Immortal in Horror Game: She is the Fortune Teller!-Chapter 256 - 251: Bloody Castle 32
Mermaid King: "...And why are you here?"
Yuze noticed that he didn’t look like he had just appeared and scanned the surroundings warily: "What’s going on here? Where’s Josh?"
The Mermaid King arrogantly looked him up and down, arms crossed, raising his chin: "Inside."
Yuze looked toward the black mist, seeing nothing through it. If he hadn’t been in this instance before and known there was a castle here, he might have thought he was in the wrong place.
Yuze squinted his eyes: "Why are you here?"
The Mermaid King, clearly a monster from the new players’ instance, kept appearing in the instances Josh had entered. Could this game bug be any creepier?
The Mermaid King shot him a glance: "Instead of worrying about me, why not think about how to get inside? She’s been trapped in there for a long time."
Yuze attempted to release his spiritual power and found it actually worked.
The Mermaid King’s tone was cool: "Don’t waste your energy; this barrier can’t be broken."
"Just because you can’t break it, what’s it got to do with me?" Yuze replied, his tone sharp, as he prepared to attack with his spiritual power.
The Mermaid King’s tone was even sharper: "I don’t care about a fool, but this barrier absorbs spiritual power attacks. The more you attack, the stronger it will become, only adding to my difficulty."
Yuze’s face darkened, looking coldly at the Mermaid King.
The Mermaid King looked back, mocking arrogance.
Sparks seemed to fly between their eyes.
Yuze chuckled coldly: "So the barrier is so strong now because you, this fool, attacked it first?"
The Mermaid King’s brow furrowed.
Yuze lightly retracted his gaze: "Then there’s nothing more to say."
He seemed to think of something and said harshly: "Don’t worry about my teammate; return to your ocean!"
"Your teammate?" the Mermaid King sneered: "She’s my queen. What does that have to do with you? I’ll rescue my own queen."
Yuze looked him up and down with disdain: "Your queen? Blindly chasing after her and crowning her queen? She’s my Master An, and we paired with Spiritual Bodies."
At these words, the Mermaid King wasn’t angry. Instead, he disdainfully looked at Yuze like he was watching a childish spat in kindergarten: "You sure she paired with you? How did she pair with you? Foolish kid, she actively paired with me; that’s why she mistook you for me. Who do you think you are otherwise?"
Yuze’s face sank: "What do you mean?"
The Mermaid King looked away: "If you don’t understand, go back to kindergarten."
Yuze processed the massive amount of information, observing the fish beside him silently, but his words were still sharp: "You’re so ugly; if she mistook me for you, you should be grateful and secretly happy, ugly fish."
The Mermaid King didn’t want to bicker: "I will rescue my own queen, beat it."
Yuze withdrew his gaze, raising his chin arrogantly: "I’ll rescue my own teammate; it has nothing to do with you."
Neither looked at the other; sparks continued to fly.
"Um... stop arguing and think about how to get Josh out first," another voice within the Mermaid King spoke up.
Yuze raised an eyebrow: "Code 7?"
Code 7 looked at him in surprise: "You remember me?!"
His voice sounded quite delighted.
The Mermaid King felt a bit embarrassed, pushing him back down.
Yuze sensed something was off: "Who really are you? Why are other instance monsters on you?"
He scanned the Mermaid King keenly: "If I’m right, you also have God R on you, don’t you?"
The Mermaid King raised an eyebrow, surprised by his sharpness.
He was a tad smarter than expected, not just a reckless brute.
The Mermaid King snorted coldly: "None of your business."
Yuze didn’t press further. He wasn’t interested in prying into others’ secrets. After rescuing Josh, he’d report this to their coach for feedback.
Code 7 emerged again, "That monster is very powerful; don’t underestimate him. We’ve battled him several times and couldn’t catch him; his power is pretty strong."
Yuze said nothing.
Of course, he knew it was strong. In their past encounter, although he couldn’t use his spiritual power and the other wasn’t at full strength, he could still sense its immense power.
The bosses in this game all seemed to be linked, pursuing Josh, which didn’t sound good.
Yuze didn’t argue since he was determined to take Josh away.
But...
His eyes flashed slightly, and he stepped back to the side.
*
Josh was in a blurry slumber when she seemed to hear a sound.
"Josh..."
"Come to my side."
Josh frowned slightly, moving closer toward the sound.
No, they were calling for Josh.
Was she Josh?
"Josh, wake up; have you forgotten who you are?"
The voice in her mind was deep and pleasing, yet oddly familiar to her.
"Who are you? Do you know me?" Josh asked.
Just as she responded, a blue light rushed over, enveloping her.
Surprised, Josh was about to speak when she suddenly fell.
She opened her eyes, seeing Sisi beside her.
Sisi was looking at her worriedly: "What’s wrong? Are you feeling uncomfortable? I heard you talking in your sleep."
Josh was about to speak but suddenly couldn’t recall the dream’s content.
She shook her head: "It’s nothing..."
A raven suddenly flew over and hit the window outside.
Josh was startled.
Sisi immediately shielded her, eyes fixed on the raven, a cold glint flashing within them.
The raven instantly exploded, turning into a bloody pulp, falling down.
He gently patted the person in his embrace, his voice soft: "Don’t be afraid, I’ve chased it away."
Josh wasn’t scared, just startled by the sudden noise.
She paused, looking toward the raven’s direction, realizing what that strange feeling was.
This castle was too silent!
There wasn’t even any wind.
Besides Sisi, she could hardly hear anyone else’s voice in her entire world.
Even if maids walked by outside, there were no footsteps.
How could there be no sound of footsteps when people walk?
And such a large castle, with maids going out for purchases, kitchen preparation, and cleaning, there was almost no sound.
She discovered many people in the castle were gone.
On the day of her and Sisi’s grand wedding, the old King and the butler Thomas were there.
But gradually, these people seemed to disappear, leaving only some silent maids in the castle aside from her and Sisi.
Except for this morning’s incident.
