Infinite Paths: The Raging Phoenix-Chapter 945: Solving issues
Two days later, they reached their destination and they found the other group there. They had secluded themselves from the snowstorm by surrounding themselves with massive earth walls. The kids of Rain’s friends were very impressed since they doubled the size of their base and still were able to protect it from all the snow and cold.

Everyone smiled when they saw each other after so long, but in the end, they didn’t have time for anything else Aside from a simple handshake.
"Around forty percent of the people of the first camp decided to stay behind and take their chances against this weather," Esmeralda said when all of the leaders moved to her home to talk about the situation. "We have ten thousand people that can fight and other ten thousand that work on other aspects."
Rain looked at his grandparents and they looked a bit troubled since they wanted to have convinced everyone… given enough time, they would have done that, but they didn’t. In the end, Leiah tapped on their backs while smiling. They did what they could have done, and there was nothing else that anyone could have asked of them.
"We can use both bases to approach the ice dragons," Seadrei said. "We can rest for a day and then put that plan in action, the real question is how many of them we can defeat before they find out about plans."
"Their location is also a problem, flying around their territory will take days," Sealyn added. "Fortunately, we can delay their plans a lot by each one of them we kill and ultimately, they will be forced to retreat or fight us, that will stop their plans for at least a short while."
"Two of them are in the mountains, close to the ocean, that is the distance that they are from each other, all of them," Rain said.
Everyone looked troubled after hearing that… from South to north, the mountains could reach a distance of three thousand kilometers. They would need a full day to cross that distance while transporting many people. That being said, they will need half of it if they split up.
"I think Dad and the others should join Branden group, that should make things a bit more even," Sealyn said. "Since our numbers are higher with the demi humans and we are more specialized in fighting dragons."
Rain had to deal with conflicting emotions regarding his desire to fight alongside all his friends and family. Deep within, he wanted to stand shoulder to shoulder with every person he cared for, ensuring their safety and striving to minimize any potential losses. However, openly expressing this sentiment would be dangerous in such a situation..
His call for unity and cooperation, urging everyone to set aside their differences and rally toward a common goal, was born from the danger of the impending battle. To voice his preference to fight exclusively alongside his closest companions risked exposing a dissonance with the shared objective.
It could inadvertently convey a prioritization of his personal connections over the collective mission, a sentiment that would be dangerous to share.
Rain recognized the importance of solidarity and collaboration in confronting the imminent threat posed by the ice dragons. He encouraged unity among the group, emphasizing the necessity of working collectively to ensure their success against the formidable adversaries.
However, admitting his desire to shield specific individuals above the collective effort would be beyond dangerous and hypocritical.
"That seems the best option, but we still need some means to talk to each other over long distances in order to plan our actions with more efficiency," Esmeralda said.
No one had any convenient tool that actually would solve that problem, so they looked to Rain for a solution, in times like that, he usually would be the one who would come out with something very convenient.
"Don’t look at me like that, I am not a box that solves all of your problems," Rain shrugged. "... That being said, I can try a few things and see what we can do, I can’t guarantee anything, though."
"We will take what we can get, we will help you too," Roan said while tapping on Rain’s shoulders.
"Most of the soldiers will have to rest, while the rest of us will have to organize our numbers and resources," Regis said. "We didn’t bring many things since we can’t afford to let this battle last for too long. How much time do we have?"
"The temperature is dropping by five percent everyday… it won’t take long until only a handful of us can keep fighting, things will get harsher as we approach the enemies domain," Rain explained.
"In that case, we have to solve all of our problems in the next day, two at the max," Regis said. "Let’s split up the work."
Rain initially had many reservations about Regis, seeing him as potentially more of a hindrance than an asset, primarily based on the initial impression Regis projected. However, Rain soon found himself pleasantly surprised as Regis proved to be far more capable and helpful than expected.
Acknowledging that his initial judgment had been wrong, Rain felt a sense of gratitude for being proven wrong about Regis. He appreciated the unexpected competence and dedication Regis displayed, that also decreased his work and worries tremendously.
Once their roles were delineated, Regis teamed up with Sealyn and Seadrei, forming a group tasked with specific responsibilities. Rain observed with a hint of relief that Regis collaborated effectively with the Sea Folk leaders, contributing positively to their shared efforts.
Meanwhile, Terra, Danny, Annie, and Rain’s parents joined forces with Branden and Esmeralda, forming another subgroup designed for a different set of tasks.
Rain didn’t waste time and began to work on his own things. The first thing was to create a platform that would support the base of Branden camp that would just like the second. That was easier, the second thing was the real issue… coming up fast with a means of communication.
