I'm Trapped Inside a Prince as the Most Powerful Entity-Chapter 150: The First Day of Training
Chapter 150: The First Day of Training
In the secluded quiet of the forest clearing Silver and Gold spoke.
Their voices were in perfect disconcerting unison.
It was as if a single mind was speaking from two mouths.
"So," they asked their voices a single melodic whisper directed at Void "did you find anything? Do you have any new suspicions about our target?"
Void remained silent for a few moments. His gaze was distant. He was processing the day’s chaotic events in his mind.
Finally he shook his head slowly. "So far," he admitted his voice low
"my only real suspicion falls upon the Emperor Sir David himself. His power is immense and he acts strangely. But besides him there are many other potential candidates here at the Academy."
"Among the fourth-year students there are some who are very powerful. And even among the newly arrived first-years there are a few interesting ones."
Silver and Gold nodded in unison. It was a gesture that was both graceful and unnerving in its perfect synchronicity.
"I believe," Silver said her voice a soft silvery chime "that Princess Monica could also be hosting a Spirit. She has a great deal of power for a human."
Void let out a short almost amused laugh.
"Yes," he conceded.
"She is a possibility too. But in any case the Apostles did not command us to find our target immediately. They gave us time. That is why I advise both of you," he continued his tone becoming more serious
"to first gather complete and irrefutable proof before you take any kind of action. We must be certain. For now the three of us need to blend in. We need to become a part of this place. We must act like normal students."
The two Elven twins nodded their agreement once more. Then in a shimmer of displaced air all three of them vanished from the clearing.
They left no trace that they had ever been there. Their secret meeting was over.
Meanwhile Eric driven by his newfound resolve to become stronger had made his way to a nearby training ground.
This was an indoor facility a vast cavernous hall filled with numerous raised circular platforms.
As Eric watched he saw several other students step onto these platforms. freēwēbηovel.c૦m
The moment they did a transparent energy shield materialized around the platform.
It obscured the view of what was happening inside. A small light on the base of the platform would then glow either red or blue signaling that it was currently occupied.
Eric searched for an empty platform. They were constructed from a dark polished stone. At first glance they looked like simple solid structures. But Eric knew they were far more than that.
These were magical training platforms marvels of arcane engineering.
Finally he found one. A platform at the far end of the hall had a green glowing light. This indicated it was vacant and available for use.
Eric walked quickly towards it his steps purposeful. He ascended the short flight of stairs.
And the moment he stepped onto the platform’s surface the transparent barrier shimmered into existence around him.
The view of the outside world of the other students and the vast training hall vanished completely.
It was replaced by the opaque shimmering wall of the energy shield. From the outside no one could see what was happening on his platform. He was completely isolated.
As the barrier solidified a figure materialized in the center of the platform.
It was a humanoid automaton a training dummy.
It was constructed from dark polished wood. Its form mimicked that of a human sparring partner.
Simultaneously to Eric’s right a rack of weapons appeared out of thin air.
On it rested a sharp real steel sword. To his left another rack appeared. This one held a simple wooden practice sword.
Eric ignored the wooden sword. He walked over and picked up the real steel blade. Its weight was a solid reassuring presence in his hand. He looked at the wooden automaton.
And with a voice filled with a determination he hadn’t felt in a very long time he commanded "Give me the hardest level of training you have."
The moment he spoke the words the single wooden robot vanished. In its place three new figures shimmered into existence. They were not wooden automatons.
They were perfect life-like replicas of Imperial soldiers. They were clad in full armor. Their expressions were cold and menacing.
A jolt of fear a primal instinctual response shot through Eric. But he immediately pushed it down. He forced the image of the auditorium into his mind.
He remembered the thousands of staring eyes the crushing pressure of the Principal’s power and the feeling of absolute utter helplessness he had felt.
He was filled with a profound sense of shame at his own weakness.
If he continued to shrink away from challenges if he continued to give in to his fear he would never accomplish anything.
He would remain a burden a disappointment to his father and his kingdom.
He remembered the stories his older brothers had told him about these amazing training platforms.
They were unique to this Academy. They were famous throughout the entire continent. The special thing about them was the realistic experience they provided. The injuries sustained here were real.
The pain was real. But the platform itself possessed a powerful continuous healing magic.
Any wound no matter how severe would be healed almost instantly.
It was a place where one could experience the true brutality of real combat without the risk of permanent injury or death.
The platform was designed in such a way that it was impossible for a student to actually die here. It was the perfect place to train.
Clutching the steel sword tightly his knuckles white Eric took a deep breath. He advanced on the three Imperial soldier training dummies. The fight began.
The hours passed in a blur of pain exertion and a relentless grinding effort. Eric fought like he had never fought before. He was cut bruised and knocked down more times than he could count.
Each time the searing pain of a blade slicing his skin or the jarring impact of a heavy blow was completely real.
But just as quickly as the pain came the glowing energy of the platform would wash over him. It would knit his flesh back together. It would mend his wounds. It forced him back to his feet time and time again.
As evening fell casting long shadows outside the training hall the scene inside Eric’s training platform was one of brutal hard-won victory. Eric was lying on his back on the cold stone floor.
His chest was heaving as he gasped for air. His entire body ached despite the platform’s constant healing.
Scattered around him were the now-deactivated forms of the Imperial soldiers.
The blade of his steel sword was embedded deep in the chest of the last remaining training dummy. He had won. But he was utterly and completely spent. He had no energy left.
As he lay there gasping for breath the familiar transparent interface of the [System Window] appeared before him.
"[Host Eric it is now evening,]" it stated its tone as neutral and as calm as ever.
"[You should rest now. You have trained for many hours. If you continue your body will no longer be able to support your training. Instead your exhaustion will become a hindrance to your progress. It will do more harm than good.]"
Hearing the [System Window]’s logical if emotionless advice Eric let out a long shuddering breath.
He knew it was right. He had pushed himself to his absolute limit today. With a final monumental effort he pushed himself up into a sitting position. Then slowly unsteadily he got to his feet.
"Training... over," he gasped his voice a hoarse whisper.
The moment the words were spoken the three deactivated Imperial soldier dummies vanished.
They dematerialized into nothingness. The transparent energy barrier that had surrounded the platform also flickered and disappeared.
It revealed the now-empty training hall around him. All the other students had already left for the day.
His first day of real training was complete. He had taken the first step on his long journey to becoming stronger.
