Killed Me? Now I Have Your Power-Chapter 87: Weakness is a sin [4]
Chapter 87: Chapter 87: Weakness is a sin [4]
Chapter 87 – Weakness is a sin [4]
"Ah, fucking shit, what the fuck is this?" Inara cursed as she immediately backed away from the disgusting monsters writhing on the ground.
They were leeches—small, worm-like creatures with segmented bodies.
Their color was green... just like her blood.
Which made sense, she supposed. They were created from her own blood, after all.
But Inara hadn’t expected such revolting things to be the result.
She sighed, keeping her distance, arms crossed, nose wrinkled in visible disgust.
She hated this.
Yet despite her feelings, she could feel it—some kind of link, a faint but undeniable connection between her and those creatures.
It was like—
"I’m their mother..."
"Fuck!" Inara cursed again, more disturbed than before.
No matter what had happened to her in life, never forget—she was a princess. Treated as such. Raised with affection and doted on by her mother.
Sure, she carried emotional scars, feelings of inadequacy and unworthiness because of her talent but this?
This was something new to her.
Now she had to deal with leeches?
Inara clenched her fists, on the verge of swearing again but held herself back.
She only had three hours to complete this trial, and one of them had already slipped by.
"The trial is to create... and to control," she reminded herself silently.
The first part was done.
Now came the second.
She took a deep breath, composed herself, and stepped forward. There were 12 leeches slithering sluggishly across the ground.
The moment she approached, they all reacted.
But not the same way.
Some rushed toward her eagerly, like puppies sensing their mother. Others slithered away, keeping their distance, almost disgusted by her presence. The last group simply stayed where they were—silent, still, as if they didn’t care one way or another.
Inara’s gaze fell on the first group—the eager ones—and slowly, instinctively, she reached out her hand.
Her fingers trembled slightly, but her palm remained open.
The leeches curled lovingly around it, clinging to her skin as if greeting their creator.
And to her surprise, Inara understood them. Not with words—but with instinct, with feeling. Without realizing it, a small, reluctant smile crept onto her lips.
"It’s... not that bad," she admitted quietly to herself, feeling something warm and unfamiliar growing inside her.
She closed her eyes briefly, and with a single thought—transferring her will into their tiny minds—she gave her first command.
Stop moving.
The moment they received it, they obeyed without hesitation, falling still like obedient children.
Inara smiled, pleased.
She lifted her head, expecting the trial’s voice to echo again, announcing her success but there was only silence.
She frowned.
"I did exactly what it said. What’s left...?"
Her gaze shifted.
There were still two groups of leeches she hadn’t touched.
Her eyes narrowed.
"So I have to control all of them, huh?"
Without hesitation, she walked toward the unmoving ones—the indifferent ones.
She did the same as before, channeling her will into a single command.
Come to me.
Her intent spread across the small creatures, washing into their minds.
But none moved.
Some twitched slightly, as if feeling the pull but none obeyed.
"Disobedient children already...?" Inara thought, and irritation rose like bile in her throat.
There were two things anyone should have known about Inara by now,
She loved to curse.
And she had zero patience.
She didn’t tolerate nonsense. freёnovelkiss.com
"The trial said to control them. It never said I could not kill them," Inara said coldly.
Still, she decided to give them a chance.
Obey... or die.
Her will was sharp, unforgiving. The message was clear.
One of them detached from the group and slithered toward her hesitantly, trembling with fear.
She reached out and let it curl in her palm.
Then, without hesitation—
SPLASH!
She crushed the rest beneath her foot with merciless precision.
Their green body burst instantly, painting the ground.
The third group, the ones who had distanced themselves froze immediately.
They turned and stared, the subtle intelligence in their tiny bodies recognizing what had just happened.
Inara’s will rang through their minds next.
Submit... or die.
There was no room for compromise.
Immediately, they began moving fastly toward her—as fast as leeches could, at least—slithering frantically, obediently.
And when all five of them nestled into her palm, the voice of the trial finally echoed:
"Second Trial Completed."
"Second Lesson: A True Mother of Monsters must control, destroy, or love her children but never allow herself to be ruled, or tolerate disobedience."
A pause.
Then—
"Third Test: Madness."
"Drink all the blood in the pool and withstand the madness."
The moment the voice faded, a small pool of blood materialized beside her.
Inara turned her head and saw it. Immediately she frowned.
The blood was... wrong.
Alien.
It looked like a mix of something she couldn’t understand. Its color was so dark it bordered on blackened charcoal, and the scent it gave off—
The scent alone made her head spin.
She took a step back, her instincts warning her. She needed distance, she needed to gather her thoughts.
The five leeches were still nestled in her palm, and the moment the pool appeared, they began to tremble violently.
Without thinking, Inara shielded them with her other hand.
"...Fuck," she muttered. "Now I have to take monsters as my children and care for them?"
"I didn’t sign up for this, goddammit..."
She cursed again, this time less out of rage and more out of unease.
The word "madness" made it clear, she was going to feel unbelievable pain.
But she didn’t have a choice.
This was her path.
Her chance to change, to rise and to become something more.
"Pain is temporary... regret is eternal," she whispered, voice low and instantly her gaze sharpened like poisonous steel.
Without hesitation, she tore a strip from her elegant green dress and wrapped it gently around her five new children, setting them aside.
Then she stepped toward the pool and crouched down.
And—
GULP!
She drank the whole blood in one breath.
"ARRRGHHHHHH!!!"
A soul-tearing scream erupted from her lips as agony surged through her body. It wasn’t just physical pain—it was deeper.
Worse.
It touched her soul.
She collapsed immediately, convulsing, her limbs twisting in unnatural directions as she rolled across the floor, her form curling in on itself in raw suffering.
Her eyes bled. Her mouth bled. Her ears bled.
Black blood poured from every orifice.
And then the visions came.
Monsters.
Things that no mortal mind should ever witness.
A creature with hundreds of writhing serpent heads, its body forged from storms, its voice shattering the skies.
Another—a grotesque fusion of beastly traits: lion, goat, serpent... more. An abomination that defied comprehension.
And towering above all of them... a petal-fleshed horror, eyeless and endless, with rows upon rows of teeth hidden inside blooming flowers of rot.
The more she saw, the more her soul fractured.
Her mind cracked.
Her very being began to dissolve.
This wasn’t knowledge—this was annihilation.
"F-Fuck..." Inara gasped between broken breaths, her body trembling violently.
Her soul was breaking. Her thoughts—slipping. The pain too much.
And for just a moment...
She wanted to give up.
She wished for release.
But then—
She stopped herself from going further on this path and held on.
Because her mind... her will... was strong.
And when you’re standing on the edge of madness, there’s only one thing to do.
Or rather...she could do.
She whispered the words that had kept her going since that fateful day...
"W-Weakness... is a s-sin."
