Infinite Paths: The Raging Phoenix-Chapter 934: Small
"I can see him?" Esmeralda asked. "I don't have anything to say to him, and I also found it weird that you kept him alive."
"Well, it depends on your definition of alive," Rain said. "I sealed him away to find a better way to use his skills and knowledge. Even until now, he didn't say anything about how Joanis obtained all that knowledge, and I can't force him to do that since I have another troublesome guest."
Rain's explanations had left his companions more confused and uncertain than before. The complexity and implications of his strategies, among other things, seemed to increase the confusion rather than offer clarity. Realizing the growing perplexity among his friends, Rain took a different approach to convey his thoughts and ideas.
He made the decision to bring them into his mental landscape. Initially caught off guard, his friends were surprised, not anticipating a sudden teleportation. However, they quickly realized that they hadn't physically moved anywhere.
As Rain guided them into his mental landscape, they experienced a surreal sensation—a shared consciousness where thoughts and ideas manifested visually and tangibly. It wasn't a physical location, but rather a mental construct where Rain could materialize his thoughts to some extent.

Before anyone could say anything, Esmeralda looked to the side and then saw Iori. As usual, he was in the corner of the room with his arms crossed with a serious expression. He was thinking about something troublesome for sure.
"You are indeed alive, Iori…" Esmeralda said while studying her little brother, who she hadn't seen in one hundred years. "You look like Dad if he had worked out a bit more in his younger years."
"I am amazed that you can still think that you can talk to me like that," Iori furrowed his eyebrows. "You are a traitor, and you still think that you are a queen?"
"I am not going to delve into the intricacies of the role of a ruler, but I dare say that I did a better job than you all," Esmeralda said. "I didn't bring thousands, tens of thousands, to their deaths with my actions, after all. You two started stupid wars for stupid reasons."
"You did a better job when all you had done in the last one hundred years was to hide?" Iori asked. "That is funny."
"We were forced to hide because of your stupid actions. You should have at least proved yourself to be a real man and faced Rain if you had something against him," Esmeralda said and then sighed. "... One hundred years later, and you are still as stupid as a ten year old kid."
"... What did you say?" Iori said after he moved from the wall of his room.
"So, this is what is called a heartwarming family reunion, huh?" Rain asked.
"You got that right," Nigel said.
"What is this place, Rain?" Branden asked. "Who are these people?"
"My underlings, until I find better use for them," Rain shrugged. "Killing some people is hard and most often, not very efficient, so I am keeping some of them here for knowledge and expertise."
Rain's explanations to his friends provided only a brief glimpse into the capabilities of the domain, leaving them with a vague understanding of its functionalities. Still, even Rain with his modern knowledge took a while to understand how things worked there, so it couldn't be helped.
Their limited knowledge was compounded by the pressing urgency of their situation. Time constraints meant they couldn't delve deeply into understanding the full scope and intricacies of Rain's domain.
Realizing the constraints and the urgency of the impending threats posed by the dragons, Rain decided to shift focus and return to the real world with his companions. In the real world, Rain revealed the relics he had discovered during his explorations all around the world while he also looked for the dragons… but soon he ignored that as well.
Without wasting anymore time, Rain expanded his domain and made everyone fly toward the sky on an ice platform. While they were going up, they saw the people below looking around trying to find them, and they didn't even try to look upward. Esmeralda soon realized that Rain was using a disguise as well.
The others eventually realized that… at the same time, they confirmed that Rain could come as he saw fit and no one would be able to see him, which showed how much power he had.
That made everyone think that being overly cautious around him was useless, even though they couldn't trust him completely yet…
In any case, soon they reached a point where they could see the planet from space and they also could see the dragons territory and the massive snowstorm expanding…
"Only thirty dragons caused that?" Asche asked. "I can only imagine that they are much more powerful than anything we have ever seen before."
"You are right," Rain said. "They are only below the dragon god in terms of power. I want to stop them as soon as possible, but this battle will require other levels of preparation. The last time I tried to do everything by myself and it didn't work. At the same time, you and others were forced to live on difficult situations, so we have to avoid that."
The sight of their home planet from the vantage point called a deep and inexplicable feeling among everyone present. Gazing upon the planet they called home in such a distant and awe-inspiring manner stirred emotions and thoughts that transcended their understanding. It was a mixture of wonder, fascination, and a sense of smallness in the vastness of the cosmos.
The expansive view showcased numerous stars dotting the black canvas of space, each twinkling with brilliance. The distant but radiant presence of the sun illuminated the surroundings, providing a sense of warmth and familiarity even from such a distance. With Rain's assistance, they even saw the distant beauty of Saturn, its majestic rings casting a spellbinding aura in the celestial expanse…
