Infinity Is My Affinity?!?-Chapter 124: Don’t Think About It~
Nom-Nom froze with her ears twitching as she dropped her arms to her sides.
"Enchantment?"
I couldn’t help the grin spreading across my face as I leaned back against the tree.
"Oh yeah... " I said slowly, mentally tapping the shop window again. "If we’re doing this, we might as well jingle all the way."
Popping open the Enchantments category in the Shop tab, I dragged the one I had singled out onto the shared screen.
{
Active Sword Repair (Rare)
Description: Applies a restorative enchantment to a designated bladed weapon (Type: Sword). When the user actively channels mana into the weapon with the specific conscious intent to repair, the enchantment will repair the sword.
Notes*
The weapon must remain at least 20% physically whole for the enchantment to function. If integrity falls below 20%, the enchantment shatters permanently.
Mana consumption scales exponentially based on the weapon’s rarity, material, and the total percentage of sustained damage.
Crafting requirements:
Refined Naga Blood (20 ML)
Mystic Obsidian Dust (10g)
Liquefied Troll Marrow (1 Vial), Iron-Bristle Boar Brush (1x)
Valid Weapon (Type: Sword)
Price: 11,000 Credits
}
Nom-Nom stared blankly at the floating text, tilting her head as her nose scrunched up. "Heal... a piece of metal?"
"Don’t think about it," I chuckled. "I sure as hell won’t... but as long as the sword isn’t completely vaporized, you just pour your mana into it while actively thinking about fixing it, and the blade will literally rebuild itself."
[This completely solves the issue of the low-grade metals degrading under her dragon fire,] I mentally gave myself a pat on the back.
Nom-Nom leaned forward with her eyes narrowing as she tried to read the bottom of the System prompt. "But what does troll marrow have to do with fixing a sword?"
"Who cares?" I answered deadpan, already adding both the sword and the Enchantment to my cart. "That’s System’s problem..."
Nom-Nom blinked rapidly as she processed the absolute absurdity of the crafting logic.
"Alright, I’m locking it all in," I said, mentally confirming the purchase for both the giant sword and the Enchantment while watching our total credit balance take an absolutely massive hit.
-Ding!
{Transaction Complete: ’Emberwake Greatsword’ and ’Enchantment Blueprint: Active Sword Repair’ purchased for 23,000 credits.
Item routed to Inventory.
Enchantment unlocked in Crafting Tab.}
"Alright, step one is done," I muttered, already commanding the interface back to the main menu as I kept the momentum going. "System, buy all the required raw materials for that enchantment and dump them straight into my inventory."
-Ding!
{Transaction Complete: Crafting materials purchased for 4,380 credits.}
[27 grand gone in less than two minutes...] I calculated, forcibly ignoring the painful twist in my gut as I navigated over to the Crafting Tab of my interface.
[Good thing she spends her entire day hunting and racking up credits for the party, or I wouldn’t have dared poof those credits....]
The crafting Tab had only one category visible, and that was ’Enchantments,’ and behind that was my very first enchantment, Active Sword Repair (Rare)
Every single text line for the required ingredients was now glowing a crisp, solid white, signaling that I had the exact materials ready in my Inventory.
With a satisfied smirk, I mentally pushed the ’Craft’ command.
A new side pane instantly slid open to display the grid of my current inventory, prompting me to select a valid weapon.
I targeted the Emberwake Greatsword before pushing the final confirmation through.
And the very next moment, the interface completely locked down as the entire screen glowed a blinding, solid white for exactly two seconds before-
-Ding!
{Crafting Successful: Active Sword Repair applied to Emberwake Greatsword.}
I let out a long breath, mentally dismissing the prompt from my vision just like closing a pop-up in a video game.
"Alright, the sword is officially ready to be repaired on demand," I announced while shifting my gaze back to Nom-Nom’s eager face on the video feed. "Let’s see how it looks..."
Nom-Nom’s violet eyes darted off-screen as she eagerly pulled out the sword from my Inventory.
A second later, a massive pulse of blue light erupted in from her hand.
Gravity immediately tried to claim the 23-kilo slab of metal the moment it materialized, but Nom-Nom simply grabbed the hilt with one hand before casually swinging the massive weapon up with a simple flick of her wrist, handling the absolute behemoth like it was a cheap plastic toy.
She didn’t even wait for me to give the green light. Her violet eyes narrowed as she pushed a fraction of her Dragon Fire straight into the hilt.
And the reaction was instantaneous.
The Grade 9 Mythril spine running down the center of the dark Adamantite violently flared to life, glowing a blinding, superheated violet that perfectly matched her eyes.
The intense heat spiderwebbed outward along the Orichalcum binding seams before abruptly igniting the Grade 8 Mythril edges in an eruption of violet dragon fire.
[The Adamantite cheeks are completely ignoring the magic...] I noted while watching the sheer heat distortion warping the air around the blade through the video feed. [It’s literally channeling all that destructive thermal energy exclusively through the spine and the edges...]
Nom-Nom stared at the humongous glowing weapon in her hand, with the violent violet light casting predatory shadows across her face while a massive, toothy grin slowly stretched from ear to ear.
"I’m going to go find Peko..." she declared with her voice dropping an octave in pure excitement. "I need to see how it cuts right now."
"Just go to a Dun-", but the screen instantly snapped out as she abruptly hung up on me, leaving me staring at empty air in the middle of the silent forest.
I couldn’t help but let out a laugh as I pushed myself off the thick branch and dropped down to the forest floor. 𝙛𝒓𝓮𝒆𝔀𝒆𝙗𝓷𝒐𝙫𝒆𝙡.𝒄𝓸𝓶
[I really hope they don’t burn the house down...] I sighed as it all sank in.
[Yeah... I definitely just handed a loaded AK to a draconic monkey... but then again... that’s my draconic monkey.]
