Infinite Regeneration In The Apocalypse-Chapter 105: Battling The Divine Son
Xander landed gracefully on the ground just twenty meters away from Vogue. His feet touched down without making a sound, his posture completely relaxed and confident as though he was simply taking a casual stroll rather than preparing for combat.
The moment Xander landed, all the other remaining players immediately distanced themselves from the area. They scrambled backward frantically, putting as much space as possible between themselves and the upcoming confrontation. They didn’t stop moving until they had retreated approximately two hundred meters away, far enough to watch the showdown safely without being caught in the crossfire of whatever devastating techniques these two powerhouses would unleash.
The players formed a wide circle around the battlefield, creating a makeshift arena with Vogue and Xander at the center. Nobody wanted to miss witnessing this clash, but nobody was foolish enough to stay close either.
Xander gazed at Vogue with those cold, indifferent eyes that showed no emotion whatsoever. When he spoke, his voice carried an absolute authority that seemed to make the air itself tremble.
"You stand in the presence of a divine being," Xander stated calmly, as though announcing a simple fact rather than making a boastful claim.
He paused for just a moment to let those words sink in, then continued with a single commanding word.
"Kneel!"
Instantly, Vogue felt the crushing force of what seemed like a massive mountain suddenly materialize on his back and slam down on him with impossible weight. The sensation was far worse than the gravity manipulation he had experienced earlier.
The ground beneath Vogue’s feet cracked and spiderwebbed outward in all directions from the sheer pressure being exerted. His body was forced downward against his will, and despite his tremendous strength and dragon-enhanced physique, one of his knees was driven into the cracked pavement.
Vogue couldn’t feel physical pain thanks to his Pain Nullification ability, but he grunted with the effort as he desperately forced his other knee not to touch the ground. He refused to completely kneel before this arrogant opponent.
It genuinely felt as though he was carrying an actual mountain on his back. The weight was distributed evenly across his entire body, pressing down on his shoulders, his spine, his legs. Every muscle in his body was screaming with strain.
His expression changed drastically as he struggled against the invisible force. A single thought dominated his mind with urgent desperation.
’What sort of talent is this!? This isn’t gravity manipulation or telekinesis! This is something else entirely!’
Veins the size of a pinky finger suddenly popped up all over Vogue’s neck, across his back, along his chest. His muscles expanded and bulged grotesquely due to the immense force weighing down on him. Every fiber in his body was being pushed to its absolute limit just to resist collapsing completely.
His face flushed bright red from the exertion as blood rushed to his head. Sweat poured down his forehead despite the cool temperature. His breathing came in harsh, labored gasps as he struggled.
But slowly, inch by painful inch, Vogue began to raise the knee that had been forced into the ground. His leg trembled violently from the effort, but it lifted nonetheless.
"I only ever knelt to two people in my entire life," Vogue growled through clenched teeth, his voice strained but filled with absolute determination. "My parents! And you are definitely not one of them!"
"BOOM!"
Energy suddenly erupted from Vogue’s body in a visible shockwave that rippled outward through the air. He immediately activated his full Dragon Form without holding anything back.
A single massive wing tore from his back in an explosion of flesh and blood, the silver membrane spreading wide. A curved horn elongated from the left side of his head, growing until it was nearly a foot long and gleaming like polished metal. His fingernails extended and thickened, transforming into razor-sharp dragon claws. His left eye turned completely silver, glowing with otherworldly light.
The ground cracked even more severely beneath him as his entire posture straightened. His back became perfectly upright as though the invisible force pressing down on him had suddenly become nothing more than a minor inconvenience.
He stood tall and defiant, completely free of the kneeling position Xander had tried to force him into.
Xander’s eyes narrowed dangerously as he sensed something unexpected happening. A pressure was emanating from Vogue’s transformed body that felt fundamentally wrong to him.
"A half-awakened dragon bloodline," Xander muttered, genuine surprise coloring his usually emotionless tone.
He could feel it clearly now. Dragon Suppression was radiating from Vogue’s partially transformed body, and the bloodline pressure was affecting him directly. His own talents were being suppressed, their effectiveness reduced by approximately twenty percent. Even his energy reserves felt slightly diminished under the weight of this superior bloodline.
Xander genuinely couldn’t believe that someone actually possessed a better bloodline than he did. The Divine Son of the continent, descendant of the ruler, holder of countless advantages and resources, was being bloodline-suppressed by some random nobody from a backwater city.
It was insulting beyond words.
Before Xander could properly react to this revelation or formulate a counter-strategy, Vogue made his move.
Vogue activated Shadow Step and emerged from Xander’s own shadow like a ghost materializing from darkness. He appeared directly behind the Divine Son with his blade already in motion, slicing toward Xander’s neck without any hesitation or mercy. The attack was aimed to decapitate in a single clean stroke.
"Shield!" Xander commanded calmly, showing no visible panic despite the surprise attack.
A perfectly round transparent shield instantly materialized around Xander’s body, forming a protective barrier between him and the incoming blade. The shield appeared in less than a millisecond, fast enough to intercept even Vogue’s enhanced speed.
"Ding!"
The shield successfully blocked Vogue’s blow, the machete striking the transparent barrier with a sharp metallic ring. The impact created visible ripples across the shield’s surface that spread outward from the point of contact.
But Vogue simply sneered at the defensive technique and erupted with even more force. He channeled additional strength into his blade and pushed harder against the barrier.
The transparent shield suddenly developed hairline cracks that spread rapidly across its surface like a spiderweb. The barrier was failing under the sustained pressure.
Xander’s eyebrows furrowed slightly, his expression shifting from complete calm to mild concern. His eyes narrowed as he looked carefully at the blade that was currently blocked by his cracking shield.
He immediately noticed something important. The weapon in Vogue’s hand wasn’t a normal blade at all. The craftsmanship, the materials, the energy signature—everything about it suggested this was a relic weapon of significant grade.
