. You can read any book you want whenever you want."
Before Samba could elaborate further before he could list more benefits of his group the representative of the yellow-banded group a tall fair-haired student named Tuck cut him off.
Tuck waved his hand dismissively as if Samba’s words were unimportant.
"Samba stop your nonsense," Tuck said his tone one of amused superiority.
He clearly thought his group was much better. He then took a step closer to Eric. His gaze was direct and very confident.
"The Golden Group," he announced using his faction’s more formal name "is the strongest student group in this Academy. We are the reigning champions of the Inter-Academy Group Championship. We have won it for eleven consecutive years. No other group can match us."
Tuck paused for a moment. He let the weight of that incredible achievement sink in.
He wanted Eric to be impressed.
"Like the Red Team we also have access to the main library," he conceded admitting they were equal in that regard.
"But we also have priority access to all of the main practice grounds. We always get the best training areas first. We command the most resources in this Academy. If you join us Eric your growth your power will be... exponential. You will become stronger much faster with us." The offer was very enticing. It was a clear path to power and prestige.
Adam still wearing Eric’s face looked at Tuck. He then let his gaze sweep over Samba and the other two representatives Shin from the Black Sword and the student from the blue group.
A slow deliberate smile spread across his lips. It was not Eric’s nervous relieved smile from moments before.
This was a smile of pure predatory amusement a smile that held a hidden danger.
Tuck the leader of the Golden Group misinterpreted the smile. He thought it was a sign of Eric’s interest in his offer. He pressed his advantage trying to seal the deal.
"So tell us Eric," he said his voice confident "what have you decided? Which one of our groups will you honor with your presence?"
Adam still smiling that unnerving smile replied.
His voice was calm relaxed and it carried a surprising weight of authority a confidence that no one expected from a first-year student. "I will not be joining any group."
His words fell into a stunned silence.
On the ground Kado the green-haired martial artist who had been watching the whole thing with a mixture of pain and defiant rage looked up.
His eyes were wide with disbelief. He couldn’t believe what he had just heard.
Ryan the boy who had just secured his own position within the Red Team was equally astonished. Behind them the entire crowd of first-year students stared dumbfounded.
They were all completely shocked. To be offered a place in all four factions the highest honor a new student could possibly receive and to then reject them all... it was unthinkable.
It was insane.
Adam then did something even more unexpected even more shocking. He turned his back on the four stunned representatives the most powerful students in the entire Academy.
And he faced the crowd of bewildered first-years. He was going to speak to them instead.
"In these few moments that I have been standing here," Adam announced his voice resonating across the courtyard. His tone was now that of a lecturer addressing his students a teacher about to give a lesson.
"I have learned one very important thing from interacting with these... individuals these upperclassmen. It is a piece of information a piece of advice that I wish to share with all of you."
The first-year students caught completely off guard by this strange turn of events all focused their attention on him. They wanted to hear what he had to say.
The four representatives and the members of their factions standing behind them were utterly baffled by this turn of events. They were confused and angry.
Their expressions shifted from surprise to a simmering indignant anger. A few of the more hot-headed members of the various groups began to tense up.
They were ready to spring into action to teach this arrogant newcomer a lesson for his great disrespect.
However their respective representatives the leaders of the four factions quickly held up a hand. They subtly halted them. They stopped their group members from attacking.
They knew they had to be careful.
This was no ordinary first-year student. This was the student that the Emperor himself had recognized. This was the boy who the Emperor said could one day surpass him.
They couldn’t just attack him without a very valid reason. Not without risking severe repercussions severe consequences from the Academy and from the Emperor.
The political and social implications were too complex. They had to be smart about this.
The first-year students meanwhile exchanged confused uncertain glances with each other. Their gazes shifted back and forth between the furious-looking upperclassmen and the strangely confident Eric who stood before them. ƒree𝑤ebnσvel.com
They didn’t know what to think.
Adam spoke again his voice clear and cutting sharp like a knife.
"If you are thinking," he said his gaze sweeping over the crowd of newcomers the nervous first-years
"that by joining one of their groups by pledging your loyalty to them you will be able to live your life here at the United Academy in peace... then you are completely utterly mistaken. You are wrong."
He paused again letting his shocking statement hang in the air.
"From observing their behavior from watching how they act and how they speak," he continued "I can tell you with absolute certainty that they will not treat you well in the future. They do not see you as equals. They see you as tools."
At his words many of the first-year students looked over at the scowling angry faces of the upperclassmen. A new seed of doubt and a real fear was being planted in their minds. Could he be right? they wondered. Could this all be a trap?
The upperclassmen and their representatives were now genuinely stunned.
They were shocked into silence. How had this boy this newcomer in just a few short minutes figured out the unwritten unspoken reality of their entire system? It was not an official rule of the Academy of course.
But it was a long-standing tradition. It was an established part of the Academy’s brutal social hierarchy. The new students who joined their groups were in essence servants. They were forced to do the bidding of their seniors.
They had to run their errands to complete their less desirable tasks to do their chores. And the bullying... the bullying was relentless.
It was especially bad if the new student was from a minor kingdom a weaker nation or from a less influential noble family. Adam with a few simple sentences had exposed the ugly truth of their entire system.
And he had exposed it to the very people they intended to exploit to use for their own benefit. He had ruined their welcoming ceremony. He had ruined their power play.
