Infinite Evolution: My Idle Evolution System-Chapter 291: Tri-Elemental Gorgon, Rank 4 Nightmare Beasts
"Haiz… So boring," Cassius said, feeling barely a pinch when an Early Rank 4 Nightmare hit him with everything it had. "Maybe I should've just focused on the hunt for Soul Eaters instead," he muttered while being launched into a wall protected by strong sword intent.
SHING! SHING! SHING!
"At least this sword intent puts up a decent fight," he said whilst leisurely evading the blackish-gold spinning swords whizzing past him. "Each individual one is roughly as strong as those big, raging idiots over there, but when they work together like this, their overall combat prowess greatly increases."
"Still," he continued coldly, grabbing one of the large illusory black swords mid-air. "Even while attacking in perfect synchronicity, they have yet to achieve the Mid 4th Rank Nightmare level. And unless they're at least as strong as that Soul Eater was, they won't be capable of threatening my life."
If they weren't even able to kill him, then what was the point in fighting them?
All the self-prep he did to prepare himself to die repeatedly felt more than a bit meaningless right about now…
Just as that thought formed in his mind, a loud rumbling suddenly reverberated. It boomed out so ridiculously loudly that the Early Rank 4 Nightmares lost their footing while attacking Cassius; they wound up falling on their butts or crashing into the wall behind him.
"Hmm?" Cassius's brows raised in interest as he nonchalantly decapitated the remainder of the Early Rank 4 Nightmares and absorbed their Nightmare Essence. "It seems that some fun has finally found its way to me."
The Gorge wall opposite the one he floated next to started to crack. The crack began as a tiny fracture, but in less than a couple seconds, it exponentially widened and became larger than most cities. After another second, it broadened to that of large-sized countries, with rocks the size of Manhattan breaking off the wall and shattering against the ground.
Right then, the massive crack in the wall exploded outward!
The residual debris from the explosion resulted in the death of numerous Rank 3 and Rank 4 Nightmares. Yet, the colossal entity that caused these deaths cared not the least bit about the loss of its own kind. It instead stretched out its four very large spiked wings and roared at a decibel level that left weaker Nightmares dying in a pool of their own blood.
That was when the impassive Cassius saw it—a three-headed draconic Nightmare with two sets of wings and three pairs of legs. Looking at its System Interface, he saw:
[Tri-Elemental Gorgon]
[Realm: Mid Rank 4]
[Approximate Battle Power: Half-step SSS-Rank]

"Mid Rank 4?" Cassius said with furrowed brows, the air beneath him crackling with electricity. "How interesting."
*Fwooop—!*
He blurred forward, leaving catastrophic destruction in his wake. Even larger numbers of Nightmares perished, with the amount only ever increasing.
Upon arriving in front of the multi-colored dragon-like creature, Cassius threw out a punch. His fist was coated in a fiery blue flame—one that contained within it an erasure aspect that threatened to tear apart both time and space.

Following the complete activation of the Technique, everything in front of Cassius started to rapidly disintegrate. The Azura Flames engulfed the atmosphere, the surrounding Nightmares, and anything else that may have been obstructing its path. The flames then drained all sources of energy from everything they consumed, which thus further improved the intensity of the flame and the strength of the user.
The Tri-Elemental Gorgon—which had just focused its six eyes enough to properly see—was surprised by a massive blue flame that towered over it.
The blue flames achieved an ever-growing size that seemed to trump that of a small planet!
Yet, even with the imminent, astronomical threat before it, the Tri-Elemental Gorgon merely snorted. It then positioned its three different-colored heads toward the limitlessly expanding Azura Flames. Each one of its heads opened up one by one, with energy balls materializing inside. The energy balls matched the colors of the draconic head they were forming inside, which subsequently created an iridescent spectacle that was both beautiful and scarily dangerous.
The moment the Tri-Elemental Gorgon's heads unleashed the beams of light that detached from their energy balls, the distance between them and the Azura Flame was instantly closed. Oxygen within the area depleted to zero, the molecules in the air fried up, and even the ground below melted in a straight circular line, its width ludicrous. The already darkened earth in the Boundless Gorge became even more scorched, with large sections of it cracking and imploding upward.
In the time that it took the Azura Flames to collide with the Tri-Elemental Gorgon's disastrous beam attacks, the surroundings—for thousands upon thousands of miles—looked as if the worst volcanic eruption in history had just gone off.
Time seemed to freeze, with the two colliding forces pulling and pushing away from one another. They momentarily swirled and rebounded off each other, making something akin to a twisted and extremely volatile Yin and Yang sign.
Yet, while both attacks were in the process of figuring out which one would come out on top, a tiny inconspicuous figure phased in between the attacks at an inconceivable speed. The tiny figure then dashed at his maximum speed while standing in the very center of the two swirling forces. The shockwaves from his dash forcefully dispersed both his and the Tri-Elemental Gorgon's attacks, causing the residual energies from the attacks to explode outward.
Using the lethally potent residual energies as a smoke screen, Cassius did not relent in his dash. He blitzed forward, moving almost as fast as teleportation would permit him to move. And because of the high density of mixed, convoluted energies in the area, the Tri-Elemental Gorgon was unable to pinpoint his exact location.
However, with what little it could discern, it used one of its trump cards—Stone Sight—an absolutely broken ability that turned everything it could see into stone. The only drawback was that the radius of effectiveness was rather limited and that it didn't work as well when the target couldn't be pinpointed.
But regardless of these small cons, the Tri-Elemental Gorgon's Stone Sight—with its ridiculous peripheral vision—was able to turn everything within thousands of miles to stone!
"!!!!!"
