However, their past experiences had taught them to remain cautious even in the absence of immediate danger. The group maintained their guard, uncertain of the true nature and potential threat posed by these peculiar, lifeless cocoons hanging ominously above them.

"These are as big as the others…" Rain furrowed his eyebrows.

"Shouldn't we destroy them, Dad?" Danny asked.

"We can at least try for science…" Rain said while looking around and see that the environment changed a bit as well, the walls were even more brighter than before. "Usually, attacking monsters in this kind of situation wouldn't do us any good, but we can't just keep advancing ignoring them."

The ceiling was filled with those coccons, even in a small section of that floor, they could see hundreds of them, after all. Regardless, Rain didn't waste anytime and then fired an ice arrow toward one of the cocoons. The thing was pierced with ease and then fell apart after turning into dust.

"... No experience," Rain said after sighing. "Well, I should have known."

"We can ignore them, right?" Annie asked.

"I am not sure," Rain said as he approached and analyzed the dust that once had been the cocoon. "In this kind of situation, things are usually very deceptive… I feel like that no matter what we do, we still will face some problems ahead. Let's do this, we will punch them and then you guys will use earth magic to control the dust and cover the walls to stop all this light."

"This feels like a massive waste of time…" Terra said and then sighed.

Rain cast a subtle glance at Terra, rolling his eyes slightly as he observed her response to the situation. He knew that instilling a sense of caution in their children was crucial, especially in scenarios where potential dangers lurked. However, he sensed Terra's lack of cooperation, and it bothered him.

He understood that their kids, despite being a century old, were still impressionable and could easily adopt attitudes and behaviors modeled by their parents.

He was concerned that if Terra didn't exhibit a prudent approach or demonstrated overconfidence, it might influence their children to do the same in similar situations. Even as adults, often mirrored the behaviors and attitudes of those they looked up to or admired.

Rain recognized the significance of setting a good example, particularly in moments that required vigilance and caution. Despite being a seasoned adventurers, he didn't want to pass on the notion that every situation could be handled with ease or that caution was unnecessary.

In any case, they followed the plan and began to dispose of the cocoons just like that and they also worked on improving the lightning around them. They had just started their exploration three hours ago, and they still had four days before they had to return, so it was fine.

For a while, things remained fine, and the group was able to cross a few kilometers in that floor. Still, soon they all stopped moving when the atmosphere began to change slightly. When they raised their guard, the floor began to tremble as well.

"The mana is awakening… everywhere…" Larisa suddenly said.

Rain frowned when he heard that, he didn't think that mana could be sealed like that, but soon he saw the mana pulsating on the cocoons ahead. When he was about to attack them, Rain heard some noise coming from behind and soon saw some creaturues emerging from the ground, passing though the layer of dirt that the others had summoned as well to cover the walls alongside the dust of the cocoons…

The creatures, initially resembling colossal insects, underwent a weird transformation. Sinewy limbs stretched outward, elongating to an astonishing length. From the creatures' backs emerged delicate yet sharp-looking wings, spreading wide seemed carved out of stone, displaying intricate patterns resembling crystalline formations.

Their bodies, now adorned with these sculpted stone-like wings, retained an otherworldly appearance as if sculpted from the very earth itself. Each limb seemed chiseled with meticulous detail, and the wings exuded an iridescent glint, amplifying the creature's intimidating presence.

The creatures took flight, their massive bodies ascending gracefully into the air despite their colossal size. As they soared overhead, the glow from their crystalline wings intensified, casting an eerie radiance that danced across the walls of the dungeon.

At the same time, the cocoons in the opposite direction began to fall from the ceiling as well and this time, they didn't break apart, they made a squish sound when they hit the ground… Rain didn't like that one bit and when he turned around, he saw the cocoons opening from inside out and revealed the same creatures."

"It looks like your guess was right…" Seara said.

"Never mind that just attack them all while keeping your distance," Rain said.

The claws of the monsters seemed weird, too curved for Rain's tastes… moreover, the monsters didn't do anything and just flew while making sure that they wouldn't give the group any room to escape. They definitely were planning something…

Rain contemplated the idea of unleashing the full force of the fire powers imbued within the hammer. However, a concern halted his impulse. He assumed that wielding such fiery might might risk consuming a substantial amount of oxygen within the dungeon's confines.

Although the dungeon wasn't entirely sealed off from the outside world, burning through excessive oxygen in the enclosed space could pose a risk to their survival. Despite the creatures' apparent threat, risking oxygen depletion seemed an unnecessary gamble.

Instead, in unison with the rest of the group, Rain opted for a less potentially dangerous approach. They launched a barrage of countless wind blades, precision attacks aimed at dissecting the winged insects and halting their encroachment. With calculated precision, they lacerated the creatures, splitting them into multiple fragments.

Yet, to their surprise, their efforts yielded no tangible results. The creatures, split into segments, fell motionless to the ground. However, the respite was short-lived. In a disconcerting turn, the fallen creatures began to mend their bodies, slowly reassembling the fragmented parts as if repairing themselves.
