Journey to the West: Treasure Vase of the Great Dao-Chapter 578 - 320 Separation
"Mr. Lu, I’ve pulled it out!" he exclaimed joyfully to Lu Yu.
Lu Yu nodded slightly and said, "Now that you have drawn the sword, you must be prepared for what comes with it."
Arthur nodded solemnly, aware of his mission as the bearer of the Sword in the Stone. He looked up at the sky and seemed to see the ill-intentioned creatures hovering beyond, flames burning in his eyes.
"Alright, you should leave this place now," Lu Yu continued, intending for Arthur to depart.
Surprised, Arthur listened to Lu Yu’s words, which suggested he should leave alone, so he asked with some doubt, "Aren’t you leaving, Mr. Lu?"
Lu Yu pointed at the dense black fog outside and said softly, "I need to stay here to deal with this place. The seals left by the Divine Spirits are simply incapable of stopping this Power of Death. Once it cannot be dispersed, the whole world will fall into destruction."
Arthur followed Lu Yu’s gesture and saw the thick black fog not far away. It seemed as though something terrifying lurked within, causing a fright in Arthur. Even the Sword in the Stone in his hand emitted an apprehensive sound, as if very wary of it.
"Mr. Lu, can this thing be handled properly?" Although he knew Mr. Lu had vast Divine Skills, Arthur was also aware of the difficult nature of the thing before him. With the knowledge from the Sword in the Stone, he was no longer the ignorant youth he had once been.
"It’s not a big problem, but it’s a bit time-consuming. You go first. Once I have taken care of this land, I will come to find you," Lu Yu said confidently.
Arthur felt strong confidence in his words, which gradually settled his uneasy heart. He nodded earnestly to Lu Yu, "I will become the king of this world and lead the human race to drive out the evil."
Lu Yu smiled and nodded, then lightly pointed with his right hand. The dense black fog parted, revealing a narrow path wide enough for one person to pass through.
Arthur bid farewell to Lu Yu, holding the Sword in the Stone firmly as he walked down the path, gradually disappearing from Lu Yu’s view.
As he moved on, eerie and terrifying roars reached his ears. He could even vaguely see white creatures hiding in the black fog. Gripping the treasured sword tightly, the comforting glow from the Sword in the Stone flashed across, bringing peace to his heart.
After a long walk, he finally began to leave behind the area that had become the Land of Death. Not far ahead, he could already see the faint sunlight, while behind him, the darkness of the fog had already engulfed everything.
When Arthur emerged from the dense fog and saw the brilliant sunlight again, he felt as if he had been transported to another world, as if everything that had happened before had been nothing but a dream. He looked down at the Sword in the Stone he was gripping and could clearly feel that everything was real; he had indeed gone through a magical period of time.
Looking at the lush forest before him, he gathered his thoughts. It was time to return to his domain and reclaim what was his.
After Arthur had left, Lu Yu looked up at the sky. The thick fog could not obstruct his vision; he saw the world spinning rapidly. The treasured sword in Arthur’s hand seemed to be the switch for the changes of the world, and now that switch had been pressed, the world was bound to become tumultuous.
Only through such upheavals would the secrets hidden deep within the world fully reveal themselves, and then it would be his time to leave.
At this moment, the most important thing before him was to handle the fog. He could already feel that, with the Power of Death growing stronger by the day, the Barrier set up by the world’s Divine Spirits was beginning to crumble.
"As expected of the ancient days, even the mere remnants of power can have such a vast impact," Lu Yu marveled to himself, growing even more wary of those legendary creatures from beyond the sky.
"Fortunately, when the sky falls, there are tall ones to hold it up. With All Saints up front, their presence alone would be a terrible natural disaster wherever they go."
However, the current situation did not yet require the intervention of All Saints; Lu Yu alone was enough to resolve it. After all, he often observed the cycle of Reincarnation, a force tremendously effective against the Power of Death.
There was a cheerful chirping on his arm; Little White Snake had awakened. Having devoured much of the Power of Death, a formidable aura flickered on its body. If it were to venture into the outside world, those with insight would detect an aura similar to that of a Divine Spirit on this snake, one on the brink of ascending to a Divine Position.
However, at that moment, Little White Snake did not exhibit any self-awareness befitting a Divine Spirit. It joyfully circled around Lu Yu, making cheerful sounds. The melodic chirping echoed throughout the Land of Death, adding a trace of vitality to this desolate land.
Seeing this, Lu Yu revealed a gratified smile. This was his first time using The Way of Creation to create a living being. Though it was a bit of a shortcut, the result was extremely pleasing. From any perspective, Little White Snake could be considered a perfect creature. Of course, Lu Yu did not allow himself to become complacent, as he was well aware of the significant assistance provided by this world.

Although still weak, Lu Yu could feel the world’s will showing favor to this little one. Perhaps it was because the position of Grim Reaper in this world had been vacant for too long, or perhaps the world saw the potential to handle the Power of Death within it.
In summary, Lu Yu had created a perfect being, which was very beneficial for his plans ahead.
"Next, I should take good care of this castle. After all, it will be my territory from now on," Lu Yu murmured with a smile, gently stroking Little White Snake’s head, causing it to emit joyful chattering.
