Invincibility Begins with Mastery of Fist Techniques-Chapter 107: Release Announcement
I received a notification from the site's backend: this book will become premium tomorrow at 12 PM. So, I figured I'd write a few words.
Up to this point, the book has gone through a full cycle of all the recommendation slots a new novel can get. This is the first book of mine to complete the whole process, and you all have been incredibly supportive.
Honestly, when I started writing this book, I intended to go in the direction of a straightforward, satisfying, "protagonist-smashes-everything" kind of story. I'm not sure how it ended up becoming what it is today. I suppose it's because there was something in my heart I wanted to express. It's a difficult feeling to explain, but for now, the reception seems to be pretty good.
I must have reread *Dragon & Snake* six or seven times, and as for *Fist Town*... I've lost count. In any case, many, many times. There's a concept in them that has made me think deeply.
What is the meaning of "Martial"?
The Martial Way is courageous progress. It is decisiveness in slaughter. It is a promise that is sacrosanct. It is staring down death without flinching. It is embodying both passion and principle. It is even supreme detachment.
But I believe the Martial Way is more than just that.
All of humanity's praiseworthy, golden qualities of spirit—these, too, should be considered "Martial."
Courage, conviction, fearlessness, sacrifice...
There are things one desires more than life, and things one loathes more than death.
A Martial Artist is one who embodies this spirit completely, a person who transcends life and death.
In the process of outlining the story and researching material, I discovered that the Martial Way wasn't just about Zhou Yuanjue's belief that transcends all.
And so, the story gained Zhang Ling Heng, who passed on the flame with his life; Huang Shuwen, who fought carrying his own coffin; Wei Fengyi, who burned like a lamp to light the path; He Runlin, who never shied away from a challenge; Ji Yunzhou, who freely repaid kindness and enacted vengeance; Dong Wanming, the honorable and upright assassin; and Feimura Masayuki, whose Mystical Technique is not to kill...
I'd like to think they aren't characters you'll forget after a single glance, right? If you all can still remember them from time to time after reading, I think I'll be very satisfied.
The paths of the Martial Dao are countless. This world shouldn't just be about the protagonist's journey alone; there should also be a group of fellow travelers walking their own paths with the same conviction.
I hope to create more characters like them in the future. This is a huge challenge for me, but I will do my best to accomplish it.
As you all have probably noticed, fantasy (Xuanhuan) elements will be gradually introduced into the story. But no matter what elements or settings are brought in, the Martial Dao will remain the core theme of this book from beginning to end. The spirit of the Martial Artist will be a constant throughout. You won't see a situation where some powerful new power system appears (like fusing with a Celestial Demon or something) and the protagonist immediately adopts it for his own use. The same goes for the Martial Artists in the main cast.
Pure, powerful, and creating miracles from the impossible with a mortal body—that is what I want to express.
Next, let's talk about updates. Updating this book is quite difficult. Even though it's only 4,000 characters a day, it takes a lot of time. For the fight scenes, I generally need to be able to visualize them clearly with my eyes closed before I can write them. Sometimes I even have to get up and act out the movements... I suppose that's why they have a somewhat cinematic feel. When I lack inspiration, I can get stuck on a single detail for a very long time. 𝐟𝕣𝗲𝕖𝕨𝗲𝐛𝗻𝗼𝐯𝗲𝚕.𝗰𝚘𝐦
As for a chapter backlog... I basically don't have one. However, I will do a chapter burst for the premium launch. Probably five chapters. I can't write more than that. I'll see if I can pull an all-nighter tonight. The plan is to release three chapters at 12 PM tomorrow, followed by two more in the evening. After that, I'll return to a guaranteed two chapters (4,000 characters) a day, and I'll try my best to hit 6,000. When inspiration strikes, there will be unscheduled chapter bursts. I hope you can all be patient with me. I couldn't write at the speed of an author like "The Eagle" even if my life depended on it...
This book has come this far thanks to all of your support. Tomorrow at 12 PM, I hope you can all come to Qidian and give me a first-chapter subscription to support the official release. It will help this book go much further. Thank you all in advance!
Finally, I want to thank my editor, Yexiao, for keeping the recommendations coming without a break, hahahaha. Alright, that's enough from me. I'm off to write. See you all tomorrow at noon.
