Infinite Wealth System: Crazy Tasks, Insane Rewards!-Chapter 206: Breakfast
After locking herself in the workshop for over twenty-four hours without even eating, Paula had gotten everything ready and was good to go.
She finally stepped out when Jayden came knocking, concerned about her not showing up for breakfast, lunch, and dinner... It was when she had missed the next breakfast that he decided to approach her.
Sure, they wanted her to get everything done, but not by starving herself. They all had to contribute to the preparation of the invasion, and Paula starving and working herself to death wasn’t what they wanted at all.
But fortunately, it was when he came knocking that she opened up, and instead of having a faint, weak look on her face...
It was bright... Brighter than one could expect.
She suddenly threw herself at him as she gave him a hug the moment she spotted him, giving Jayden the clue that everything had gone fine.
"Really, Paula? You missed breakfast, lunch..."
"Shhh... I had apples and grapes inside the workshop. I’m fine," she quickly cut in with a wide smile.
Jayden just couldn’t help but shrug, and then went all ears as she explained how her experiments had gone.
"Somehow, all the theories are real and accurate. I thought it was just some illusional theory since it was a dream, but I have been proven wrong. Everything is real, and now I can start crafting the suits," Paula said.
"Suits?" Jayden asked with furrowed brows.
"Yes. Suits. The Sovereign Protocol Army in the dream wore mech suits. A highly advanced tech wear that had many weaponry features installed on them. High-tech bursters, beams, machine guns with light bullets. Even a single punch from the mech suit’s arm is enough to bring down five soldiers."
"If we face them without a supportive defense feature like theirs, there’s no way we are standing a chance. Or much less winning," Paula said.
Her face was straight and serious, which indicated that she was certain about it.
But Jayden didn’t need much of her explanation because he already knew.
The system had already revealed the potential ways that the Sovereign Protocol army could arrive, and even the potential weapons they could use.
However, the system hadn’t for once revealed how they’d defeat the Sovereign Protocols. Jayden was wondering why until he figured that perhaps, the system wasn’t only using him as a force.
The ladies who had received the Specialized Skills were also a part of this, even though they didn’t know.
After reading the letter that Royce wrote, he knew that they would be curious about what the Absolute Guide in him was, but anyway, he had stated that he wouldn’t talk about it at the moment.
Maybe until the big threat was off... Or maybe never, until he finds out where the system had come from itself, because he still wasn’t completely sure that the system was the Absolute Guide.
He wasn’t supposed to believe that so easily, right?
...
He ended up forcing Paula to come with him for breakfast, even though she was so eager to go to the Engineering Base.
The ladies were all gathered in the dining room, including Katie and of course Rhea, who hadn’t left the island after being freed.
"Oh my god, Paula. You made us so worried," Becky said as she walked over.
"I’m sorry, Becky. I just had to do the important thing. But we have to be glad that it went well. After breakfast, the Engineering and Mechanical team will commence production immediately," Paula said as she took a seat.
"We are going to need the help of the Tech Team and the Defense Team as well," she looked at Charlotte and Harper.
"We got you, sweetheart," Charlotte smiled and said.
"Always ready," Harper responded with a nod.
Paula was glad, knowing that the joint force of the teams would make the project rapid.
She had appeared so one-minded and rushed within the last twenty hours, and clearly wasn’t looking like the Paula they knew.
They were all sitting with a strong woman who had the fate of the world in her hands.
When they were halfway through the meal, Paula’s mind suddenly drifted to the side as she noticed Rhea.
"Oh my god, Rhea. I’m so sorry. I really didn’t notice you," she said.
"It’s alright, ma’am. I completely understand," Rhea nodded with a smile.
"I have to thank you for the herbs. If not for you, I wouldn’t have been able to remember anything. Thank you so much, Rhea," Paula said.
"I was glad to have helped. The country needed it, and it was for our own good. All of us," Rhea replied, maintaining the smile.
Harper gave her a bright look and nodded.
They were all about to continue eating until a sudden question came from nowhere.
"Auntie Temi... What would happen to us? Are we going to die? Who are the Sovereign Protocols?"
That question came from Katie, her soft childish voice sounding in the room.
Jayden flinched as he gave Temi a signaling stare.
Temi wasn’t stupid after all, as she knew exactly what answer to give.
"No, Katie. We are not going to die. That is never happening. Never."
"But Auntie Paula has been working all night to find a way out. Big Brother had barely slept too," Katie cut in.
"Look at me, sweetheart," Temi pulled her beautiful face. "Nothing is going to happen to us. We are all safe, and will continue to be. Okay?"
Katie hesitated before finally giving a nod, which Jayden noticed and sighed.
They finished breakfast with Temi leading Katie to the car for school. There was a private elementary school on the island that only a few attended and was completely safe and good for her.
Since she had been there, Temi had been the closest lady to her, and it was nothing surprising for a motherly figure like her.
Camilia had also been close, but not as much as Temi.
Sometimes, Katie ended up passing the night in Temi’s room and was beginning to treat her like her mother.
Jayden was seeing it.
...
As for Camilia, she had left the dining room immediately after breakfast as she went to prepare for her speech to the world...
Not the nation... The world.
After the unity, they’d have to make a final speech to the people and make sure they were united.
That was Camilia’s job, and somehow, she would need to play a crucial role in maintaining the togetherness of the people, because when the fight begins, unity would determine if they would stand a chance or not.
And yeah...
"Hey, Cammy. I’m with you."
Becky was in this too.
Diplomatic Specialist.
Influential Figure.
Everything was right on track.
