Meanwhile, at the underground chamber...

[Static. Of course there would be static.]

When the possessed man attempted to direct his attention to the black glass mirror to try and see what was going on at the [Gallery of Cloaked Mirrors], all he got back was a whole mess of static.

As an ancient being, he knew precisely what this static represented. However, the rest of the people present had no clue what they were staring at in the slightest.

Most of their communication-based abilities didn't produce static; they just didn't connect.

^ Honored ancestor, what's going on?^Duke Diamoro asked for the group.

[You're staring at the reason why my ritual was so rudely interrupted,] the possessed man answered while releasing a sigh of pure annoyance. [And the reason why you and your fellow warriors have just earned an opportunity to be greatly rewarded for services rendered.]

^Oh? And what kind of opportunity is that?^

[The kind that involves you lot entering the mirror and capturing whomever is causing all of this interference.]

^Of course, of course...wait, what?^

[Now that I think about it, there's enough of you if we include th warriors outside, so let's divide and conquer.]

____ Now back to the action… ____

^Show me your true power!^ Abbott Longhorn roared as he leveled his [Astra] in Zhen Liu's direction and circulated his aether to a level that seemed to surpass even a peak Aether Lord.

When Zhen Liu confronted Elder Tusk not too long ago, he had become significantly more paranoid over the fact that he had discovered yet another source of power that could harm [Chaos], namely the paradoxical desire of [Nirvana]. Hence why he wanted to try and avoid any interaction with antagonistic Buddhists if he could help it in the slightest.

However, Zhen Liu didn't think that once he confronted Abbott Longhorn. Instead, he felt oddly excited.

'Huh...I guess Corpse Doll was right,' Zhen Liu thought to himself as he got a better read on Abbott Longhorn. 'This guy is positively brimming with [Desire].'

When Zhen Liu stated down Elder Tusk, he knew damn well that that guy was a true blue Buddhist pursuing Nirvana and felt that most, if not all, of his attacks would cause way more damage than what they were actually capable of doing.

This bull-headed monk, though, Zhen Liu could feel he could actually take in a fight. Hell, he could probably go all out and actually felt challenged.

Well, partially anyway.

Zhen Liu could feel from Abbott Longhorns's aura that while there was a small modicum of Nirvana energy mixed in, it wasn't enough to outright overpower Zhen Liu's [Chaos].

As such, he decided to grant this man's wish and stop holding back.

...

'Blazejudicator, Nepeherage. Can y'all act as my sword and shield, respectively?'

[Of course, Executor.]

[Wait, you don't need one of us to enhance your cultivation?]

'Trying something.'

...

[Very well, Abbott.] Zhen Liu answered in the language of [Chaos], which caused Abbott Longhorn to visibly flinch. [You want to face the Kaijin Lord at full power, so be it. Ha!]

Zhen Liu began to circulate his [Chaos] in a way that mimicked his mirror doppelganger moments ago.

Once he did, he could literally feel the power within him flow in the same way as if Screamira was possessing him.

^Good...very good!^ Abbott Longhorn roared once he felt Zhen Liu was becoming more and more serious by the second. ^Let's see if you're able to keep doing that while under assault!^

[Divine Bull's Charge!]

'Blazejudicator, Taboo form.'

'Nepherage, Stigma form.'

[As you command!]

[As you wish!]

Abbott Longhorn proceeded to surround himself in aether that quickly took on the form of a huge golden bull and charge towards Zhen Liu, his [Astra] leveled in such a manner that the blunt spade-like blade at the end was aimed directly towards Zhen Liu's abdomen, while the golden bull's horns were leveled with Zhen Liu's shoulders.

If this attack landed, then Zhen Liu would get bisected and then impaled to the wall.

But before this attack could land, Blazejudicator's and Nepherage's transformations kicked in first.

Nepherage's [Stigma] manifested first, transforming Zhen Liu's [Regalia] into appearing as if it were made of deep crimson jade and making him appear significantly more heroic than he was moments ago.

Using his [Regalia] covered arms, Zhen Liu proceeded to stomp the ground to create a foothold and grab the bull horns that were primed to pierce him. Heavy gauntlets locked them in place, putting a damper on Abbott Longhorn's charge for a handful of seconds.

'Oh, he still has faith. That's fascinating,' Zhen Liu noted as he felt the sting of Nirvana energy pierce through his palms and crawl up his arms.

Thankfully, he wasn't going to be feeling this pain for much longer.

^Disperse!^

"Huh?"

Abbott Longhorn dismissed the bull construct encapsulating his body and proceeded to redirect the energy towards his [Astra].

[Unicorn's Spiral Destroyer!]

The influx of aether caused the spade end of Abbott Longhorn's [Astra] to start spinning like a blender. Needless to say, any unfortunate victim pierced by this major Corporeal art would end up with their insides looking like freshly ground sausage meat.

However, before such a gruesome sight could occur, Blazejudicator had finished manifesting as a [Taboo].

Bang!

^Huh?!^

Moments before the monk spade blended Zhen Liu's insides, a baseball-sized payer bead suddenly knocked Abbott Longhorn's [Astra] astray and caught the old monk off guard.

And left him wide-open to getting absolutely pummelled by three more baseball-sized prayer beads that impacted his torso one after the other before knocking him away.

^Bah! What the fuck?!^ Abbott Longhorn cursed as he regained his footing and watched as the beads that had just impacted him fly back to Zhen Liu's side.

[You wanted to face me at my all, right? Well here it is!]

At this moment, Zhen Liu was surrounded by fourteen distinctly colored beads that orbited around him like moons around a planet.

Dressed in a fully crimson [Stigma], Zhen Liu looked a celestial messenger about to cast judgement on a sinner.

Granted, this observation hadn't dawned on Zhen Liu until Abbott Longhorn pointed it out.

^One...two...fourteen beads...you dare to manifest an [Astra] in the form of the fourteen beads of Guanyin? How dare you?! This is sacrilege!^

...

'Wait, you somehow took on the form of a prayer beads? How?'

[I'm not entirely sure to be honest,] Blazejudicator admitted. [It just felt right.]

'I...ya know, I never really asked this before, but do you guys consciously choose how your [Taboo] and [Stigma] forms look, or...'

[I think our forms are based on how you first made us,] Blazejudicator answered. [Since I'm technically modeled after an underworld judge, maybe that's why I'm now a bunch of floating beads?]

'Huh...welp, time to break the news that you aren't that...I think. Also, Corpse Doll, Porcelain Doll, now would be a great time to charge up a big attack.'

[Kk.]

[As you say, Caretaker.]

...

^That...is not really what these beads repesent, or did you fail to notice the symbols written on their surfaces?^ Zhen Liu asked as he directed the beads to gather in front of him in form of a large circle.

At his behest, the fourteen beads began to glow with color, highlighting that carved into each bead was a symbol written in an langue that was undecipherable to the old monk.

^The fourteen beads you know of repesent the virtues of the Merciful Goddess ,but these ones right here represent the seven virtues and seven vices that all men are subjected to,^ Zhen Liu explained.

^Seven virtues and vices?^ Abbott Longhorn repeated, unaware of this philosophy.

^Is it not one of the core tenants of Buddhism that one must release their desires in order to achieve enlightenment?^ Zhen Liu rhetorically asked to get his next point across. ^Well, in my experience as the Lord of Desire, I find that every mortal has seven main desires and that every virtue and vice can be scaled upon them as either being lacking or in excess.^

To get his point even further across, as well as distract Abbott Longhorn long enough for Porcelain Doll and Corpse Doll to their thing, Zhen Liu began to pair off and name each bead.

^Gluttony and Temperance, Kindness and Envy, Wrath and Patience, Lust and Chasity, Diligence and Sloth, Humility and Pride, Greed and Charity,^ Zhen Liu listed off as each pair glowed and floated back into orbit. ^And the thing that controls them all is [Desire].^

Entering a fighting stance, Zhen Liu directed his focus towards Abbott Longhorn with an intense gaze. ^And let me say, that you are absolutely lousy with [Desire].^

Evidently, this was the most scathing insult that Abbott Longhorn had ever heard.

[Yin Yang Palm!]×2

^GUFU!^

But before Abbott Longhorn could share his rage, Porcelain Doll and Corpse Doll finished charging and deemed that now was the time to attack.

^And that's why you don't let someone monologue,^ Zhen Liu mocked.
