Chapter 49: Vesh’s Statement, Source Found

It was clear that despite his arsenal of powers, these twelve Stem-rank powerhouses working together had the capability to kill him.

So the solution was simple. If he wanted to survive the next moment, he would have to repel everything and everyone around him far away before replacing the battery and flying up to prepare.

Wind Buster.

Vesh emptied the entirety of his A-rank battery. That was an insane amount of power. Definitely more energy than five Stem-rank powerhouses combined.

So in an instant, a rapidly compressed orb of wind surrounded Vesh in dual layers. Between the layers, the wind raged in fury as it was compressed, and then Vesh simply released it.

The darkness that surrounded Vesh blew away instantly with a blast.

Meanwhile, as the compressed wind raged forward in all directions, everything that touched it felt an insane amount of force, like a mountain slamming into them, and was blown away.

The ship turned into dust instantly.

All twelve Stem-rank powerhouses and the Root-rank powerhouses were flung several kilometers away in all directions, while some went directly into the water since the ship was destroyed instantly.

’World Map!’

Replacing the battery, Vesh quickly used World Map to find Harven.

Harven was a Sprout-rank like him. He was the only Sprout-rank in this group, so his World Map could find him by applying a will-filter for a Sprout-rank human.

"Huh?"

Vesh’s eyebrows creased.

There was no Sprout-rank human anywhere within 100 kilometers, and his Wind Buster definitely didn’t blow him past that distance.

Vesh quickly checked Stem-rank humans, and his eyes widened.

Out of twelve, only four remained. And they were rapidly escaping in different directions.

Vesh moved, unleashing his best technique to cross the distance fast as lightning surged through his body, and he vanished with a flicker of light.

Meanwhile, Harven appeared thousands of kilometers away in the Talzon Kingdom with eight Shadow Guards.

"Tsk, what the fuck was that? Nobody has managed to escape our sure-kill formation, and no one can. At least, no Stem-rank can do that."

"Even our King can’t survive..."

"Is he more powerful than our King?"

"The wind had a giant, blunt-force wave with heavy impact. No matter what kind of barrier we put up, we were bound to get blown away."

"Unless we had an anchored defense to stop it, but there was an ocean below. If it were ground, I could have blocked it."

The Shadow Guards were speaking, and Harven was silent, his heart beating wildly.

Death.

He was mere inches away from it. If not for the artifact that could transport a group onto a designated shadow, he would have died.

And the shock he was feeling was another thing.

’That bastard... No way, right?’

He had seen Vesh’s face after he gave him a healing drop, which caused Vesh’s disfigured face to become clean.

’That’s the same bastard... he became this strong in such a short time?!’

’If I have a beast army, then what does he have? Technology boost? Innovation talent? What kind of magical talent does he have? Surely, it’s S-rank or higher.’

King Talzon arrived in the garden where the Shadow Agents were discussing and waiting.

He was informed by the group that they had returned using the artifact, surprising him.

"What made you retreat like that? Was a Bloom-rank monster that powerful?"

The senior Shadow Guard shook his head and said, "We encountered that Shadow Lord Eka. He had disguised himself as an injured Sprout-rank, initially detected by Harven’s beasts before he pulled him up."

"He is no Shadow Lord!" Harven clenched his jaw as he hissed. "He’s the king of Ananta. He had a shoddy territory over a week ago!"

King Talzon blinked. "What?"

"He is like me. He is not an heir of a powerful kingdom from the mainland, as you said, who was here for conquest. He is someone from Earth who arrived here recently, like me."

Harven narrowed his eyes. "And he is fucking strong. How will we deal with him?"

King Talzon rubbed his chin. "For now, continue with our main objective. Go to the northeast ocean and find a Bloom-rank monster there. If we want a certain victory, we need a Bloom-rank monster."

Harven thought of something and said, "You keep saying the mainland is far vaster and more dangerous, filled with many strong kingdoms. What if we make a long trip there and come back with backing?"

"That..." King Talzon frowned. "The idea isn’t bad, but how would you gain backing? We don’t have many days left. The trip alone will take five days by an airship, unless we burn our B-rank mana stone stock to fly faster."

"Won’t my talent get solid recognition there?" Harven’s eyes glinted. "In exchange for a kingdom’s backing, I can give them the service of creating or taming a certain number of beasts they’d like."

"And here I thought you had something else." The senior Shadow Guard rolled his eyes behind his mask. "There are many ways to tame, subdue, or dominate a monster. Your talent is indeed powerful, but giving a kingdom some tamed monsters isn’t enough to get their backing."

King Talzon nodded. "The matter of fact is that there’s nothing in this sideland that is tempting to the kingdoms on the mainland. The quality of air, ground, and magical phenomena there far outclasses all five sidelands. That is why all kingdoms here desire to establish their force there."

"And this warfare event is that chance. The one to unify this sideland will have enough power to establish a kingdom there."

...

Vesh caught two people and unmasked them.

One was a hot woman in her late twenties, and the other was a bearded man with a bald head in his forties.

Bound by sizzling crimson-blue ropes, both of them were imprisoned on a metallic platform high up in the sky.

Standing in front of them, Vesh had his arms crossed as he examined them.

"Your lives are in my hands now. What’s your next step?" Vesh asked, his voice calm and curious.

"Isn’t that on you?" the woman flatly spoke. "Kill us, and we are dead. Release us, and we’ll escape."

Vesh rubbed his chin. "I don’t have many Stem-rank subordinates. Not going to switch sides?"

"Hahaha, that’s naive." The bald man laughed. "Surely, you’re not naive enough to trust us?"

Vesh smiled. "I will put a bomb inside your body, and I have a way to test loyalty. The moment your loyalty falters below 100%, even to 99%, the bomb will trigger and kill you. As in, it will instantly fry your brain with a burst of potent electricity rushing there."

"..."

"..."

"So, what’s your decision? Do you want to live and discover an unknown future full of wonders, or die?" Vesh asked as his face turned somber.

"Of course, I want to live," the woman said as she bit her lips.

The bald man silently nodded.

"Then go back to your Talzon Kingdom," Vesh grinned. "I have put a tracker and a camera on both of you. Go join your former comrades and live as if you were living before." 𝒻𝑟ℯℯ𝑤𝑒𝑏𝑛𝘰𝓋𝑒𝓁.𝒸𝑜𝘮

Both Shadow Guards were startled.

He wanted to use them as spies in the kingdom they had served for years.

"Wait, did you already put a bomb in us? But then I should have exploded..." the bald man frowned.

"I didn’t. I was just kidding about the bomb." Vesh shook his head. "I can make it, though, but if I put it now, you’ll both explode. If you want to be part of the Ananta Kingdom, then you have to make your loyalty 100% first. Being spies is your chance to do that."

The woman’s brows furrowed, confused. "That doesn’t make sense. Why would you take this risk of sending us back?"

"You..." The bald man’s right eye twitched. "You don’t consider us any kind of threat, do you? You consider nothing as a threat."

Vesh scratched his head. "I mean, I have plans and capabilities to unify this sideland. I assure you, no amount of Stem-rank or Bloom-rank powerhouses can stop me from that. Now then, off you go. Everything in this sideland will be part of the Ananta Kingdom after the event starts."

Grinning, he added, "In short, it doesn’t matter whether you stay loyal to Talzon or decide to become Ananta Kingdom’s spies. The final result is the same."

"..."

"..."

"O-On what basis is your confidence coming from?" the bald man hesitantly asked.

"You want to know?" Vesh squinted his eyes as he smiled. "Sure. Make sure you tell it to Talzon’s King."

"On the day the event starts, there will be an army of Bloom-rank and Stem-rank alike, numbering not in thousands, but hundreds of thousands, that will sweep through this entire sideland. Ananta Kingdom’s force will be so overwhelming that every single kingdom, and every single lunatic, will be suppressed by the mere presence of our army and will surrender."

Both Shadow Guards involuntarily shivered.

They were Stem-rank. People who could move mountains easily. And they had the capability to see if someone was lying or not. It wasn’t that hard.

So, according to them, either this person really had such capabilities, or he had the delusion that he had such capabilities and believed in that delusion.

...

After sending both of those captives away with nano cameras integrated in the middle of their foreheads and eyes, Vesh went back to the prized location he had found.

The location that was the source of confidence in the boast he had made to those two shadow guards.

Vesh arrived almost 780 kilometers deep before he saw the S-rank energy that was detected on his World Map.

It was inside a cavern deep in the ocean.

Entering inside, Vesh arrived at the source of that S-rank energy.

In the middle of this cavern was a small glowing pond.

And on his World Map, he could see that the pond had a depth that was utterly vast.

And that entire depth was filled with S-rank energy.

S-rank energy for him to refine and use!
