"The level of the skills is high… which means that I am truly healing my body, or maybe I am just healing my blood in the ring, and nothing is actually happening," Rain thought.
"I thought that the ring would accumulate mana first and would only try that when it had enough mana, but… Anyway, I should check these skills over time and check their progress and hope that they will speed things up… I guess I should keep the Healer's path equipped as well."
The ring was apparently doing what was supposed to do, and the skills were getting experience, so Rain just had to be patient, and things eventually would fall into place. Still, while he was meditating, Rain realized that the amount of experience the skills were gaining wasn't increasing if compared to when he wasn't… something was off.
"As if I don't have more worries…" Rain thought and then sighed. "Everyone should have left the area while I was talking with the dragon god… the dragons weren't there either, and with his skills, Seadrei shouldn't have any trouble taking everyone from the battlefield and then taking Branden and Esmeralda as well."
Rain had to focus on what he could do… he couldn't change the past, and keep thinking about things beyond his control was a great way to slowly destroy his sanity. After a lot of effort, Rain was able to forget about that and focus on the task at hand. Enjoy exclusive adventures from novelbuddy
After careful consideration and reflection, Rain assumed that the ring operated in its usual manner, continuously absorbing and storing mana as it normally did. His reasoning behind this discrepancy was that the majority of the mana being absorbed by the ring was directed towards storage, essentially hoarding the energy within itself.
Consequently, the portion of mana that Rain's body could access for his healing skills seemed limited. Instead, it appeared that this accessible mana was primarily utilized to sustain and preserve his blood within the ring, ensuring its vitality and functionality… meditating more wouldn't change a thing about that… it would only make more mana to be stored.
"Since that is the case, the ring will revive me when it has enough mana to pull that off… I can't even imagine how much mana it will need to recreate a human body using only a small amount of blood," Rain thought. "The mana will essentially will be used to multiply my cells a bunch of times... that might take a while."
Now that Rain thought about it, his plan was pretty insane… it was working, but it was insane. Still, the merits and demerits seemed to make a perfect balance since it might take years for the process to be concluded.
Rain suddenly had one idea… could he turn his mana into experience to make his skills improve? If that was possible, then leveling up paths and himself should be possible as well… the real question was: would that make him be revived faster?
"Understanding this might give me an edge to counter the power of the dragon god…" Rain thought. "As someone from the Earth of the same time as me, he would understand that understanding how the system works would be very important… he should have realized that once he confirmed that we are still on Earth."
Thinking about how the system worked was something Rain found interesting and helped him kill a lot of time and keep himself safe. He knew the system gave rewards for actions, like gaining knowledge or getting stronger, but he didn't know exactly how it did that. He guessed that when he did something, the system might turn the energy he used into something useful, like experience points or levels.
So, Rain wanted to try something. He wondered if he could use his magical power in his mind to get more experience and levels from the system. He hoped this experiment would show him how the system worked and if doing things in his mind could give him rewards in the system.
It took a long while, but eventually, he got some results… the results came when Rain tried to recall what he knew about biology and the nature of human anatomy. When he thought of those pieces of information and while he was sacrificing mana at the same time, he finally pulled it off.
The skill Ancestral Knowledge leveled up.
The healer's path received 360 experience points.
"Oh, I see now…" Rain thought. "Using mana while putting in practice some knowledge is the trick. Mana isn't the only thing of course… stamina also can be used."
Now that he thought about it, some healing skills worked to deal with some negative effects like poison and burns probably only made the bodies of the patient have the necessary nutrients or antibodies to deal with the poison… the knowledge that Rain had of those skills was minimal… he only knew that he had to apply mana in the right place with a certain intention and then everything else would be solved by itself.
The human body is primarily composed of several chemical elements crucial for life, including oxygen, carbon, hydrogen, nitrogen, calcium, phosphorus, potassium, sodium, magnesium, and sulfur. Collectively, these chemical components form the building blocks of the human body, supporting its structure, functions, and overall health… with all that in mind…
