______________
After sitting in the shouting area together. Jacob went first scoring nine on them as he hit the bullseye then after him Alice followed by Issac who they too scored nine on ten.
"Hmm. I think we should raise the combination standards. We should bet on something. What do you think?" Alice suggested.
The two men stared at each other for a moment. Thinking about whether to agree or not.
"And this bet will be?" Jacob asked, leaning against the wall.
"Let’s see."Alice trailed off."Dinner at a five-star restaurant.." She replied.
"Well. That’s easy. Now let’s begin." Issac said and Jacob nodded his head.
The three of them were about to loud their guns when they saw Ethan walking towards them.
"Should we let him in?" Issac asked his sister.
Alice thought about it for two seconds before she nodded her head."Yes. And I have another idea." She said as she took out her phone and started texting someone.
______
Upstairs. Today was Sunday. Petal decided to be lazy today and just spend the day in her room. Avoiding a certain person and any potential problems. Sipping from her coffee. Petal saw her phone light flashing. Picking it up. She unlocked it and read the text message that she received. It was from Alice telling to come and join them behind the mansion.
Petal put down her phone, decided to ignore her message, and continued sipping from her coffee. 𝐟𝕣𝕖𝐞𝐰𝕖𝚋𝐧𝗼𝚟𝐞𝕝.𝗰𝐨𝐦
Twenty minutes later. Petal reserved more than ten messages from Alice. Writing the same words. Getting up from the bed. She got dressed and went downstairs heading to the back of the mansion to see what was fun there that she wanted her to see.
Walking behind the mansion. Petal saw that Alice wasn’t alone. Jacob and Issac were there too. Walking a little closer. She saw Ethan leaning against the tree. She stopped walking and at the same moment, he turned his head looking at her. Their eyes met and she tried to act normal and continue walking slowly towards them.
Petal could feel his gaze on her. Burning holes in her back but she ignored him or tried to. Her heart was beating fast in her chest. Something always happens whenever he’s around.
"Oh, there you’re finally. I was going to bring myself down." Alice said, smiling at her.
"What is all this?" Petal asked. signaling.
Alice walked to her side, Warping her arm around her shoulder."This is a shooting area. Since it’s Sunday, most of us have nothing to do. So we decided to have fun." She replied to her.
Petal nodded her head as she stared at Jacob who was speaking to Issac.
"Jacob said that you’re good at shooting targets. Do you want to try?" Alice asked.
Petal wanted to say no but she suddenly found herself being taken to the shooting range and a gun was handed to her. She glared at Alice who was grinning at her for pushing her into this.
"Is she good?" Issac asked Jacob.
"You will see." Jacob replied."I trained her. Of course. She will be more than good." He added. Jacob wasn’t exaggerating. Petal was very good with guns. She never misses her targets. She was natural.
Ethan walked closer to them. Wanting to witness this moment with his own eyes. His queen was using guns. Hmm. He would love to see her shouting with it.
Petal held the gun in her hand looking at the targets in front of her. She was a little nervous. She only did this with Jacob. Turning to look behind her. Her eyes met Jacob’s assuring eyes. Gulping softly. She turned to look at the trees. Pointing at the first target she took a deep breath before she hit the first target and then the second the third until she hit all of them.
"I didn’t expect less." Alice said, clapping her hands.
Issac had his mouth ajar. Jacob had a proud smile on his face while Ethan had a pleased smile on his face.
"I told you. She’s good." Jacob said, turning to look at Issac.
"Hmm." Issac hummed his answer.
Giving the gun to Alice. Petal turned to look at the three men who were standing there. Her eyes focused on Ethan before she turned to look away. She dismissed herself and started to walk towards the mansion trying not to look at him.
She shouldn’t have come down. Now she was feeling nostalgic. She missed the days where she could lay in his lap as he hugged thinking that she was the happiest person in the world. Thinking that nothing could separate them. but look at them now.
Petal felt like crying. The tears in her eyes were threatening to slide down from her eyes but she held herself back. There’s no use. They hurt each other too much. Their relationship is far from being repaired. Everything has ended. No, she has to learn how to live without him in her life.
Ethan was following her with his eyes until she disappeared. Saw how she looked at him. Sadness filled her eyes. He hated seeing her like this. This play has to stop. He can watch her suffer like this. After the gathering party. He put an end to this. He needs to have her back. To make her smile again.
Excusing himself. Ethan walked towards his car. He has a lot on his hands These days. A tip reached his ears saying that some of the small gangster’s leaders were planning to assassinate him. It wasn’t new to him. But still. He has to be careful.
