Indulging Mrs. Lu-Chapter 939 - 936: You Ate Less—Is That My Fault?
Before she could react, that strong and powerful hand reached over, pulling her along. When they got to his car, without a word, he shoved her into the passenger seat, then got in himself and started the car...
After arriving downstairs at her dormitory, Lu Xinyun finally realized this was not a dream!
"Get out of the car," he said.
Lu Xinyun gave an "oh" and got out of the car, heading towards the dormitory.
After a short while, she turned back and saw Nangong Xuan striding over. She stopped in front of him, "Nangong Xuan, how come you’re coming back so late?"
Nangong Xuan gave her a cold glance, not intending to answer her question, and walked forward.
She chased after him again, "Nangong Xuan, wait a minute, I haven’t finished talking."
The man ahead stopped at her voice, and said in a deep voice, "What on earth do you want to say?" Nangong Xuan was feeling quite annoyed and was regretting his actions for the first time.
"Um... could I trouble you to get me something to eat? I’m... I’m hungry."
He raised his eyebrows, "Didn’t you have dinner?"
"I did, but I only had a little bit."
The knowing look on Nangong Xuan’s exquisite face suggested he figured by "a little bit," she meant a full portion.
Seeing that Nangong Xuan didn’t answer her, she continued, "I really only ate a little, just one serving of pasta. If you hadn’t made me angry today, I wouldn’t have eaten so little!"
Upon hearing this, Nangong Xuan’s expression instantly darkened, "Are you saying it’s my fault that you didn’t eat enough?"
Under the dim streetlight, Lu Xinyun earnestly nodded, "Yes!" She could have eaten a proper meal, but later could only manage a serving of pasta, and it was all his fault. 𝙧𝙚𝙚𝔀𝒆𝓫𝓷𝙤𝓿𝒆𝙡.𝒄𝙤𝓶
Nangong Xuan’s mouth twitched slightly, and he turned away to leave.
"Hey~ wait~ hey..."
Lu Xinyun chased him all the way to the dormitory door, but he shut her outside. Looking at the tightly closed door, she sadly rubbed her stomach and turned to head back to her own room.
When she was a child, her brother told her that if she was too hungry to sleep, she could count sheep, and before long she would doze off.
Lu Xinyun lay on the bed, pitifully curled up under the covers, and began to count sheep.
At first, the more she counted, the hungrier she became, imagining the sheep as roasted lamb. Later, she got smarter and started counting stars, fantasizing about a sky full of stars, and soon enough she felt dizzy, then drifted off to sleep...
The next day, at dawn, her alarm clock by the bed was ringing incessantly, and Lu Xinyun groggily reached out to turn it off, then tried to continue sleeping. However, her stomach would not cooperate, growling loudly.
Lu Xinyun had no choice but to get up, change into her workout clothes, freshen up a bit, and head outside.
In front of the company’s dormitory, there was a small park, where she noticed people jogging in the morning. Thinking that running outside would help her lose weight and let her breathe fresh air, she decided on the spot to exercise there every morning.
The past couple of days at home, she could run for half an hour, but today she couldn’t last a few minutes, she was just too hungry.
After a brief rest, Lu Xinyun walked towards the side of the dormitory cafeteria.
At this time, there were very few people in the cafeteria, just a scattered few, mostly newcomers without any gigs.
Lu Xinyun went up to the window and ordered several snacks. Satisfied, she carried her tray to find a seat when suddenly she heard a scoff from behind. She frowned and turned around to see Nangong Xuan, who had refused to buy her food last night, standing there with his hands in his pockets looking at her.
