Invincible Snake Emperor-Chapter 95 - 94: Call Me Master
The laboratory was empty. The staff members in their white coats were gone.
Only a single Silver White Snake remained, trapped and immobilized in a glass case.
It was as if time had ceased to have meaning. Tu Xiao’an could feel it passing, but he had no idea how many minutes, seconds, or hours had slipped by.
He was completely in the dark.
The scene from the lab kept replaying in his mind: the Mutated Bloodsucker Snake transforming into a terrifying, ten-meter-long Giant Snake right before his eyes and then speaking human words.
He knew that he was about to go through everything the Vampire Snake had. His fate was sealed.
But judging by what happened to the Vampire Snake, it wasn’t entirely a disaster. In fact, it almost seemed like an opportunity.
The injected serum had allowed a mere venomous snake to leap over the dragon’s gate, its potential becoming immeasurable.
Tu Xiao’an couldn’t help but imagine it. If he were injected with the serum, his power would probably skyrocket too. But that wasn’t what worried him.
There’s no such thing as a free lunch in this world. There are always gains and losses, pros and cons. The Vampire Snake’s bloodline had evolved, turning it into a peerless Snake Species, but in exchange, it had lost its freedom and become a human’s pet.
That black pill was like an unbreakable iron chain. Once it locked onto you, you could only be enslaved and controlled.
Tu Xiao’an was afraid that if he were fed the black pill, he too would lose his mind and be controlled by someone else.
That was what he feared most.
He might be a venomous snake, but he had the soul of a human. How could he let himself be controlled and enslaved? He would rather die.
’Damn it!’ A suppressed, towering rage threatened to erupt from within him. This was too humiliating, so suffocatingly unjust.
Time continued to tick by, second by second, until the quiet laboratory once again filled with staff members.
Each person went to their station and began making preparations.
When a thin, middle-aged man finally stood before the Silver White Snake’s glass case, Tu Xiao’an knew his doom had arrived.
Dr. Snake gazed at the coiled Silver White Snake in the case, his eyes gleaming brightly under his brows like a fire in a thorn bush. Today, this laboratory would give birth to a second peerless Snake Species.
His ambition was immense.
A venomous snake with a body free of shackles and limitless potential—that was a peerless Snake Species. It was like a one-in-a-million genius who could master any Martial Arts manual with a single glance.
But merely creating a peerless Snake Species wasn’t enough. His goal was to create a Snake King.
He would first cultivate both the Vampire Snake and the Silver White Snake into peerless Snake Species. Then, he would have the two snakes fight. The winner would be king.
Chen Mo was extremely interested in this Silver White Snake. For a mere venomous snake to be worshipped as a Snake King by the Snake Catchers of Bai Town—what a tremendous honor that was.
But the Snake King in Dr. Snake’s eyes was different from the Snake King worshipped in the hearts of Bai Town’s people.
The Snake King they believed in was a mythologized being, possessing Divine Techniques to summon the wind and rain, an omnipotent power.
It was a God, an Immortal, one who accumulated merit and achieved enlightenment, who solved the world’s problems, guided the lost, and protected the peace and safety of the people.
It had to be said that the people of Bai Town had elevated the Snake King to an impossibly high, superstitious, and unrealistic status.
To worship a mere venomous snake to such a degree was laughable. But the veneration of animals had ancient roots, originating from the idea of animism—that all things possess a spirit.
In the north, folk beliefs spoke of the Five Great Immortals, one of which was the Snake Immortal. They were considered supernatural beings, part Demon and part Immortal. If you offended them or caused them harm, they would use Demon Techniques to retaliate, punishing humans with disasters of varying degrees. But if people revered them, they would receive blessings in return.
Therefore, many families in the countryside worshipped the Five Great Immortals.
But Bai Town worshipped only the Snake Immortal.
Chen Mo was a doctor, a scientist. He believed a snake’s potential was limitless. A snake was a treasure trove; every part of its body could be used to save lives.
The Snake King he envisioned was one whose single drop of Snake Blood could save a life, whose single drop of venom could be a bioweapon, who could command all other snakes, and could even transform into a Flood Dragon.
He viewed everything from a scientific perspective, using scientific methods to turn the mundane into the miraculous.
And now, he was doing just that, step by step, realizing his dream.
"My precious, I’ve kept you waiting. Are you also impatient to become a peerless Snake Species?"
After a moment, Chen Mo snapped out of his thoughts, a faint smile spreading across his face as he looked at the Silver White Snake in the glass case.
’If my body weren’t restrained, I’d bite him to death right now.’ To Tu Xiao’an, this man was a complete lunatic.
"Doctor, everything is ready. Shall we begin the experiment now?"
A staff member holding a syringe of the Giant Snake Gene stood beside Chen Mo.
"I do love this part."
Chen Mo nodded, took the Silver White Snake out of the glass case, and placed it on a long table.
A mournful feeling suddenly arose in Tu Xiao’an. He had become a human’s test subject after all.
’But I still have a chance to fight back. As long as the Silver Needle is pulled from my head, everything will change.’
Chen Mo used the same old trick. A black pill emitting a peculiar smell appeared in his hand. The moment it appeared, Tu Xiao’an panicked.
This was the very thing he had been dreading.
The pill’s scent wafted into his olfactory system. It was surprisingly pleasant, full of temptation.
Subconsciously, Tu Xiao’an found himself wanting to swallow the pill in one gulp.
’No, I can’t swallow it! If I do, I’ll lose my own mind!’ Tu Xiao’an warned himself over and over.
A flash of surprise appeared in Chen Mo’s eyes. He had taken out the black pill, yet this Silver White Snake actually recoiled slightly, seemingly unaffected by the temptation.
This was the first time he had ever seen such a reaction. The pill was created with a Secret Technique specifically designed to target the Snake Race. Any venomous snake that smelled it would think it had encountered the most delicious food in the world.
’It seems this Silver White Snake’s intelligence is even greater than the Vampire Snake’s,’ he thought. ’It must have seen the Vampire Snake’s reaction after eating the pill yesterday, and that made it afraid.’
"Eat it. You have no choice."
Chen Mo’s voice carried a strange, magnetic quality.
The Silver White Snake shook its head like a rattle, looking as if it would rather die than eat it.
"What a clever little thing." Chen Mo chuckled, not wanting to waste any more time. He violently shoved the black pill into Tu Xiao’an’s serpentine mouth.
It melted the instant it entered his mouth, and a warm current flowed through his body.
’It’s over, it’s over.’ Tu Xiao’an wanted to spit it out, but there was nothing left to spit.
Having done all this, Chen Mo watched the Silver White Snake quietly.
After a short while, the Silver White Snake prostrated itself before him, lowering its Snake Head as if kowtowing.
"Haha, call me master."
This was Snake Language.
"Master."
The Silver White Snake hissed.
Chen Mo’s eyes shone brightly. Now that he controlled the Silver White Snake, the experiment could truly begin.
He glanced at the Silver Needle inserted in the Silver White Snake’s head and reached out to pull it. At that exact moment, the Snake Pupils of the prostrated snake suddenly flashed.
