Infinite Adaptation: Starting As A Level 1 Slime-Chapter 20: Rapid Regeneration
Everyone watched in tense silence.
"Lord Lunaris," Roselle called out.
She placed her hand on her chest.
"This servant made a mistake and was corrupted by abyssal energy, bringing shame to your great name. The Lord need not worry - I will take care of it."
"Wait, don’t..."
"I know the Lord is extremely kind and would not have the heart to do it," she continued smoothly. "That is why I, your most loyal servant, exist. To take on the heavy responsibility."
Lunaris just stared at her.
She’s not listening to me at all.
He felt a thread of nervousness crawl through his form.
From what he had just witnessed, she was insanely strong. Even if he teamed up with Luna, he wasn’t sure they could beat her.
It seems I made a miscalculation.
He had checked her with Appraisal earlier and seen her abilities and some basic information. He had assumed that was all there was to it. He had assumed her rank was D, just like Luna.
But it seemed his Appraisal wasn’t that accurate. It judged based on mana and didn’t understand physical strength or skill effects properly.
Now, with her being stronger than him and having an ungodly talent for twisting his words, he was practically just a toy she kept around to pray to.
Ah.
He suddenly had a realization.
There was one thing she listened to.
"Listen to my orders."
His voice was cold and serious.
Roselle dropped to her knees instantly, head bowed.
"The Lord really shouldn’t do this," she said, her voice nervous. "Those corrupted by abyssal energy cannot maintain their rationality. And he is already fatally wounded. I understand the Lord’s magnanimity, but he really is beyond saving."
"Who said that?"
She froze.
"Do you underestimate your Lord?" Lunaris continued. "Is there anything in this world that I cannot do?"
Roselle’s forehead smashed against the ground.
"I apologize for being short-sighted!"
He sighed.
Then his slime body extended, forming a flexible tentacle-like appendage that reached toward Milo.
Mira and Roselle instantly shifted into battle-ready stances, prepared to move the second anything unexpected happened.
"I apologize to the Lord," Milo said weakly, blood still dripping from his lips.
Suddenly, Lunaris’s body expanded and swallowed him whole.
The others froze in shock.
Before they could even process what had happened, he spat Milo back out.
The man landed on the ground and winced, clutching his chest.
"Roselle," Lunaris said calmly. "Check if he’s still corrupted."
I stored him and used Isolation to separate the abyssal energy. He should be fine now.
Roselle moved cautiously toward Milo. She knelt beside him, her hand hovering over his body. A moment passed.
Her eyes widened.
"As expected of the Lord!" she exclaimed, awe flooding her voice. "The corruption is gone!"
Then her expression sobered.
"Though... he is still fatally injured. This level of damage would need at least a mid-level healing potion to treat. Which we do not have."
Lunaris looked at the hole in Milo’s chest.
"I thank the Lord," Milo said, managing a weak smile. "Thanks to you, I can die as a follower. Just like I’ve lived."
"Don’t be in such a hurry to die," Lunaris replied flatly. "You’re valuable manual labor. We can’t afford to lose you."
He jumped onto Milo’s chest, his slime body spreading to cover the wound completely.
Then he concentrated.
Self-Regeneration.
This was one of the abilities he had intrinsically as a slime. But it only worked on himself, and it wasn’t strong enough to heal such a severe wound on another person.
He thought back to earlier. He had managed to take an internal ability like Analysis and project it outward into Appraisal.
If he used the same concept...
He felt something snap inside him.
His Thought Acceleration had improved to 250x.
Although it was a small improvement compared to the earlier doubling, combined across his multiple threads, it made a significant difference.
With the increased processing power, he began converting the Self-Regeneration ability, using mana to project it outward. And since it now operated through mana, he could adjust the output to control the healing effect.
Though it wasn’t as simple as just increasing output to increase healing. One might explode if unstable mana was injected into them.
But with his Thought Acceleration and concurrency, he could easily make the necessary calculations and ensure a balanced output.

Skill Evolution: Self-Regeneration → Rapid Regeneration (Extra Skill)
It worked. The skill advanced.
This should be much better compared to before.
He steadily projected the mana into the wound. Slowly, the flesh began to knit together. The hole started to close.
He watched the healing process carefully.
It’s a little slower than I expected. Maybe it works better when used internally than through mana projection.
After a while, the wound sealed completely.
He jumped off the body.
"There. Good as new."
Milo looked at himself, his hand touching his chest in disbelief. It was like he had never been injured at all.
At that moment, he felt a chill run down his spine.
He noticed Roselle’s piercing gaze fixed on him.
He quickly understood.
"I thank the Lord for his benevolence!" Milo dropped to his knees, pressing his forehead to the ground.
Lunaris waved it off.
Then he bounced toward the spider’s corpse.
Since this one is corrupted too, we’d have to abandon it and hunt something else. But that would be too much of a loss.
He stored the massive body and isolated the abyssal energy within it.
"I’ve solved the corruption for this one too," he announced. "I’ll carry it, so you all can rest."
"There is no way we could make the Lord do that..." Roselle began.
"It’s fine. It isn’t any effort to me anyway."
Crack.
A branch snapped somewhere in the trees.
Everyone turned instantly, bodies tense.
"Who goes there?" Roselle demanded.
From behind a tree, a woman stepped into view. She had pointy ears, long green hair that flowed past her shoulders, and wore a beautiful dress that seemed out of place in the forest.
She raised her hands slowly.
"I didn’t intend to spy on you."
Roselle’s expression twisted with fury.
"Traitor," she spat. "You dare show yourself beneath the light of the moon?"
Her claws extended once more.
"Are you tired of living?"
