Kaidan Game Train: Abide Rule or Die!-Chapter 2207: Speaking through the Goddess
The current state of the Goddess Statue is different from the active state in the Inquiry Hall; strictly speaking, it is more like a dormant state, with its eyes rarely open and only for short periods, and not fixed on any particular person.
At this moment, it is gentle.
In the scene seen within the Divine Temple, this form of the Goddess actually comes from the believers’ care. So many eyes and tentacles are merely to restore the originally damaged Goddess Statue to have eyes, hands, and feet. Considering the present scene, such efforts from the believers seem to have been combined with their prayers to become part of the Goddess. Is this truly the power of faith?
Many game instances are naturally born, some may not have obvious holders, and some can give birth to humanoid existences. Although it is unclear what they are exactly, rationally they seem more like a high concentration of power, Space-Time Power, Psychic Power, or other forces unknown to humankind.
However unbelievable these powers may seem, their release still relies on the game.
But it is worth mentioning that the birth of these instances is random, meaning it is not a result of game planning. Could this be considered a result of the game’s free development?
At least in the process of similar instances’ birth, the game cannot fully comprehend.
The Saintess on the altar initiated a second round of questioning, she asked the Goddess, "Do you still need the Saintess? If you do, please close your eyes."
Under the watchful eyes of all, the Goddess Statue indeed briefly closed its eyes.
A new wave of cheers erupted, but unlike ordinary believers, the people from the Divine Temple unanimously turned their gaze towards Saintess Snow Robe rather than the Goddess.
Someone attempted to use a prop to block Saintess Snow Robe, yet some players suddenly emerged from the crowd and rose into the sky, using props to intercept the props, forming a confrontation with the Divine Temple’s side. Not all players from the Divine Temple or the local zone have a clear stance; more people are confused about the current situation and involuntarily observing.
The hidden confrontation continued until the end of the cheers, but the Divine Temple’s side held the upper hand, an invisible force approached Saintess Snow Robe, but was blocked by a powerful force before reaching the altar.
Xu Huo’s gaze briefly lingered on the Goddess Statue.
Saintess Snow Robe stood up again and asked, "Goddess, do you still need the child born of the Saintess? If you do, please close your eyes."
The entire square fell silent, for everyone clearly saw the Goddess remained with eyes open, not giving a definite answer.
"What does this mean? Does the Goddess no longer need the Saintess?" Gradually, the crowd began to whisper, some in shock and disbelief, others feeling this confirmed their suspicions. The change in the God’s birthday and previous Divine Temple propaganda caused some believers to doubt the Saintess’s identity.
"Could the rumors be true? Was the first generation Saintess really stealing the Divine Envoy’s achievements?" Those whose hearts were easily swayed began to question.
As more people started questioning, the Divine Envoy on the Central Altar stepped forward, his voice spreading through the streets via a tool, "The Goddess has not abandoned you, do you intend to abandon the Goddess?"
Saintess Snow Robe looked at him, "I am communicating with the Goddess, you should not interrupt."
The Divine Envoy frowned, glancing slightly aside, and a player from the Divine Temple immediately approached. However, before he could ascend the altar, he suddenly cried out and fell to the ground.
Blocked by the Divine Temple, it was unclear what happened to the fall, but most people heard that discordant sound, familiar to believers as the punishment of sinners by the Goddess.
The believers began to kneel, asking the Goddess for forgiveness for interrupting the ritual.
"Divine Envoy, step back," said Saintess Snow Robe, waving her hand.
The Divine Envoy took a step back, staring intently at her back. Meanwhile, other Divine Envoys and nearby players approached the other Saintesses with a threatening intent.
However, Saintess Snow Robe was indifferent, once again looking at the Goddess, "As a Dual-gender Saintess, I have contributed to our country for hundreds of years, but now as the Goddess Church has grown strong, it’s indeed difficult to fulfill our duties alone. If you agree, I wish to transfer this duty to others today because this country has people more suited to communicate with the Goddess."
Having said that, she turned to face the Divine Envoy beside her.
The Divine Envoy who originally intended to stop her was bewildered for a moment. The emergence of a rebellious Saintess and an unresolvable conflict had led the Divine Temple to plan on weakening the Saintess’s prestige, hence altering the God’s birthday, all while maintaining the idea that "the child born of a Saintess is the future of the nation." The best way was to let them retire to the background while gradually taking over.
But there are players among the Saintesses, and there are quite a few local players supporting the Saintess. A direct confrontation would end in mutual destruction; the Divine Envoy’s plan was to reduce the Saintess’s appearances through repeated God’s birthdays, smoothly transitioning, while preparing for unexpected events.
Saintess’s current attitude was bewildering.
Confusion aside, the Divine Envoy instinctively stepped forward, but at that moment, two players escorted a young man onto the altar, unscathed by any attack from the Goddess. They safely arrived, and then Saintess Snow Robe suddenly raised the young man’s hand high, "He is the child of an Outer District person and a local, not a dual-gender, but a normal male. Goddess, do you accept his service? If so, please close your eyes!"
This unexpected move shocked the Divine Envoy’s side into silence, intuitively looking at the Goddess Statue only to find she had closed her eyes again!
Saintess Snow Robe smiled and pushed the young man to the front, accepting the gaze of all believers.
The young man had long been prepared, just about to speak when the Divine Envoy in the background shouted, "How dare you fake a divine miracle!"
Saying so, he pointed below the Goddess Statue, "Arrest that player!"
The Divine Envoy’s side wanted a smooth transition, to diminish the Saintess’s rights, but the Saintess’s side did not intend to let them succeed. So, they used questions to have the Goddess agree to let normal people join the Saintess team. This was also a moderate transition method; once a normal person joined the Saintess team, more would follow, and the identity of the Saintess would become less important, strengthening their ranks.
Neither side wanted to flip the table, hence the pretense through the Goddess’s voice, waiting just a few more minutes would establish this as a fact.
But the Divine Envoy’s side refused, using "faking a divine miracle" to undermine the young man’s position, with no inquiry or accountability, breaking the scene under the pretext of "faking a divine miracle," and then calling for the Saintess’s withdrawal, handling it within closed doors in the Divine Temple before announcing externally.
The ritual was formally interrupted, chaos suddenly erupted, players from the Divine Temple and the local zone moved in unison, quickly gathering around the altar, and while the believers couldn’t comprehend the situation, a confrontation ensued. The Divine Envoy’s side managed to control half of the Saintesses, hinting at Snow Robe to concede. 𝑓𝘳𝘦𝑒𝑤𝑒𝘣𝘯ℴ𝘷𝘦𝓁.𝑐𝑜𝑚
"Outer Zone players harbor ill intentions, is even Saintess Tiantian, who listens to the Goddess daily, brainwashed? Hand over that person!" The Divine Envoy went on the offensive first.
"I asked the Goddess in public, could the Goddess be deceived?" Saintess Snow Robe sneered repeatedly and said loudly, "You don’t believe in the message the Goddess conveyed to me, then you ask yourself!"
"Do you dare ask? Can you ask? Can you hear the Goddess’s words?!"
