"I guess you can start evolving right away, huh? Why didn’t you say anything before, little one?" Theo spoke as he patted its head one more time before he went inside the hut and brought out a medium-grade healing potion.

When the crawler saw that bottle, it darted forward at a speed Theo had not seen it take before.

Theo quickly uncorked the bottle and went down only to see it open its creepy mouth wide open, as if it was a bottle and Theo could just pour the liquid inside right away.

Theo did just that, and soon enough, the crawler started drinking it all with an invigorated feeling.

When the whole bottle was empty, he looked at the requirement that said ’0.8’ instead of fully complete, so Theo had to make it drink another one before the requirements were finally complete.

The crawler kept staying at one spot for a few minutes. It didn’t move a single inch, and Theo stayed there for as long as he could so that he could make it evolve safely.

Suddenly, it started moving abruptly again, and Theo saw it start digging in the ground, only to go a few inches down and just cover the upper layer.

’Is it okay?’ Theo asked the ant queen, who only sent emotions of nodding in return.

Theo sat there and waited it out, only to notice the mantis still beside him.

’Don’t you want to go play?’ Theo asked it, and the mantis just hopped onto his knee and stayed there while grooming itself.

Theo just chuckled. He felt happy that the mantis still recognised the need to protect him, which was necessary as, at the end of the day, Theo was not as strong as the mantis.

’Now what are my goals...’ Theo thought to pass the time.

’One of the quest requirements is complete now, leaving the two... one is tamed beast growth, the other is human growth... I guess I can evolve the mantis one more time to complete the first... as for the human growth...’ Theo lingered on that last thought before smiling.

’I could wait for when we reach the gate and I meditate here. But other than that... if I were to "grow" a human... what are my other options?’ Theo thought.

’The requirement to grow a non-tamed beast got completed when I helped level the little one... I guess when I made it reach a point where it would have been difficult to reach on its own, it may as well have died before reaching it without me...’ Theo thought.

’That was considered as Growth, so if I were to make a human grow in a way other than evolution... that should be considered growth too.’

Theo was moving toward a more philosophical way of completing this requirement rather than actually making a human evolve to the Foundation one.

’Let’s think of how I can make a human grow to be a better one... teaching it stuff? Hmm, for that I will have to get good enough proficiency in something to begin with... and the growth should be good enough too.... ’Elias learned something that helped him gain a better way to fight,’ he thought with his eyebrows creased. ’But what if instead of father, I was the one who told him to use a bow instead of a sword? Was it possible to get my requirement complete that way?’

’But there is no way I could suggest that to him... I just don’t have that much experience,’ Theo realized.

It had been a few minutes and still, the crawler was inside the ground. But since the ground was moving every few seconds, he knew it was still there and had not gone deeper.

’My easiest option is to find a gate and try evolving myself first... if after the evolution, the requirements are complete, then I guess there is no need to go that deep into it.’

Theo decided to leave it at that and go to the other one. He needed to make up his mind and keep it steady so that he could actually progress now.

’So all I should focus on right now is to get a good enough evolution option for the mantis and evolve it. That seems about right.’
