Chapter 22 - The guardian shall awaken
As the blue light from the Azure Crystal slowly dimmed, the air inside the ancient temple became heavy. A deep, resonating voice echoed through the chamber, sending a shiver down Sho and Kyoko's spines.
"You are the current leader of the Seiryu Clan, correct?"

From the shadows of the temple, a figure emerged.
The Guardian of Azure Mountain.
A towering, armored figure with glowing azure eyes and a presence so powerful that it felt as if the very air around them bowed in respect. His body seemed to be part human, part spirit, an ethereal blue energy flowing through his form like mist.
Fuyutake took a deep breath and stepped forward, his expression unwavering. "Yes. I am Fuyutake, leader of the Seiryu Clan."
The Guardian studied him for a moment, as if weighing his soul. Then, he spoke.
"You have brought the Azure Crystal to its rightful place. That proves your dedication."
Sho and Kyoko remained silent, their eyes locked on the scene unfolding before them. They had never seen anything like this.
Then, to their surprise, Fuyutake bowed his head.
"Guardian," he said, his voice steady, "I have come not only to return the Azure Crystal... but to ask for something more."
The Guardian tilted his head slightly. "Speak."
"I wish to be trained," Fuyutake declared. "I seek the power to protect my clan, to uphold the will of our ancestors, and to face whatever threats may come."
Sho and Kyoko gasped. Fuyutake... wanted to train under the Guardian?
The temple grew silent.
Then, after what felt like an eternity, the Guardian let out a low hum. His glowing eyes flickered as if assessing Fuyutake's determination.
Finally, he spoke. "Very well. Your request is accepted."
A surge of energy pulsed through the room. The ancient walls trembled as if acknowledging the pact being made.
Then, the Guardian turned his gaze to Sho and Kyoko. "You two must leave."
Sho and Kyoko exchanged glances.
Kyoko hesitated. "But—"
The Guardian's voice was calm but firm. "This training is not meant for you. Fuyutake has chosen his path. Now, you must continue yours."
Fuyutake turned to them and gave a small nod. "Go. I'll return when my training is complete."
Sho felt conflicted, but he knew there was no point in arguing. He clenched his fists and exhaled.
Kyoko, however, took a step forward. "Fuyutake... please, stay safe."
Fuyutake gave her a reassuring smile. "I will."
Then, with a wave of his hand, his aura flared, and the dragon he summoned earlier reappeared.
It coiled around Sho and Kyoko, lifting them gently into the air.
The last thing they saw before leaving the temple was Fuyutake standing tall before the Guardian, ready to begin his training.
As the dragon descended, Sho and Kyoko landed safely on the ground below the Azure Mountain.
Sho stretched his arms. "That was intense."
Kyoko looked up at the temple, a flicker of sadness in her eyes. "It's my first time seeing the Guardian of my clan... and now my brother will train under him."
Sho glanced at her. "He's cool and powerful."
Kyoko smiled faintly. "Yeah... he is."
There was a brief silence between them. The night air was crisp, the wind carrying the scent of the mountain.
Sho sighed and turned away. "Alright... I'm heading back now."
Kyoko blinked. "You're leaving already?"
Sho nodded. "I have my own journey to continue. My clan is waiting for me."
Kyoko hesitated. "Will we... see each other again?"
Sho smirked. "Of course. This isn't goodbye forever."
With that, he turned and started walking away, his silhouette disappearing into the distance.
Kyoko watched him go, then looked back at the towering Azure Mountain.
Things were changing.
