Immortality Starts From Making Money.-Chapter 333: Taking back the Northern Region.
Northern Region.
Capital City.
Seated inside the former governor's mansion, three people dressed in expensive silk robes sat with grave expressions.
"Do you know where this chamber came from?" Wei Chen asked in a low voice.
"How would we know?" Zhou Fei replied, his expression dark. "We all arrived in this forsaken region at the same time. So don't ask me useless questions."
It had been three days since they arrived in the Northern Region Capital City. Their mission was to support the Evil Cultivator in handling the rebels.
To them, this was nothing more than a simple mission. Yet reality proved otherwise.
A chamber had appeared out of nowhere, serving as the hub for commerce. Worse, the chamber sold the most coveted Stoneheart Armor.
Beyond the Stoneheart Armor, they sold many artifacts they had never seen before.
As descendants of an ancient force, how could they miss such easy wealth?
They sent their men to attack the chamber, but most were killed, with only a few returning.
With chambers opposing them, how could they control the city?
"I still find the Moon Orb pleasing to the eye," Wu Hua said with a faint smile, gazing at the Moon Orb at the center of the table.
"Who cares about the Moon Orb?" Zhou Fei scoffed, annoyance creasing her brow. "The rebels are gaining ground, and the evil cultivators are starting to lose faith in us. We need a solution immediately."
"What about their leader?" Wei Chen asked, knitting his brow.
"That useless fool has retreated into closed-door training," Wu Hua replied, irritation coloring her voice.
"We're here to help them deal with their troubles. How can he not care about the situation?"
The room fell silent as none of them could fathom the evil cultivator leader's action.
Finally, Wei Chen broke the silence. "We don't need to care about him. Right now, we need to show the rebels our might and instill fear in them."
"Some of the remaining clans should be taught a lesson. If we can make them submit, we could easily suppress the people," he explained.
"Agreed. Also, I suggest we control the food and water in the city," Wu Hua added, a taut expression on her face.
"With no food and water, let's see how those rats attempt to rebel."
"Good. Good." A bright smile blossomed on Zhou Fei's face as he slapped his thigh in excitement. "With this, the sacrificial plan can proceed, albeit with a delay."
"Then what are we waiting for? Let's get to it immediately."
Just then, hurried footfalls sounded from outside. An old man with gray hair rushed into the room.
"Master, the rebels have attacked," he announced, sweat beads glistening on his forehead.
"What!" they exclaimed, rising to their feet at once.
"Where?" Wu Hua asked, a solemn expression settling on her face.
"Here!"
Boom! Boom!
The mansion trembled to its core as if it might collapse. Slowly, they could hear the sounds of battle coming from outside.
"How is this possible?"
"How did they bypass our defense?" Wei Chen roared, a surge of power erupting from him, belonging to an Intermediate Golden Core Expert.
Without waiting for the others, he prepared to rush out of the room.
He was an elder from the Silver Wei Sect, and he wouldn't tolerate some common backward ants sullying his face.
Today, he would show them why they were different from the worthless evil cultivators.
'Hmm!'
Suddenly, he felt his spiritual energy turning erratic, slipping beyond his control.
What was happening?
He tried to bring it back under control, but it resisted. Slowly, his spiritual energy began to dissolve from his dantian.
"Noooooo!" he screamed.
Fear and panic etched themselves across his face.
Looking at him, Wu Hua and Zhou Fei stood stunned, their eyes wide with disbelief.
"Wei Chen, what happened?" Zhou Fei asked, moving closer to inspect what was happening.
Bang! Bang!
The ragged sound of battle grew louder, and the thick smell of blood drifted into the room.
"Master, the rebels are here," the old man shouted, his face pale with dread.
Without his reminder, Wu Hua and Zhou Fei could already tell their enemies were coming for them.
As for Wei Chen, his expression soured. He could not believe that in a matter of seconds he would lose all his cultivation.
'I've been poisoned,' he thought.
He was no fool. If there were no injuries, how could he lose his cultivation? The answer was obvious.
'But how is that possible?'
'I've never left the mission.' His thoughts churned, filled with doubt and suspicion.
He turned his head to look at Wu Hua and Zhou Fei.
"Try to use your spiritual energy," he said in a low, cold voice.
Hmm?
"What happened? Do you detect anything?" Wu Hua asked, attempting to summon her own energy. 𝕗𝗿𝕖𝐞𝐰𝗲𝕓𝐧𝕠𝕧𝗲𝐥.𝚌𝐨𝚖
The moment she initiated her cultivation technique, the poison took effect. The faint smile vanished from her lips, replaced by a scream.
"Noooooo."
Beside her, Zhou Fei also screamed.
"What is happening to us?" Wu Hua shouted, her face contorted with dread.
Without their cultivation, how would they survive in the Northern Region? More importantly, their enemies were already at their door.
"Quick, detoxifying pills," Zhou Fei shouted as he attempted to retrieve a detoxifying pill from his spatial pouch.
"Don't bother, it is useless," the terrified old man replied with a smirk.
"Huh!" He drew a sharp breath and straightened his back. "Acting as a lackey is not as easy as I imagined."
"What have you done?" Wu Hua screamed, veins protruding on her forehead.
Pah!
A sharp, resounding slap echoed through the room. She stumbled backward, a deep palm print burning on her cheek.
"Don't you dare scream at me," the old man said in a cold, deadly voice.
"This is our land. How dare you try to lord over us." He pointed at them. "I thought our savior had arrived, but I never expected three ancient powers to be in alliance with the evil sects."
"For everything we've lost, I'll make sure you pay with blood."
Creak!
The door was pushed open, and a group of men wearing Stoneheart Armor marched inside. Their faces were smeared with blood.
"Leader, it is done," one of them announced with a broad smile.
