In Another World, Everyone Want to Kill Me!-Chapter 352: Shang Qinghua and Rong Zishen
Yue Mingxuan quickly run toward the main hall, only to arrive just in time to witness Shang Qinghua and Rong Zishen locked in a tense standoff.
The two men appeared to have just gone through a fierce battle and each of them standing firmly in their place unmoving.
For a fleeting moment, Yue Mingxuan wanted nothing more than to raise the Dumdum gun and shoot that bastard on the opposite side to show him exactly what he was capable of.
But he forced himself to suppress the impulse.
Instead, he stepped to Shang Qinghua’s side and asked, "Why didn’t you tell me?"
Shang Qinghua immediately pulled him behind himself. "I don’t want you to get hurt."
Yue Mingxuan placed one of the Dumdum guns into his hand. "And you think I want you to be the one getting hurt?"
There was a trace of displeasure in his tone and it was clear enough for Shang Qinghua to hear. Yet Shang Qinghua simply lowered his head slightly and said, "You’re different."
Since he was young, his striking appearance had drawn the attention of many people.
But those people had all been too ordinary in his eyes and none of them ever truly moved him.
So even if they had thrown themselves into danger for him, even if they had sacrificed everything, he would not have felt even the slightest stir of emotion.
From a young age, he had been instilled with a single and unwavering belief: no matter what, when he grew up, he had to find someone known as the Imperator Jin and marry them.
Because of that, he had always known that he had no right to fall in love with anyone else.
As for that so-called "Imperator Jin," he had never even met them, so naturally, he felt nothing toward them.
He had simply thought that living out his life in such a manner might not be so bad.
That was, until he met Yue Mingxuan.
He was lively, spirited and utterly unlike anyone else.
Whenever he saw Yue Mingxuan smile, his own mood would lift without him even realizing it.
Although at the beginning he had not harbored much affection, things were no longer the same now.
He had fallen for Yue Mingxuan.
He knew it clearly and knew it all too well, along with the position he stood in and yet, Yue Mingxuan possessed a kind of pull that made him want to risk everything, to let go of all restraint.
He simply wanted to be with Yue Mingxuan.
There was no reason for it.
Perhaps that was what liking someone truly felt like.
The Prince Shang who had never loved anyone before had in the end fallen straight into Yue Mingxuan’s hands.
While holding the Dumdum gun Yue Mingxuan had given him, he let out a bitter smile.
Across from him, Rong Zishen no longer had much strength left to fight.
If he were to fire this shot now, Rong Zishen would undoubtedly be blown apart without a trace.
"Go!" Just as Shang Qinghua raised the gun, he heard Keshun Sanfeng’s voice.
The man looked much older now, his body weaker than before, yet there was a resolute death-defying determination about him.
A sense of foreboding flashed through Shang Qinghua’s mind and in the next moment, he could only watch as Keshun Sanfeng took Rong Zishen and retreated.
Yue Mingxuan, however, had no intention of letting such a chance slip by.
He quickly raised the Dumdum gun in his hands and fired in Rong Zishen’s direction.
But at that very instant, Keshun Sanfeng shoved Rong Zishen aside and took the full force of the shot himself.
When Yue Mingxuan saw this, even the hand that had pulled the trigger froze.
Yet the bullet had already been fired.
Keshun Sanfeng’s body was riddled with holes in an instant.
Rong Zishen was equally stunned, he had only just reunited with Keshun Sanfeng during this time and Keshun Sanfeng had always treated him with a certain coldness.
He had thought that Keshun Sanfeng had never truly cared about him and believed that in Keshun Sanfeng’s eyes he was nothing but a burden.
What he never expected was that Keshun Sanfeng’s final choice would be like this.
He stood there while staring fixedly at Keshun Sanfeng as if trying to carve that somewhat familiar face into his very soul.
He had never imagined Keshun Sanfeng would act this way, and now, all he felt was an overwhelming sense of gratitude.
"The Nine Abyssal Gate... I leave it to you."
Those were Keshun Sanfeng’s final words before he died.
It was the only time Rong Zishen had ever felt truly moved.
He had never imagined that this was what Keshun Sanfeng had been thinking all along.
Rong Zishen had always thought that he was nothing more than a tool to Keshun Sanfeng—that the thin thread of blood between them was merely an excuse Keshun Sanfeng used to control him.
When Concubine Keshun died, he had not seen even the slightest trace of sorrow on Keshun Sanfeng’s face.
Because of that, he had long believed Keshun Sanfeng to be a cold-blooded creature, someone who would never feel grief over anyone.
He had never imagined that Keshun Sanfeng would go so far for him.
"Father!" It was the first time Rong Zishen had ever called Keshun Sanfeng that and it would also be the last.
After that cry, Rong Zishen turned and ran without another word, fleeing with all his strength.
Shang Qinghua did not have the strength to give chase, yet he knew that if Rong Zishen were allowed to escape, it would bring about far greater turmoil.
He immediately ordered his men to pursue.
But it was already too late.
In the next moment, Shang Qinghua found himself surrounded by Rong Zishen’s forces.
While clutching his chest, he burned with frustration at his own helplessness, yet there was nothing he could do to change the situation.
He could not give chase and those by his side could not leave him unprotected.
