I'm Trapped Inside a Prince as the Most Powerful Entity-Chapter 175: A Royal Negotiation
Chapter 175: A Royal Negotiation
The moment Adam took control of Eric’s body he entered the Principal’s private office.
He saw the two figures seated within. The Principal Logan and beside him the Emperor David. They were both seated on a plush comfortable sofa. An air of serious weighty discussion hung between them.
Adam smiled internally. A cold calculating amusement flickered within his ancient consciousness. I know why the Emperor is here, he thought.
His understanding of mortal politics of the pressures of nobility and power was far more profound than Eric’s ever could be. He understood this game perfectly.
With a calm unhurried grace that was entirely at odds with Eric’s usual nervous demeanor Adam walked over to the sofa.
It was adjacent to the one where the Principal and the Emperor were seated. And he sat down. He did not wait to be invited to sit. He acted as if he belonged there.
The Principal and the Emperor both watched him. Their expressions were unreadable.
For a few long silent seconds the only sound in the room was the soft ticking of a large grandfather clock that stood in the corner. The tension was palpable.
Finally the Emperor let out a slow deliberate sigh. He looked at Adam. "Eric," he began his voice the deep resonant rumble of absolute authority "I need to talk to you about something important."
But before the Emperor could finish his sentence before he could lay out his request or his command Adam interrupted him.
"I know what you are going to say My Lord Emperor," Adam said. His voice was calm respectful yet it carried an undeniable undercurrent of confidence. "But before you ask anything of me I too have something to ask of you."
The Emperor was genuinely surprised by this. The boy—this strange powerful entity—was not just anticipating his request. He was already positioning himself to negotiate. He was setting the terms of the conversation.
Adam continued his gaze steady his tone unwavering. "I am willing to agree to your terms whatever they may be," he stated. It was a clear unambiguous offer. "But in return for my cooperation I will also need something from you."
Hearing Adam’s words a wave of profound relief washed over the Emperor. The boy was willing to negotiate.
This was a far better outcome than he had dared to hope for.
The political fallout from Cian’s punishment would have been immense. It would have been a headache he was very eager to avoid. Cian’s father was a very important and very difficult man.
The Principal too felt a sense of relief. He was pleased that "Eric" was willing to be reasonable. He was willing to find a compromise. This would make things much easier for everyone.
Adam then laid out his own condition his price for cooperation. "I want you Lord Emperor," he said his voice firm and direct "to give your official sanction to the group I have created here at the Academy. The New Warriors. I am sure the Principal has already told you all about it."
The Emperor remained silent for a few moments. A faint almost imperceptible smile touched his lips. I thought as much, he mused to himself. This is exactly what he would ask for. This boy is clever. He knows how to use his leverage.
The Emperor did not even have to consider the request for long. In the grand scheme of his vast empire the formation of a new student group at the Academy no matter how disruptive was a matter of complete and utter insignificance.
It was a small price to pay to resolve the much larger more politically damaging issue of Cian’s public humiliation and punishment. He was more than willing to agree to Adam’s terms.
It was a good deal for him. It solved his problem with Cian’s family. And it cost him nothing at all. He had found a solution that would please everyone involved except for Cian and his friends. freeweɓnovēl.coɱ
Just as the Emperor was about to agree to Adam’s first request a wave of relief was washing over him at the prospect of such a simple resolution. He was about to speak. But Adam spoke again.
"But," he said his voice calm and steady "along with your signature I need one more thing from you."
The Emperor and the Principal were both a little surprised by this. They had thought the negotiation was over.
They looked at Adam their expressions now a mixture of curiosity and a renewed cautious apprehension. What else could this enigmatic boy possibly want?
Adam continued his gaze unwavering his tone now that of a seasoned negotiator laying out his final non-negotiable terms.
"I want you Lord Emperor," he said his words directed squarely at the most powerful man on the continent
"for the next four years for as long as I am a student at this United Academy to allocate all available Academy resources to my new group as well. I want the same access that the other groups have. And," he added his voice now carrying a weight of audacious ambition that was truly staggering "I want the Emperor himself to personally sponsor my group The New Warriors."
His words his demand hung heavy in the silent room. The Principal and the Emperor were both completely utterly flabbergasted. They stared at him in shock.
They knew that "Eric" must have had a reason a plan for creating this new group in the first place.
But for him to demand that the Emperor himself the ruler of the entire continent personally sponsor a fledgling unrecognized student faction... it was an act of audacity that bordered on insanity. No one had ever asked such a thing of the Emperor before.
The financial structure of the United Academy was a complex self-sustaining ecosystem.
Students were expected to earn their own money.
They did this by completing missions and tasks assigned by the Academy.
These missions ranged from simple monster subjugation in the nearby forests to complex political and espionage assignments in other kingdoms.
A portion of these earnings was then given to their respective student groups.
It was a mandatory contribution that funded the group’s activities their resources and their influence within the Academy.
In addition to this many of the established noble families from both the Empire and the outer kingdoms also sponsored the four major factions. The Red Blue Black and Golden groups all had powerful backers.
This was a mutually beneficial arrangement.
The groups received a steady stream of funding and resources. And the noble families in turn gained a significant foothold of influence within the walls of the most prestigious educational institution on the continent.
They could recruit talented graduates. They could gather information. They could build alliances.
A new group like the one Adam was proposing one with no history no established connections and no powerful noble families backing it would have to be entirely self-sufficient. Its members would have to handle all its financial needs themselves.
And securing a sponsor especially in the beginning was an incredibly difficult if not impossible task for a new group.
Adam despite having only been in Eric’s body for a short time had already gathered all this information from the System. He understood the intricate web of power and influence that governed the Academy.
He knew that even if he managed to form his new group its path would not be an easy one. It would be a constant struggle for resources for recognition and for simple survival.
The other groups would try to crush them.
And so he had seized this opportunity.
This moment of leverage with the Emperor himself asking a favor of him was a golden chance. It was a chance to bypass all those difficulties to establish his group on a footing equal to or even greater than the established factions.
In truth Adam didn’t care whether Cian was expelled from the Academy or not. He didn’t care about the internal politics of the Red Team or any of the other student factions. He possessed the power the absolute capability to destroy Cian or any of the other groups whenever he wished.
But that was not his primary goal.
His goal was to create a stable powerful base of operations for himself within this new world. He needed a group of loyal capable followers. And for that he needed resources.
He needed money influence and access. He needed the one thing he couldn’t simply create out of thin air.
He needed the official undeniable backing of the Empire itself. And that was what he was asking for now. He was making a very bold move.
