Infinite Paths: The Raging Phoenix-Chapter 1299: My turn
Chapter 1299: My turn
Before long, the group arrived in the mechanical knights’ territory. Rain and Terra looked around for a moment, but they found nothing. Still, Rain could sense some vibrations underground. As expected, their base was there, but there were no signs of entrances.
"Well, since I am here, I might as well go all out," Rain said. "I will act like you aren’t here, Terra. That should buy us sometime before the enemies realize your presence."
"No problem," Terra said. "Just use Telepathy if you need something else or if you need to change our plans."
Rain nodded and then touched the ground with his hands. Eventually, he was able to find some passageways hidden underground. He also could sense some vestiges of mana that forced the land to split open for the mechanical knights.
Using his earth magic, Rain forced the entrances to appear as he opened a large fissure in the area. The land resisted Rain’s magical manipulation with a defiant tremor as if nature itself was pushing back against the intrusion. Ignoring that, Rain focused his magical prowess, and with determined effort, he overcame the resistance. The trembling intensified momentarily, but then the earth yielded to his command. The ground split open, revealing hidden passageways leading into the mechanical knights’ territory. Rain’s control over the earth prevailed, marking the triumph of his magical prowess over the stubborn resistance of the land.
Eventually, the area stopped fighting and then eventually was able to find what seemed to be the large entrance of a massive hangar ahead. There were some lights inside, but they soon turned off when Rain looked in their direction.
Rain got up and began to clap his hands to clean them, and soon, he heard the heavy footsteps of the mechanical knights turning and walking to face him. Eventually, dozens of mechanical knights left their hideout to face Rain, and he jumped backward with all his might. Before he could do so, the mechanical knights fired a massive barrage of the tips of their spears being fired.
When the attacks reached him, Rain slapped them away almost with insane ease with his hands. He didn’t move a single inch from his spot, and at the same time, Rain felt the aura of wrath taking over his body. He equipped half of the slots with wrath-related skills for now, but he still felt himself under control.
The onslaught of projectiles felt like steel hitting steel as Rain easily slapped away each spear with almost casual ease. The barrage continued for what seemed like several minutes, but Rain remained untouched. His movements were fluid, and the metallic clang of projectiles meeting an impenetrable force echoed in the air.
As the last of the spears soared towards him, Rain’s untouched form stood amidst a sea of fallen weapons, and they eventually returned to their owners. The mechanical knights, having witnessed their barrage fail to make a single scratch, hesitated, their metallic bodies frozen in uncertainty.
"My turn," Rain said and then used Impulse.
In the next moment, Rain appeared in front of one of the mechanical knights, and he passed through the chest of the creature while punching it. The beast exploded into countless pieces, but then Rain was stabbed by numerous thursts of the enemies around.
Eventually, Rain moved his arms and protected his head and torso from the attacks, but the continuous attacks slowed down his advance that much. The attacks also began to pierce and cut his flesh, but soon, he was healed by Terra, and the pain decreased almost immediately. fгee𝑤ebɳoveɭ.cøm
"My mind is completely clear... it is time to do this," Rain said, and then he began to change his skills.

An aura began to overflow around Rain like it was a dark flame, at the same time, he stopped feeling pain and even the power of the attacks of the monsters. When two spears approached him at the same time, Rain grabbed their tips and then pulled them away from the monsters. They didn’t let them go, so they were pushed toward Rain while stumbling.
Rain quickly jumped and then kicked their heads with a single roundhouse kick and then completely obliterated their heads.

The mechanical knights began to turn dark blue, and their attacks got heavier, but Rain ignored them, letting them hit him as he hit them back. At the same time, Terra healed him from a distance... broken bones were mended almost instantly, but Rain definitely was going to feel all that pain later...
Although Rain didn’t have the chance to enter the base of the enemies since they kept coming nonstop, he decimated their numbers. Eventually, their leader realized that they would have to take things into their own hands...
A dark blue light began to glow in the middle of the hangar, and while Rain ignored it at first and kept fighting, the monsters soon began to move away from him. At the same time, he saw two lines of light in the distance moving like flames.
The enemy began to fly toward him relatively slow, and eventually, Rain was able to see a slightly bigger mechanical knight that was wearing a golden armor...
"You will regret causing so much trouble to me," The golden mechanical knight said.
