Bombarded with information, Cliff slowly processed the information instead of skimming information instead. The fact that he has so many unused active skills is so embarrassing, he could’ve used all of these skills during his previous combat encounters. His gold-fish memory and low INT status are affecting him, to the point that his professional player– was it called player? Wait, what is it called again?

Nevermind. This isn’t the most pressing issue, right now his skills are certainly getting rusty. The escort mission is perfect for testing out these skills.

"These A.S are pretty self-explanatory, so there’s no need for me to check their descriptions... Well, except for the first two. What’s the difference between the two?" Cliff mumbled silently as two more interfaces appeared but this time they were pretty short.

[ Power Shot:

An active skill that allows the user to sacrifice speed, distance and accuracy to increase the power/impact of the arrow while using this skill. ]

[ Focused Shot:

An active skill that allows the user to sacrifice power to increase speed, accuracy, and the traveling distance of the arrow while using this skill. ]

What the hell? It is different from the [ Focused Shot ] that I knew from the game; Infinite Dungeon. I’ve been using it wrong this entire time. I feel totally stupid...! No wonder it kept significantly damaging the bows I had...!

His heart grew even more heavier and the emotions that were once there were swelling up again. The feeling of hopelessness, regret, shame, and wanting to turn back time swelled inside his heart and started to reach his mind.

[ "Calm & Composed" Activated! ]

Suddenly, his mind calmed down. It was a bit uncomfortable because it ’forced’ his emotions to calm down. Thanks to that though, he decompressed himself and started to calm down more.

This would’ve been helpful earlier... it’s pointless to think about that now, I should be grateful that it’s happening now... yikes.

Thankfully, there are some merits to doing the escort mission even though it’s mandatory. Thanks to the discovery of the skillsets, it’s an event that grants him an opportunity to try out these skills.

Alright, the physical skills issue is solved. Onto the next interface!

This skill that just popped up must be one of the "Passive" skills. These types of skills are always present and sometimes require something to happen to even activate. For example, what just happened right now.

[ Ranger: Passive Skills ]

[ Keen Sight ] [ Hunter’s Focus ]

[ Swiftness ] [ Scouting ]

[ Calm & Composed ] [ Danger Sense ]

[ Fauna Cognizance ] [ Search ]

<••••••••••••••••••••••••>

These skills are more familiar but harder to understand without reading what it does. It’s better to ACTUALLY read the vague ones than assume what it does.

I’m not gonna make that mistake again.

To make things easier for me, it’s better if I skim the obvious skills and read the vague ones.

After minutes of skimming and reading. Cliff found out a lot of his passive skills that are available to him. They are surprisingly useful off-combat and in-combat. Normally, some of these passive skills would be spells but thanks to the [ Ranger ] Class, it became part of their natural, instinctive abilities.

Which is why he did great by choosing the [ Ranger ] Class at the beginning. Though, these skills didn’t come in handy during the early game, is it because he hadn’t unlocked them due to the level locks? If so, then he shouldn’t feel bad or regretful.

"Yeah, more self-love." He unconsciously affirmed out loud. The others looked at him weirdly, but they couldn’t judge him. The dude’s a kid, they don’t know what he is thinking.

Back to the passive skills. [ Keen Sight ] is the ability to see the far distance and to notice small details up close. A pretty normal passive for a Ranger to have.

[ Swiftness ] is a passive ability to increase his speed and evasion rate by 10% for 30 seconds. Pretty normal too.

[ Calm & Composed ] is a passive ability that forcefully removes or negates negative thoughts and emotions from the user experiencing distress or panic from internal or external problems. Now this? It’s pretty overpowered. The extent of this ability is unknown and if it does what he thinks it does, then this is one of the best passive hands down.

[ Hunter Sense ] is a passive ability that allows the user to detect incoming danger from an animal or beast-like creature. It could only work once on surprise attacks from beasts. Upon noticing, it wouldn’t detect danger because it is up to the user to manually sense the attack pattern. It makes sense, not mad about it. I wonder if it could evolve into something else.

These four are the most obvious ones so far, it’s time to get into the ones that are vague and need to be read.

[ Scouting ] is a passive ability to hide yourself among shadows and darkness, increasing stealth and allowing the user to see the field more clearly by 10%.

[ Search ] is a passive ability that is similar to that of a GPS. It is an automatic detector, though it needs to be very specific and reliant on the user’s mind. If the user wants to search for a certain type of grass, the search passive ability will activate for 1 minute and enter a cooldown that lasts 5 minutes. Honestly? Balanced. Spamming [ Search ] is breaking the system.

[ Fauna Cognizance ] is a passive ability that is always active. It allows the user to understand basic animal/beast language. Though, it doesn’t give the user the ability to speak with animals. Only understand. Pretty nerfed to be completely honest.

Why? BECAUSE MY INT STATUS IS LOW.

That’s all for every passive ability. Cliff had fun reading all of them and it certainly gave him multiple options and ways to fight instead of brute forcing it with just one technique. He wished that he had found out sooner, but better late than never.

He sighed and peeked outside of the carriage. It seems that the clouds are covering the afternoon sun, which makes the weather completely cool down and it won’t give them all a heat stroke.

"Hey, are we on our way to the forkr–"

In his peripheral vision, he found the unconscious hostage opening his eyes. Before the man could even realize what was happening, the lad covered his mouth with his palm to avoid being screamed at.

Arnheid noticed thanks to her reflexes and quickly went in front of the princess, making the lass hide behind her back. The shuffling inside the carriage attracted the people at the front and Enrid came inside.

"Yo– what’s happen– I see, he’s awake!" He smiled before putting his fists together and cracking each of his fingers. The warrior slowly approached the hostage or one of the assassins who tried assassinating them earlier.

After shortening the distance between the warrior and the assassin, he sat down as if he were a thug or a gangster before asserting his words of wisdom.

"You better speak or I’ll rip your jaw out of your fucking skull," Enrid smirked mischievously, him being a former criminal helps during interrogations.
