Kingdom Simulator: I, a Fallen Noble, Build a God-Level Kingdom!-Chapter 55: That’s My Castle—Hurry, Take Her Inside
Chapter 55: Chapter 55: That’s My Castle—Hurry, Take Her Inside
"That’s my castle—hurry, carry her inside." Romon, seeing the extent of her wounds up close, immediately gave the order.
Most of her injuries weren’t too serious, but there was a clear stab wound near her heart, and a contusion on her neck from some blunt force. The severity of these wounds would have killed an ordinary person long ago. Yet the elf queen’s heart still beat, though her breathing was labored.
"Are any of you clerics?" Romon asked.
"Cleric..." The elves shook their heads. The long-haired elf on the left replied, "We have no clerics. We treat wounds with herbs alone."
Without hesitation, Romon issued a command: "Nini, go to the manor and bring Janice here."
Janice usually spent her mornings making offerings at the statue of the Goddess of Wisdom. It was about that time now.
"Yes!" Nini replied, and her figure instantly vanished from sight.
Soon after, as the group carried the elf queen into the nearby castle, Nini returned from the forest with Janice in tow.
There was no time for explanations. The moment Janice saw the queen’s injuries, she called out, "Quick, set her down!"
At Janice’s direction, they gently laid the elf queen on the castle floor.
Almost at once, a holy light radiated from Janice’s hands, bathing the elf queen in its glow. As she examined the injuries, Janice explained to Romon, "It’s thanks to her own strength that she survived—otherwise, these wounds would have been fatal."
Romon picked up on the unspoken message and asked the elves, "What’s her strength level?"
"By human ranks, the queen is about to become a Dawnstrider Archer," the long-haired elf replied.
Dawnstrider Archer? About to become one? That meant she was at the very peak of Volleyshot Archer.
That was already a tier above Knight of Honor, and two above ordinary mages or assassins.
Elves may not have been Romon’s ideal technologically-minded race, but the queen’s power was certainly attractive. If he could persuade the elves to stay, it would be a huge boon for Thune Territory.
Since she was at the peak of Volleyshot Archer, then with enough time and the right cultural influence, she’d surely break through to Dawnstrider Archer—just one step below Royal Archer!
"Can you heal her, Janice?" Romon asked.
"My lord, her wounds are severe. Worst of all, too much time has passed and she’s been jostled around. For now, all I can do is stabilize her life," Janice replied, glancing at the elves. "Once she wakes, she’ll need to rest quietly—no travel or exertion. And we’ll need special herbs for her recovery."
Romon understood the implication: the elf queen would need to be housed in the castle, effectively keeping the elves’ movements limited.
He hadn’t expected his chief priest Janice to be so astute.
That said, it took some cunning to keep her own church running for so many years under the Nightingale Lord’s isolation—Janice couldn’t have managed it without a shrewd mind.
"What kind of herbs?" the long-haired elf couldn’t help but ask.
"There are quite a few. I’ll write them down for you in a bit. Don’t worry—most are easy to find."
"Th-thank you... Humans, you are kind people." The long-haired elf gave a slightly awkward compliment.
Before long, the elf queen on the floor began to stir, her eyes opening painfully. Excessive blood loss had left her vision blurred.
"Daisy..."
The long-haired elf immediately knelt beside her. "I’m here, Your Majesty."
"Where are we...?"
"We were saved by kind humans. You are safe now, please rest easy."
The elf queen struggled for a moment. Under Janice’s ongoing healing, her vision gradually cleared, and at last she could make out Romon and the others.
"Thank you, human. I am Akalaisi Haierfu—leader, for now, of the last high elves. I must thank you. It is you who have saved the final line of the High Elves." The elf queen tried to sit up, but the pain in her chest and abdomen forced her back down.
Romon raised a hand in reassurance. "No need for thanks. Focus on recovering. You’re strong, and your people are safe. Everything will be all right."
"Th-thank you..."
Even that small movement left the queen’s lips deathly pale from pain. Her beauty was remarkable even among the elves, famed for their looks. Now, in her frail state, she was all the more pitiable. Yet her skin, after Janice’s treatment, was flawless—her wounds healing smoothly, leaving no trace, porcelain-pale and unscarred.
"Nini, prepare a stretcher," Romon ordered. "Once the first stage of healing is done, move her to the guest room."
"Yes, my lord."
"Daisy, listen well to our benefactor’s instructions. I can sense his goodwill toward us," the queen, Akalaisi, told the long-haired elf.
"Yes, Your Majesty," Daisy replied at once.
With that, the queen drifted off to sleep. Her life force was strong, her body resilient, but the wounds had been too severe. If Janice hadn’t been nearby, the elves’ herbal remedies alone would never have saved her.
Seeing the queen asleep, Daisy turned to Romon. "Until the queen gives us new orders, we will obey your commands, human."
"Just call me Romon."
"Romon."
Without showing it, Romon opened the Simulator Blueprint in his mind. Though these sixteen elves now followed his instructions, they still didn’t count toward his [population] tally. frёewebnoѵēl.com
Most likely, it would take the queen’s explicit command before their allegiance truly counted.
For that, Romon knew he would have to rely on Janice—Thune Lord’s finest cleric.
"Talia, refine a few Magic Crystals for Janice," Romon instructed.
——
The treatment continued from early morning until nearly eleven o’clock—Romon’s makeshift sundial indicated the rough time.
Princess Angelia and Lornis, of course, had learned of the elf queen’s arrival.
Lornis expressed no opinion on the matter, nor would he have.
Angelia, on the other hand, felt a sudden surge of rivalry. She was a princess—how could she rest easy now that a queen was living here too?
But the moment she heard that the elf queen was at the very peak of Volleyshot Archer, half a step from Dawnstrider Archer, Angelia’s attitude changed completely.
The strong commanded respect—especially now, when Thune Territory was in dire need of powerful guardians.
Angelia’s mindset shifted; not only did she abandon her rivalry with the elf queen, she, like Romon, began racking her brains to persuade the elves to settle here.
After all, if they were guests in her domain, then the lord outranked the queen, and the princess outranked the lord—meaning the princess would, in a way, outrank the queen.
Janice emerged from the guest room. She had already consumed three standard units of Magic Crystal—hardly surprising, since she’d been healing nonstop since morning, and one person’s mana could only last so long.
Thanks to her care, the elf queen now looked much better, her lips regaining their color.
"My lord, I’ll need paper and ink to write down the herbs required for recovery," Janice said.
Romon had anticipated this; Nini handed her the supplies.
Leaning over the corridor’s railing, Janice quickly jotted down a list.
Most were common herbs—many also found in an adventurer’s standard red potion.
But one item stood out, marked separately.
"Heart of a Flower Demon?" Romon and Daisy gasped in unison.
"Yes, my lord," Janice replied. "It’s the best medicine currently known for heart injuries—a newly discovered herb. Her heart really did suffer damage; only her extraordinary constitution let her survive. But if she’s to make a full recovery, her heart must be completely healed."
On hearing this, Daisy declared at once, "Of course—the queen must be fully healed! I’ll go search for the Heart of Flower Demon right away!"
Janice didn’t stop her, but instead called after Daisy, "The reason I said it’s a newly discovered herb is because it comes from the third floor of the Thune Lord Great Labyrinth. After a team cleared the boss on the second floor, they found this herb on the third. Tests showed it had remarkable healing effects."
"Then I’ll head to the Thune Lord Great Labyrinth!" Daisy declared—but after a few steps, she paused, realizing something. "Um, where exactly is the Thune Lord Great Labyrinth...?"
Romon glanced at Talia, who was already itching to go. "Talia, you go with them. I trust your experience, but make sure it’s safe."
"Yes, my lord!" Talia could barely contain her delight.
Adventuring was her passion, and guarding others was her job. Being allowed by her boss to indulge her passion while on duty—nothing could be better.
As the group left the castle, Romon turned to Janice. "You’ve worked hard all morning. You’re excused from the first half of today’s rituals—after lunch, just head back and rest."
"Yes, my lord."
"When will the elf queen wake?"
"Very soon."
As she spoke, the sound of movement came from the guest room. The two turned and entered, finding the elf queen Akalaisi already sitting at the edge of the bed, preparing to get up.
"You really shouldn’t be moving yet, my lady," Janice cautioned.
"I know. I’m just not used to such a spacious bed—elven beds are much narrower," Akalaisi replied with a small smile. She looked much healthier than before, and her emerald eyes had regained their brightness.
"Your people just went out to gather medicine. You’ll recover soon—there’s no need to worry," Romon reassured her.
Now, with no one else around, it was the perfect time to plant some ideas in the elf queen’s mind. If he could win her over, the rest of the elves would naturally follow.
"Allow me to thank you once again, human. My only worry is that those vile orcs might attack your lands because of us—and if that happened, it would be a terrible sin for us as well."
