King's Rule: Creating the Strongest Kingdom With My Broken Talent-Chapter 13: Battle
Mana was flowing around him like beautiful streams of tiny rivers.
The rivers branched off into different patterns as Vesh exerted his control over them.
There was no consumption of Mana. He was just taking it out and controlling it in various ways.
Despite his mind controlling everything on its own, Vesh’s consciousness kept its focus as he paid attention to every detail and practiced.
[King’s Rule Broken]
Vesh blinked as the Mana around him dispersed.
From below his feet, the ground covering just a 1-meter radius suddenly sprang up like a pillar as Vesh gained high ground to observe carefully.
Minimal Mana glinted in his throat a second later as he opened his mouth.
"Wolves are here!"
His voice was loud and easily reached Arga, Rovina, Kayan, and Viana.
The normal people were sleeping inside with the cavern door closed, so there was no need to worry about them.
Vesh descended as the earth pillar retracted back into the ground.
Wind Sword appeared in his hand.
Arga, Rovina, and Kayan appeared next to him, while Viana remained in the watch tower, readying the ballistas, as she didn’t have any useful combat talent or elemental talent.
’If Mana can act in omni ways while sharing the senses...’ Vesh’s eyes glinted, and he constructed a thin veil of Mana that expanded outward from him like a dome.
It went up to 23 meters before he felt a loss of control over Mana. ’So my control range is 23 meters, which probably depends on Seed Force.’
Kayan was spreading palm-sized X shapes made of blood element on the ground, which was one of his blood techniques called Crimson Trap.
It was night, so Rovina also had much leverage of her Darkness element. She also began putting traps.
Arga used his fire element to construct a sword for himself, as he didn’t have a physical one.
Vesh snapped his finger, and a golden-brown crust began forming over his body and the others’ bodies simultaneously.
"This... an Earth Armor?" Rovina blinked. "Quite nice. With your high Seed Force, this will prove to be the best general defense for us."
"Awoooo!!"
At once, the pack of wolves assaulted them without any hesitation as they emerged from the darkness of the woods, fifty meters away.
The alpha was at the very back, standing head and shoulders above the rest.
The group stayed still.
The weaker nineteen D-rank wolves, who had Seed Force from 500 to 1000, were at the forefront.
Eleven of them died quickly after setting off the traps placed by Rovina and Kayan. They could only set eleven traps altogether so far.
Two daggers made of blood manifested in Kayan’s hand,s and his eyes began turning crimson.
"I’m going into the fray first."
Kayan jumped high up, and four sharp and fast blood streams shot out, piercing four wolves.
He landed between the four wolves he pierced, his daggers blurring as they began slashing into them.
Arga also didn’t wait and went toward the two General Wolves who had a Seed Force of 2000 to 3000.
His flaming sword brightly ignited with more flames as he began spinning and releasing flames around him.
In a few seconds, his spinning speed was fast, and no wolf could get near.
But one of the General Wolves suddenly opened its mouth as a black-purple orb condensed and shot at Arga.
Vesh tapped his feet on the ground.
When the orb was just two meters away from Arga, a rectangular wall of earth rose from the ground and blocked it.
Boom.
The earth wall was blasted, but the orb was also destroyed.
Rovina focused on restraining multiple wolves at once, giving the party time to kill them quickly.
Above, Viana was hurling long and strong bolts from the ballistas. She knew they wouldn’t penetrate the generals and alpha, so she focused on the soldier wolves who had weaker physical parameters.
Vesh was observing carefully, just like the Alpha Wolf was observing, but he wasn’t wasting time.
Five cone-shaped Earth Shards emerged from the ground and floated next to him.
’Establish flow and spin.’
The shards began spinning like drills as Vesh’s eyes glinted with control.
Swoosh!
All five shards flew toward the wolves restrained by Rovina.
Three General Wolves who were on the verge of escape, and two soldier wolves, were all pierced neatly as their bodies split apart.
On the other side, Kayan moved between the frays of more wolves.
His Earth Armor was already destroyed from the multitude of attacks he received as he fought without caring for his defense.
"Boy, be careful," Arga shouted, seeing Kayan’s reckless way of fighting.
Kayan’s Earth Armor completely collapsed as a sharp claw glinting with dark magic struck his back, tearing away his flesh.
Kayan roared, his eyes gleaming a brighter hue of crimson as he turned around and drove his dagger into the throat and head of the wolf that had just attacked him.
Blood around him glinted sharply before rushing toward him.
Bloodthirsty Drive!
"He’s fine. But he needs to change his style." Vesh frowned.
Kayan had two talents, but both were powerful.
Blood Mastery was at A-rank, though not at its full potential.
The other talent was Bloodthirsty Drive | B-rank: Upon activating, it draws in the surrounding blood to temporarily increase physical parameters depending on the amount and quality of blood, and also heals injuries and removes harmful external effects.
The Alpha Wolf’s eyes glinted crimson, locking onto Kayan as it recognized him as a prime threat.
Vesh was observing everything, but the Alpha Wolf suddenly vanished.
’Where is it?!’ Vesh’s Mana Veil, as he termed it, was able to detect all movements, especially magical trails, quite finely.
But the wolf’s trail had completely disappeared.
However, he felt its aura again at another place after two seconds, right next to Kayan.
Its large claw stretched, swiping at Kayan, but its eyes looked at Vesh as if wanting to watch the despair in his eyes at seeing the death of his summon.
’He looks calm.’ A rough and calm voice rang in the wolf’s head.
Vesh was indeed calm.
Because before the Alpha Wolf’s claw could get near, a drilling earth spike burst out of the ground.
SHRRRRR!
The Alpha Wolf was dragged upward while its body tried its best to defend against the insane spinning penetration of the earth shard.
But after 1.4 seconds of endurance, the drill pierced it cleanly as it howled in pain.
’What? This Alpha Wolf has 5000 Seed Force, while he has less than half of it! How can his attack penetrate it so easily?’ The voice inside the wolf’s head sounded startled.
Vesh grinned.
Well, that was the power of technicality.
The trick was in the spin and the Mana reinforcement he did to the Earth Shard.
The faster it spun, the more penetration it brought to his attack.
And with his current control, he had literally created a Mana imprint of spin, consisting of a flawless array that could spin projectiles at over two thousand rotations per second.
’If I can create a type of cone formation that bolsters its speed by using air pressure and generating wind, it would become even more lethal.’
Vesh’s eyes glinted with excitement. ’I have to increase my control even more for that.’
’Let’s wrap this up and get back to training.’
The Alpha Wolf was dead because Kayan jumped on it and shredded it apart with two big blood scythes.
"Bastard!" Kayan spat as he landed, with pieces of the Alpha Wolf falling behind him.
The rest of the wolves were also wrapped up by Arga and Rovina, who had good coordination together.
Rovina blinded the wolves, ensnared them, and gathered them together in one place while Arga blasted them with a hellish spinning fiery sword.
[Congratulations. Main Quest Completed. Reward has been sent to your Inventory.]
Vesh stored all thirty bodies and their pieces into his Inventory. Their hides would be very useful for making clothes and armor for his people.
But fifteen kilometres to the south, there was another territory, one filled with roughly a hundred D-rank monsters, most of them having less than 1000 Seed Force.
The lord of this place was a middle-aged man. A solo like Vesh, so he also had three summons.
His territory was in a large grove, and he had a treehouse to himself.
Getting out of his house, he looked in the direction of Vesh’s territory.
"I failed the first attempt. I had hoped to at least take out one of his summons."
Rubbing his clean chin, he looked behind at his beast-men.
"He also has more people with him, while I have none."
A muscular centaur with a thick beard came running toward him and bowed.
"Lord Harven, I found a rather strange tree bearing a glowing fruit."
"Oh?"
"However, it is protected by some powerful D-rank monsters."
Harven nodded. "We also need people, but if that kid can bring more people somehow, I can eliminate him and take his people."
Muttering, he nodded again.
"I’ll let him grow for now and focus on building my army with my S-rank Beast Tamer talent. That’s the best course of action."
"My lord, you will surely win as you can gather all the powerful monsters with your talent." The Centaur said with confidence.
