Kingdom Simulator: I, a Fallen Noble, Build a God-Level Kingdom!-Chapter 38: Don’t Let Lord Romon Get Too Tired
Chapter 38: Chapter 38: Don’t Let Lord Romon Get Too Tired
Spidevs still thought Nini was the same girl she could control at will, just like before. She still believed she could freely decide what happened to Nini’s body.
"Teacher, why are you in such a hurry to see Lord? Didn’t I say so already? Lord knew you were coming, so he sent me here to meet with you. You haven’t even said whether you agree or not."
"Enough!" Spidevs shoved Nini aside, thinking the girl was just flaunting her job and putting on an attitude on purpose. "I’m going to kill your precious Lord, put his lovely head at your bedside, and remind you every single day who the hell you really ought to listen to, you filthy cat!"
Upon hearing this,
Nini couldn’t help but feel a murderous urge rise within her.
But she couldn’t act just yet. Given Spidevs’ current mood and the distance between them, even if she tried a sneak attack, she wouldn’t be able to kill her in one blow.
By the time Spidevs realized what was happening, the one to die would be her.
She needed to push Spidevs’ emotions, to get a little closer—close enough to guarantee a successful surprise attack. Only then could she make her move.
Even though the collar had boosted her abilities, there was still a clear gap in strength between them. She had to use emotional manipulation to bridge that gap.
"Teacher, I’ve always listened to you..."
Nini began her performance, recounting her tragic childhood and her repressed youth, then moving from that stifled adolescence to her pitiful adulthood. She described the mother she remembered, judged the father she had killed with her own hands, and gradually merged the image of her mother in her mind with Spidevs. She poured her heart out...
After such words, it was clear Spidevs was moved.
But she hadn’t forgotten her original mission. Deep down, she understood what kind of life awaited Nini after taking over her role.
So, Spidevs mustered a bit of patience and stepped forward, pulling Nini into a hug. fɾeeweɓnѳveɭ.com
"Child. This is our fate. I don’t regret teaching you everything I know, but you have to think of me too, and of all the other sisters in the organization. Everyone up and down the ranks needs money. You just happen to be sitting on the safest throne. Even if the Thune Lord rises and falls, your throne will always be glorious. Do you think it was easy for me? I struggled and suffered..."
Spidevs tried to continue brainwashing Nini with her words.
But she only got halfway through her speech before a curved blade slid into her side, slipped precisely between her ribs, and split her heart in two.
With her heart shattered, the power inside Spidevs drained away like water swirling down a vortex.
"You..."
Spidevs instinctively went to grab her weapon, only to realize her curved blade was already in Nini’s hands.
Nini held both curved blades, quickly retreating to a safe distance.
Spidevs looked at Nini, and she had never seen that expression on the girl’s face before.
"Teacher, life wasn’t easy for you—so go to a world where it is. I’m the master’s slave. If he dies, I’ll die too. But I’ll do everything I can to please him. He’s way more handsome than those fat pigs and old men who used to use you. Every time he enters my body, I climax. Being with him is so much better than going out and selling myself with you."
Spidevs’ eyes widened as she listened to Nini’s final, frenzied words. All these years, Nini had never dared to speak to her with such arrogance. At last, she realized Nini had changed.
Master? Slave? Yes, she had changed from that very moment.
Suddenly, Spidevs understood where that sense of dread in her heart had come from. Clutching her chest, the fatal wound filled her with terror.
Then, in the final 21 seconds of her life, she didn’t dare face Nini for a last showdown. Instead, she turned and ran toward the door.
Blood streamed down from her ribs, slid past her hip bone, and finally dripped down her thigh.
A trail of blood marked her path. The door wasn’t heavy, but it felt like it took all her remaining strength to open it. She stumbled over the threshold, desperately trying to escape down the corridor.
But with every step, the darkness in her vision thickened. After barely a dozen steps, all she could see was blackness.
Her life ebbed away as her brain was starved of blood, and death claimed her completely.
"Whore, you got what you deserved." Nini strolled forward, pressed Spidevs’ own curved blade against her neck, and then drove it down with all her strength.
...
Inside the maze.
Romon, watching through the simulator’s blueprints, saw that the red-alerted Spidevs was now completely dead, and finally let out a sigh of relief.
With its many rooms and winding corridors, the maze was a pretty decent place to hide out. Worst case, he could find a boss room to hole up in and wait things out.
As long as Nini was keeping Spidevs busy, he had plenty of time to stay hidden.
Now, not only had Nini kept Spidevs occupied, she’d actually killed her outright—far exceeding Romon’s expectations.
"Let’s head back."
"Huh? But I just got here, Lord Romon!" Lornis protested. She hadn’t even touched the supplies she’d packed, and now they were already going back?
Weren’t they supposed to be hiding out in the maze for a while?
"Let’s go back, Lornis. The assassin is dead—I can feel it."
At that, Lornis could only shoulder her backpack and follow Romon back.
When the two of them returned to the castle, they could hear the occasional splash of water, and the sewer carrying away blood-tinged dirty water.
Romon climbed the stairs and immediately saw Nini cleaning up. Blood had sprayed across seven or eight meters of the black stone floor—judging by the pattern, Nini must have chopped off Spidevs’ head.
As for the body and the head, they were nowhere to be seen.
"Master, I’ve completed the task you gave me!" Nini put down her bucket, her golden eyes fragile, like a clay doll about to shatter at any moment. She hated Spidevs, but after killing her, she had finally severed all ties with her past.
Lornis caught the scent of blood lingering in the corridor. She set down her pack, walked over, took the bucket from Nini’s hands, and said softly, "Let me handle this."
Romon looked at the thoughtful Lornis, and at Nini, who clearly needed both a reward and comfort.
He beckoned to her, and Nini immediately threw herself into his arms.
On the outer side of the corridor was an openwork railing, offering a view of the castle’s interior.
Nini nuzzled into Romon’s chest and soon felt something hard against her. Her breathing immediately became unsteady. Her legs went weak, and she sank to her knees.
With her teeth, she gently undid Romon’s buttons, rubbing her delicate nose against her beloved prize. She inhaled deeply, letting the scent calm her and wash away the lingering shadow of killing her teacher.
Nini never once used her bloodstained hands. Instead, she worked skillfully with her tongue and neck. Romon felt a suction like never before—greedy Nini almost drew him to the point of pain.
Unable to help himself, Romon patted her head soothingly. "You did very well—you even finished ahead of schedule. What reward do you want?"
Nini reluctantly paused just long enough to answer, "This is my reward. Mmm..."
Romon let out a breath of relief, raising his gaze to the distance, then glancing back at Lornis, who was still cleaning. She, too, snuck glances in their direction, her mouth unconsciously watering. Swallowing, she asked, "Lord Romon, what shall we eat later?"
Lornis’s question startled Nini, and her swallowing made Romon feel as if he were floating.
"Let’s have some lamb. You girls have nearly drained me dry these days—I need to replenish myself."
Hearing this, Lornis nodded, tossed the dirty rag into the bucket, and reminded Nini, "Nini, just once—don’t tire Lord Romon out."
"Mmph!" Nini, unwilling to let go, blinked her eyes to show her understanding.
In terms of status, a slave was lower than a maid, but only just. Lornis, however, was a senior figure in Thune Territory and deserved respect from everyone.
If she said just once, then once it must be.
Since she only had one chance, Nini was reluctant to waste even a second. She straightened her legs, then suddenly let go, turned around, and leaned over the railing.
"Master..."
"You little glutton."
Romon pressed close. Nini’s waist was so slender that his hands could nearly meet around it, his thumbs almost touching at the front.
As he moved, he asked, "Do you feel sad now?"
"No, not sad, Master. I just feel empty inside... but from now on, all that space belongs to you."
"Where’s your teacher?" Romon asked.
"I threw Spidevs’ body on the mountaintop. As for her head, I kept it in a box—just in case you wanted to use it to send a message," Nini replied.
At her words, Romon gave Nini a sharp slap, leaving a bright red handprint on her pale skin.
"You certainly think a lot, but that was unnecessary. I have no use for her head as a warning," he said.
With that, Romon opened the simulator’s blueprint. The map still didn’t display the [Knight of Honor] icon; instead, the siege of Stone Town had become a stalemate.
Stone Town didn’t have many official troops, but with its fortifications, it could hold out for a while. Right now, they were like turtles—only defending, not attacking. The Nightingale Lord was probably still fantasizing about Spidevs bringing him Romon’s head. Unfortunately for him, Spidevs had lost her own first.
As Romon studied the blueprint, he knew in his heart that even with the assassination problem solved, Thune Territory couldn’t afford a long war.
For one, Thune’s supplies were limited. More importantly, the Nightingale Lord still had plenty of elite forces at his command. His territory was large, though, forcing him to spread his experts thin to defend many locations.
If the Nightingale Lord decided to go all in and gather all his top fighters, Thune Territory wouldn’t stand a chance.
That meant Romon had to take Stone Town and reclaim lost ground before the Nightingale Lord could make such a move.
He’d been preparing for this all along.
Talia’s Orbital Magic was designed for exactly this purpose—all that was needed was someone to act as a spotter, and Talia could bombard the town from afar, even through walls.
Romon had made sure that person was ready from the start.
That was Pito, the [Unerring Centaur]. Even with her eyes closed, Pito could hit the city hall with perfect accuracy.
All it would take was a touch of magic on her arrow, and Talia’s strikes would be dead on target.
