Killed Me? Now I Have Your Power-Chapter 78: KILL [2]
Chapter 78: Chapter 78: KILL [2]
Chapter 78 – KILL [2]
Kaden appeared inside a whole different environment. He had expected to find himself in the middle of a deep black ocean that screamed danger, or even face-to-face with a monster that could kill him with a glance, but instead, he found himself inside a lush green expanse with no end in sight—a place that screamed peace and tranquility.
Two terms that should never be used to describe a dungeon.
But Kaden wasn’t even touched by the beauty of the scene. He just stood there, arms relaxed at his sides, eyes holding a glint of amusement as he scanned the vibrant world around him.
Suddenly, in front of him, a panel flickered to life.
{You have entered the dungeon: Eternal Resting Place.}
{Dungeon Difficulty: Intermediate rank.}
{Possible Rewards: Evolution Stone (Rare Rank) and Artifacts.}
That was it. No instructions on how to clear it, no warnings, no cryptic prophecy. Just the name of the dungeon, the difficulty level, and the potential loot.
Only that.
And honestly, it was enough. Kaden didn’t need guidance. He would figure it out on his own.
’Now then...’
As if responding to his thought, Death chimed in.
[DING! You have received a new quest: Evolution Stone.]
[Difficulty: Easy ~ Middle.]
[Description: You have remained at the Awakened rank for far too long, Child of Blood. Clear the dungeon, obtain the evolution stone, and evolve further.]
[Rewards: 500 Death Coins | 50 Stat Points.]
[Penalty: None.]
Kaden read through the panel and couldn’t help but feel disappointed. He had expected more for something related to evolution. Much more.
But he understood. The rewards reflected the difficulty, and this was only between easy and middle. Nothing insane.
Still, even while reading, his awareness of his surroundings never dropped—not even for a second. A perk of his new Extreme Skill.
He slowly raised his gaze again, scanning the horizon. Then he started walking, his steps light, almost casual, as if he had nothing better to do than enjoy a walk in a tranquil paradise.
His pace looked random, his path meaningless, as if he was simply taking in the scenery and the fresh, grassy air that was filled with vitality. He let it go on like that until, surprisingly, the sun inside the dungeon began to set and night fell.
Kaden found it odd. He had never heard of a dungeon with a functioning day and night cycle.
But he didn’t overthink it.
When the sky darkened, he felt the drowsiness hit him—sharp and sudden—and without resistance, he lay down peacefully on the comfortable grass, letting sleep take him with no fear, no hesitation.
It looked like Kaden had suddenly become very free, very unbothered.
Soon, he was asleep. Snoring, even.
Moments after his breathing slowed, the lush green field around him began to dissolve. Slowly, subtly, it faded into something else entirely—a deep, shifting void that flickered between existence and nonexistence.
And just beneath the peacefully sleeping Kaden, a huge beast stirred.
At first glance, it looked like a mountain. But no...it was a hulking creature, its body covered in mossy, shimmering skin that shifted colors with the wind, its mass so colossal that trees had grown along its spine like scars.
Its eyes were massive, wide-set, amphibian, far apart like a chameleon’s, constantly rotating, constantly watching.
Its skin rippled like water, changing colors every second to blend into the fading landscape.
The beast stared at Kaden for a long moment before it slowly opened its gaping mouth, revealing rows upon rows of jagged teeth as if preparing to swallow him whole.
"Finally... It was kind of hard to pretend," Kaden’s voice echoed suddenly, sharp and calm, as his crimson eyes snapped open before he vanished from the spot like a phantom.
SNAP.
The beast’s mouth shut on nothing but air.
It turned, its massive eyes adjusting as it spotted Kaden now standing meters away, unfazed, arms folded, gaze steady.
The beast’s eyes reflected slight surprise.
Kaden tilted his head slightly as he examined the creature. Then, slowly, he smiled.
A wicked, amused, eager smile.
"You must be a rare one if you can use illusion at this level. Care to try and kill me? I just want to verify something," he said, his voice steady, grin stretching wider.
But the beast didn’t move. It didn’t roar, didn’t attack, it just looked at him. Its massive eyes reflected something akin to...
Laziness.
Kaden’s lips twitched.
"No seriously...?"
...
Darklore — Wilderness
Deep in the wilderness outside of Waverith, in a barren stretch of land without a single tree or rock in sight, only sand, a hidden Warborn camp stood surrounded by barriers made of jagged steel spikes. The camp was made of multiple tents, grouped tightly together for defense.
In the center of the camp stood a larger tent, colored in a deep red so rich it looked like dried blood. On the flapping door of the tent was a single engraved crest.
The Warborn sigil.
Inside, Daela sat on a throne—simple but high. In front of her knelt Boris, freshly returned from Fokay.
"My lady, I followed your instructions to the letter. Young master Kaden should already be inside the dungeon, beginning his quest for the evolution stone," Boris said, bowing low, his voice filled with the reverence he always showed her.
Daela gave a small nod, her expression unreadable as ever. Beside her, Sana stood silently, watching the interaction with her usual calm.
"And..." Boris hesitated briefly, prompting Daela’s gaze to shift toward him.
"Young master Kaden told me to say hi to you, my lady," Boris said, simple and direct, unaware of the chaos he had just ignited.
Daela’s expression didn’t change—but Sana, who had been watching her closely, noticed how her body subtly trembled.
’He didn’t forget about me... he didn’t forget... he said hi to me...’
’Does it mean he misses me?’
’Does he miss me like I miss him? Does he think of me all the time too...?’
Daela’s thoughts spun wildly. The fact her cute little brother had sent her a simple greeting—just a "hi"—meant everything to her.
It meant he cared. That he still remembered. That those other girls around him hadn’t clouded his judgment.
A deep warmth spread through her chest, and all she wanted now was a moment alone so she could go look at the pictures she had secretly gathered of him.
Just as she was about to excuse herself, a soldier burst through the tent entrance. He was covered in blood and accompanied by two more behind him.
They all dropped to their knees the moment they entered.
"Young Lady, urgent news. The Steelbeasts are attacking again."
"And this time, a Master-ranked beast is leading them. We need you to start the battle, my lady."
The air inside the tent froze.
Master rank. Already...?
Boris and Sana exchanged a sharp glance, their expressions hardening immediately. Why were the Steelbeasts so eager to provoke? Were they really asking for war?
The tension was instant. Their bodies shifted, their aura sharpened.
Daela didn’t speak right away. She simply turned toward Sana and asked,
"Mother and Father?"
"The Cerveau have called a sudden emergency meeting between family heads. They can’t act right now," Sana responded, her voice cold, her presence radiating steel.
Daela didn’t need to hear more. Under normal circumstances, she might have ignored it—but she was the type of sister who remembered every word her brother ever said.
And he had said it clearly.
Don’t trust the Cerveau. Be careful.
So whatever they were planning... wouldn’t be good for them.
But even if she wanted to act, there was nothing she could do now.
So she turned inward.
’Be fast and come back, my dear little brother,’ she thought as she stood from her throne and started walking toward the exit.
’And in the meantime... I’ll do the only thing I’m good at.’
Outside the tents, just beyond the jagged steel barriers, hundreds of beasts were approaching.
They were a fusion of steel, flesh, and fire—humanoid in form but monstrously tall, with glowing eyes that screamed only one thing: kill.
But none of the Warborn soldiers behind Daela flinched.
They looked on with absolute indifference.
Daela stared at the incoming horde for a moment, then turned her gaze toward the commander seated on the back of a steel-plated beast.
She opened her mouth. One word left her lips.
"Kill."
And immediately—
"KIIIIIIIIILLLLLLLLLLLLL!"
The Warborn soldiers roared with crazed eyes, charging forward like unleashed demons.
The battle had begun.
