In Another World, Everyone Want to Kill Me!-Chapter 264: Training Within the Circle
After saying he understood, the child departed.
The person’s voice lingered faintly in the room.
Before long, someone knocked on the door outside and calling for him to go downstairs to practice.
Yue Mingxuan let out a sigh.
After arranging protection for Rong Qinglei, it was time to focus on himself.
He needed the ability to protect his own life before worrying about anyone else.
"I’m alcoming."
Tang Lubao was discussing with Gu Xiang which martial art suited him best.
"The Ying Purity Art won’t work. That’s a virgin cultivation method and starting this late could easily cause backlash."
Gu Xiang walked over to Yue Mingxuan.
He was drenched in sweat while still holding in his horse stance.
Day by day he had grown steadier.
In the beginning, one kick would send him toppling immediately, but later he gradually improved.
Now, even when he gets caught off guard, he could keep his footing.
Then they began dodge training.
"I’ll throw pebbles at you. Do your best to evade them. At first I won’t add internal force. As we go on, they’ll get faster and I’ll add power—if they hit you, it’ll hurt badly. So be careful," Gu Xiang said.
Yue Mingxuan believed her completely.
She absolutely would not go easy on him.
He was beginning to understand, if one wanted to truly improve in martial arts, it was best to learn from someone who could be considered an enemy, because they would show no mercy.
"Alright, I understand. Go ahead."
That night, Shang Qinghua arrived late.
When he came, there was a faint trace of blood at the corner of Yue Mingxuan’s lips.
Yue Mingxuan raised a hand and wiped it away against his chest, then called out for them to continue.
Immediately, pebbles began flying at him from all directions.
Perhaps he was simply too exhausted, his movements lagged slightly behind.
And perhaps Yue Mingxuan really was a natural prodigy.
He had not even begun formal martial training, yet judging by his fundamentals alone, there was no problem at all.
As he dodged, his footwork grew clearer and more defined.
Shang Qinghua stood in a tree watching Yue Mingxuan’s steps and a sense of familiarity began to stirring in his mind.
Amid the seeming disorder there was an underlying pattern. This could not possibly be something Yue Mingxuan had figured out on his own.
Shang Qinghua had noticed days ago that Yue Mingxuan’s footwork was unusual, so he had sent Mo Yi to investigate.
The information that came back stated plainly that Yue Mingxuan had never studied martial arts and possessed no foundation whatsoever.
Then where, exactly, did this sudden surge of ability come from?
Shang Qinghua stood on the tree for quite a while watching him.
He felt that Yue Mingxuan’s footwork was becoming clearer and clearer, yet the clearer it became, the more chaotic and without pattern it seemed, leaving him puzzled.
At last there was a moment to rest.
Yue Mingxuan leaned against a tree.
Tang Lubao signaled for someone behind him to bring tea.
Yue Mingxuan drinking it in just a few gulps.
He breathing heavily as he sat cross-legged while rubbing his ankle.
It still hurt quite a bit, but his progress had been rather fast.
Gu Xiang walked to the spot where Yue Mingxuan had been standing and looked at the pattern of steps he had traced in the sand.
Sure enough, she noticed that no matter how he dodged, he had never stepped outside a certain circle, he had remained within it the whole time.
From his vantage point above, Shang Qinghua had seen this clearly as well.
He drifted lightly down and landing beside Yue Mingxuan.
At that moment, a young maid appeared before everyone.
Not long after Shang Qinghua landed, she emerged from the direction of the Midnight Blades, dressed in plain white with a silver hairpin atop her head.
She was smiling asshe greeted the group.
Gu Xiang narrowed her eyes and feel like she looked somewhat familiar, she’s a young girl from the Flying Opera Group.
She was simply too young; until now she had rarely been sent on missions and mostly kept inside to be raised or to study.
Why had she come out?
From a distance she gave a respectful salute and nodding toward Gu Xiang. Then she walked over to Yue Mingxuan who is crouched beside him and whispered something in his ear.
After that she yawned and turned around to leave, apparently heading back to sleep.
Yue Mingxuan’s eyes darkened, so there really were people intending to kill Rong Qinglei and without hesitation they had dispatched several top-tier assassins at once.
Just what secret did Rong Qinglei know about that person? Or was it simply a matter of wanting him to withdraw from the struggle for the throne?
After a long silence, Yue Mingxuan finally made up his mind.
Since this conflict could not be avoided, then victory had to be assured.
He could not continue drifting through his days like this.
He needed not only to protect himself but also those he wished to protect—he could not allow them to be harmed.
With that thought, he did not rest any longer and stood up.
"Continue."
Gu Xiang raised an eyebrow. "Starting again now?"
Why was he getting up after such a short break today?
Normally he would refuse to move unless he had rested for at least half an incense stick.
Still, she nodded and let out a whistle.
The people waiting in the corner who were responsible for throwing stones began to prepare.
Yue Mingxuan straightened his sleeves and stepped back into the center of the circle he had drawn earlier.
As he lowered his head, he caught sight of that strange pattern once more.
This was the very spot where he had just been standing?
In truth, he had already noticed the changes in his body earlier.
Those movements and steps had all been natural reactions.
Whenever Yue Mingxuan sensed something off, he simply let his body move on its own.
