She always dismissed these comments with a smile, never responding.

As fewer people spoke in the chat room, Leng Shuangshuang closed it and opened her chat with Xiao Jiu, sending a daily greeting as usual before browsing other sites.

This was something she had been accustomed to for years. Whether Xiao Jiu was online or not, she would send a greeting. He always seemed busy, rarely replying.

Over the years, she had already considered Xiao Jiu a friend. Sometimes, when she felt down, she’d send him a message, knowing he most probably wouldn’t reply, but it comforted her. After all, she didn’t have to put on a brave face in front of a stranger.
