Invincible Divine Doctor of the Beautiful Lady-Chapter 90 - 88: How to Show Gratitude
Chapter 90: Chapter 88: How to Show Gratitude
What amazed Song Qingyu was the precision of Tangyu’s shooting; he had hit the limbs of the two criminals directly in the tendons of their hands and feet. Only by doing so could the two criminals be immediately incapacitated, losing all their abilities. Setting aside the ruthlessness of the method, the accuracy alone made Song Qingyu look at Tangyu in a new light. She considered herself a good shot, but even if her targets had stood still, she doubted she could disable both men with just eight shots.
Moreover, under the intense circumstances, both criminals had been moving. To achieve such accurate shooting in such a short time was truly masterful, exceeding the bounds of normal human ability.
Seeing Song Qingyu’s astonished expression and the way she looked at him, Tangyu smiled inwardly. Winning a girl’s admiration was undoubtedly a good way to curry favor.
However, his performance had been a bit showy, but it was necessary; using any other method to handle the armed criminals might have astonished her even more. Tangyu handed the gun to Song Qingyu with a slight smile and said, "Captain Song, why are you looking at me like that? I know I’m handsome, but you don’t need to stare so intently in public. Be careful, or I might fall for you."
"Cut it out." Song Qingyu finally snapped out of it, took her gun back, and said, "Tangyu, how did you return fire?" She was beginning to suspect Tangyu’s identity. From the superhuman skills he displayed the last time he saved her to his astonishing shooting skills this time, it was almost beyond belief. Such marksmanship typically came from extensive practice - possibly indicating a background with the military or the underworld. Considering the options, it seemed likely he might have a military background. Song Qingyu couldn’t help but grow suspicious.
Tangyu, well aware of Song Qingyu’s suspicions, just laughed and said, "What if I told you this was my first time using a gun? You wouldn’t believe it, right? Actually, I grew up playing with slingshots; I guess a gun isn’t so different."
Song Qingyu glared at him disbelievingly and said, "Believe you? Forget it. Anyway, thanks for helping me again and taking down these criminals. On behalf of our police force, I offer you our sincere thanks."
"Eh, don’t be so formal; it makes me feel awkward. Captain Song, if you really want to thank me, why not make it something practical?" Tangyu pouted slightly.
Song Qingyu glanced at Tangyu, her eyes flashing an unusual light.
Tangyu continued, "Don’t look at me like that; I’m not a bad guy. Why do you always look at me with such unfriendly eyes? I’m serious. If you don’t want to owe me a favor, and I don’t like people owing me, let’s settle it today. Being straightforward is best, I’m not the complicated type."
"So how do you want me to thank you?" Song Qingyu asked.
Tangyu smiled and said, "What I want, you won’t agree to. I’d love for you to be my girlfriend, but I know you won’t agree. So, how about we just have a meal together? That should be acceptable, right?"
Song Qingyu nodded and replied, "I can agree to a meal, but I’ve been quite busy lately and might not have the time."
"Hehe, that’s not a problem at all. I can wait; it’s not like I’m in a hurry to leave Donglin City," Tangyu said, enjoying the prospect of dining with a beautiful woman.
"Alright, then I’ll invite you to a meal when I’m free. But—I can give you a chance to pursue me, provided you help me out first," Song Qingyu said, turning her eyes back to Tangyu. Seeing the look in her eyes, Tangyu knew what she was referring to. It was something Tangyu was reluctant to get involved in, as it might lead to complicated issues. He had come to Donglin City wanting to keep a low profile and live a simple life—at least, that was his plan.
Helping Song Qingyu would inevitably involve dealing with Donglin City’s underworld, and most likely, trying to eliminate them. The potential repercussions were unpredictable.
Tangyu sighed and said, "Captain Song, with so many capable people in the Donglin City police, you really don’t need my help. I’m afraid I can’t help with that. Ah, the tragedy of being average."
Song Qingyu, mildly annoyed, glared at Tangyu, knowing that if there were better candidates, she wouldn’t be asking him. But she couldn’t force anyone, so she shook her head and said, "Forget it then. You can leave if you have things to do; I’m still busy."
Tangyu nodded, "Alright Captain Song, I’ll take my leave." He said and then turned and left.
Watching Tangyu walk away, Song Qingyu paused and wondered, how much more was there to this man than met the eye? What was his real identity? Would such a capable individual really be content with just an ordinary life in Donglin City?
Tangyu went straight home, and as he arrived at the Lin family’s place, a car pulled up. It was the Lin family’s car. The door opened, and Lin Guotai and Lin Feifei got out.
Tangyu’s gaze quickly swept over Lin Feifei, and he shook his head inwardly, worried as he had suspected that Lin Feifei’s condition was deteriorating. Once one started his treatment method, one couldn’t delay without risking backlash, which could only worsen the situation. Lin Feifei also saw Tangyu, her face immediately showing displeasure as she glanced at him sharply before turning away, acting like she was petulantly sulking.
"Tangyu, you’re back early," Lin Guotai greeted him warmly.
Tangyu nodded and said, "Yes, Uncle Lin, I went out to discuss a case with a client this afternoon, so I didn’t return to the office; I came straight here instead. Lin Feifei, how are you feeling? I’m sorry, a friend had an emergency last night, so I didn’t come back."
Lin Feifei then looked up and retorted, "Whether you come home to stay overnight is none of my business. You don’t need to apologize to me; you are not my someone or other. I really don’t care about it."
Her words, tinged with a hint of jealousy, even made Lin Guotai glance at Lin Feifei in surprise, furrowing his brows slightly. If anyone understood Lin Feifei, it was him. He was somewhat astonished—could it be that in just these few days, Lin Feifei had developed feelings for Tangyu? At her age, it was normal for girls to start having feelings for boys. Moreover, Donglin City is an international metropolis, quite open in many aspects. Not to mention high school, even middle school students often have early romances; high school students even more so. This issue had always made him very cautious. However, Lin Feifei had been obedient and showed no signs in that regard until now.
Only now, he sensed a trace of it.
"Don’t be angry anymore. The day before yesterday was my fault, and I already apologized to you. There really was an incident yesterday, and now your body has suffered some backlash, which is why your complexion looks poor. You must be feeling quite uncomfortable today, right?" Tangyu said.
Lin Guotai also raised his gaze and asked with concern, "Feifei, are you feeling unwell?"
Lin Feifei, hearing Tangyu take the initiative to apologize, especially doing so in front of her dad, felt much of her anger dissipate. It seemed that Tangyu really did have an issue last night. Besides, she was the one who had insisted on sharing a blanket with him. Thinking about that, she couldn’t blame him entirely. With that thought, Lin Feifei’s anger almost entirely subsided. A good trait in girls is that their anger can rise quickly but also fade quickly. There’s a saying that with a little coaxing, all can be well, and this is based on truth.
"Dad, I do feel slightly unwell, and I’m having sensations like when I had previous attacks, but it’s not as severe," Lin Feifei said.
Lin Guotai immediately embraced Lin Feifei, his expression darkening slightly as he said, "Let’s go back to the room and talk."
Back in the room, Lin Guotai looked at Tangyu and asked, "What’s going on?"
Tangyu walked over to Lin Feifei, sat beside her, and placed his hand on her abdomen, transmitting True Yang Energy into her. After a while, Tangyu stopped and sighed; Lin Feifei felt much better, and her complexion had improved.
"Uncle Lin, it was my negligence. Because I didn’t sleep with Lin Feifei last night, her body didn’t receive my True Yang Energy, which led to the backlash of the Extreme Yin Energy inside her," Tangyu explained.
Lin Guotai said, "You had an emergency yesterday and can’t be blamed for that, fortunately, it wasn’t severe. But Tangyu, if something happens in the future, just let me know, after all, Feifei’s illness can’t afford delays; her life is in your hands."
Tangyu nodded and said, "Don’t worry, Uncle Lin, it won’t happen again. Since I’ve taken on the responsibility of treating Lin Feifei, I will be responsible to the end. If I can’t cure her, I won’t have the face to go back to see my master."
"That’s good, I entrust her to you then," Lin Guotai said solemnly.
Lin Feifei also looked at Tangyu, noticing that he hadn’t mentioned her behavior last night, and felt grateful. It seemed that she really had been too willful yesterday; her illness indeed should not be underestimated.
Just then, the butler, Old Wu, came over and said, "Master, someone claiming to be the general manager of Chu Xiang Technology requests to see you."
Lin Zhengtai raised his eyebrows slightly and said, "Chu Xiang Technology? Never heard of it. Go send them away. Say I am not receiving guests. It’s outrageous they even came to the house. What are the security guards at the community gate doing?"
Tangyu gave a wry smile; Chu Xiang really knew how to track him, managing to come all this way. He must have been following him all along.
"Wait, Uncle Lin, I think you should meet with them," Tangyu said.
"Oh, why?" Lin Guotai looked over and asked. fɾeewebnoveℓ.co๓
"It’s like this, Uncle Lin, I went to Chu Xiang Technology yesterday to help Sister Xin deliver a contract..."
Tangyu briefly recounted yesterday’s events, and after listening, Lin Guotai also huffed slightly, "The audacity of young people today, so reckless and unscrupulous. To think they dared to smash a car belonging to the Lin family, they must have guts of steel. Old Wu, let them in."
