Infinite Slaughter System: I Kill, Therefore I Ascend!-Chapter 218: Semifinals, Bei Dongshi versus Li Ling! 2
Li Ling looked at the Underworld Lower Judge with a look of perverse satisfaction, his arm stable as he blocked its cross slash with the tip of his Asura Reaper Spear.
"Why are you so surprised, bottom feeder of the underworld? Can’t understand how a weak young man like me can contend with you?" Li Ling inquired mockingly.
The Underworld Judge snapped out of its shock at that taunt and swung the sword aside, breaking the clash and taking a step back to assess its foe for the first time.
"I sense the aura of the White and Black Impermanence on you. Do you think because you have the backing of these two ladies, you are all-powerful?" the Underworld Judge asked with a hint of disdain in its rough, inhuman voice.
Saying this, it didn’t wait for Li Ling to respond as it made a posture of striking, taking its greatsword above its head and swinging downward in a thunderous overhead slash.
THUMP!
Li Ling avoided the strike by transforming his body into blood with the Asura Blood Body Daoist art he recently comprehended, which he also used to avoid Wang Feng’s attack in the previous match.
"Humph, a fake Asura. No wonder your usage of the power of blood and killing is so crude," the Underworld Judge said with a flash of its red eyes, taking a step forward and chasing after Li Ling.
Meanwhile, all the members of the Asura Path throughout the various levels of the sect showed difficult expressions.
After all, anyone could see that Li Ling’s achievements in the Asura Blood Path had surpassed even the True Inheritors of the path, just needing his realm to catch up with his skill and expertise.
So if Li Ling was considered to be a ’fake’ Asura with crude usage... then what about them?
Li Ling himself did not take the comment seriously, rather wielding the Asura Reaper Spear to deftly deflect the powerful blows of the Underworld Judge with surprising ease, as if he were the skilled expert while the Underworld Judge was his headstrong apprentice.
Naturally, the Underworld Judge was not happy about this as it roared and exploded with the blackish-grey energy of the underworld, which had a sinister and dangerous aura.
Attaching this aura to its blade, the Underworld Judge swung a wide slash at the waist that was meant to bisect Li Ling in half, spreading his entrails all over the arena stage to satisfy its fury.
The Underworld Energy had a property of spiritual attack and physical decay, like a literal death aura. To counter it, the physical body was not enough, and Li Ling realized that, immediately unveiling his own Blood Power.
Blood Power contained the property of corrosion and penetration, which clashed with the Underworld Energy of the Underworld Judge, causing a huge explosion of power.
The arena formation shook greatly, the Divine Deva Overseer’s expression changing as he hurriedly infused more power into the formation in order to stabilize the fluctuations.
The arena stabilized, and one could see that the Underworld Judge was knocked a few steps back while Li Ling remained in place, flourishing his Asura Reaper Spear casually like he was a dance performer.
At this point, the gap in power and ability was clear. While the crowd could largely accept this result, the Underworld Judge itself couldn’t believe it at all, its body trembling with fury.
"It seems... I must exert full effort this time," the Underworld Judge remarked ominously, rapidly calming down as it held its greatsword in the knight’s vigil pose, its energy condensing inward.
"Oh? How scary. It seems that I must use more than 10% of my power as well. How about... 20%?" Li Ling muttered with interest, dropping the Asura Reaper Spear in mid-air and letting it float in place.
Li Ling then spread his arms out like he was receiving adulation from the crowd, slowly rising into the air like an ascending deity, his body glowing with Dharma Power.
Maintaining such a posture, Li Ling looked upward with an expression of perverse enjoyment, as if awaiting something truly magnificent.
"Star of Heaven’s Fall."
WENG!
All eyes couldn’t help but turn upward, feeling a surge of power condensing above the firmament that was completely abhorrent and terrifying, causing the blood of most disciples to turn cold.
What met their gazes was a humongous sphere of flaming rock, larger in size than their entire tournament arena and even almost as huge as the entire Holy City, hovering above the firmament as if waiting for permission to fall down.
"Holy shit!! What the hell is that?!"
"Star of Heaven’s Fall?! He actually perfected that terrible Daoist art?!"
"It’s bigger than the entire capital city of the second biggest empire! Who the hell can stand against something like this?"
The disciples of all levels couldn’t sit still, because it was no longer about mere Dharma Power, but just the heat, pressure, and physical weight of the star was enough to affect the entire area beneath its focus.
This was especially true for the Underworld Judge who was targeted by the skill, having just finished ’transforming’ into its ’second stage’, where it manifested a flaming warhorse that burned with underworld fire, its skeletal frame menacing and full of equestrian power.
Its greatsword had elongated into a jousting lance and a large tower shield half its height had appeared on its other arm, bearing a strange insignia that had never been seen on Tian Ming Continent.
With the way its underworld energy freely billowed around its form, it was clear that its power had increased by another level, almost reaching the fourth realm standard despite being suppressed to the third realm.
Only it knew what its original level should have been after such a power increase, but the suppression of Heaven’s Will was still in place.
However, before the hovering star, it was akin to an ant trying to stop a chariot.
Even the Underworld Judge’s eyes narrowed within the darkness of its helm, showing severe shock and grimness from its aura fluctuations, knowing that it had severely underestimated this young man.
It lowered its head thoughtfully, seemingly making a decision before turning back to regard Bei Dongshi, who hadn’t moved a single step from where he stood from the very start.
"My lord... take care," the Underworld Lower Judge finally said, turning to face the star in the firmament with blazing eyes.
"Done with your tearful farewells? Then, perish!" Li Ling teased maliciously, thrusting his hand downward.
The star hovering above the atmosphere seemed to have received a signal, slowly beginning to accelerate as its weight and power bore down on the entire area.
Its speed picked up rapidly with each second that passed, causing those below the sixth realm to be pressed into their seats, completely unable to move whatsoever.
As for those above that, they rose to their feet with terror on their faces, unsure whether to strike and try to break this technique or to flee and vacate the area completely. 𝑓𝑟𝑒𝘦𝓌𝑒𝑏𝑛𝑜𝘷𝑒𝘭.𝒸𝘰𝑚
However, the choice was made for them when the Underworld Lower Judge roared, placed its lance forward, and held up its tower shield, condensing all its billowing Underworld Energy to the tip.
"For the Lords of Death! For the Underworld Court! For the Underworld!"
The Underworld Judge’s warhorse neighed thunderously and reared its front hooves in the air before stepping into a powerful gallop, its hooves leaving burn marks in the very air as it surged upward into the sky.
The entire Six Paths Demon Sect, along with the visitors from the Seven Sins Demon Sect, were made to bear witness to this charge that defied the laws of the cultivation world, the ant-like figure of the Underworld Judge charging heroically upward toward the impossibly large star bearing down on them.
And then, with the sheer speed of both forces, collision occurred!
KRAKOOM!
All one could feel was the crushing force of extreme pressure from the ensuing shockwave, which forced the entire Holy City’s dome-like barrier to spring up, revealing its Ninth Grade Formation that was only a step below immortality.
However, despite the aftershocks, every eye was turned upward to see the outcome of the clash, and when the humongous dust cloud that covered the area above the city was cleared by the sect’s powerhouses, one could only see... emptiness.
There was a large space where the collision occurred that was shattered, causing a wormhole into subspace to appear that was slowly mending each second as space restored itself.
From this outcome, it was clear that the power of the clash was strong enough to shatter space, where the Underworld Lower Judge likely led the attack into the void to prevent it from harming his summoner.
This outcome caused many parties to release sighs of relief, glancing at each other like people who had survived a calamity.
Bei Dongshi had an expression of deep confusion and loss on his face, feeling like he should know that being, but as far as he knew, this was just a secret Daoist art he had suddenly comprehended one day.
PUCHI!
But before he could think further, he suddenly felt an extreme pain in his chest, looking down to see a hand protruding through his entire torso.
Raising his head, he saw Li Ling standing in front of him, even revealing a malicious light.
"You should have paid more attention to yourself," Li Ling remarked coldly, even as the stadium exploded the next moment!
