Chapter 374: His Genuine Feelings

Finally, the long awaited official meeting-up of the in-laws had arrived. Harry’s family were the ones who organized it in a private restaurant, and Berry, as well as the twins, were pretty excited for it. On the opposite side of the spectrum, however, her parents looked uneasy at the prospect of meeting their new in-laws.

“We’re here!”

Berry was giddy as she announced their arrival. Getting out of the car, she noticed how weary her parents looked, so she said, “Don’t be nervous. You two look great, Mom and Dad. Like I said, Harry’s family is really nice.”

“You’ve already said that several times, Sis,” Mickey commented. “You know our parents aren’t confident because of the status difference between our families. Theirs is much higher than ours.”

“So what? That doesn’t mean we’re anything less compared to them,” Berry chuckled. “We might not be as rich as them, but Mom and Dad nurtured us. They gave us everything they had so we that we could have a good future.”

“Wha-”

Before her parents could protest anything, Berry held both of their arms together, placing herself in the middle of the two as she declared, “So let’s go inside now with our head held up high, shall we?”

Surrendering to their daughter’s positive energy, both her father and mother could only nod and smile as Berry pulled them into the house. Once inside, they quickly noticed that Harry already had his family waiting inside, and he immediately introduced his family to hers.

“This is my father, Senior Marius Cha,” Harry introduced. “And this is my brother, Daryl, and his wife, Kenzie.”

Berry nodded in acknowledgment with her sweetest smile.

She then also introduced her parents and her brother to the rest. After which, some pleasantries were exchanged, before finally, everyone took their seats and waited for dinner to be served by the waiters.

“I’m really happy to see my son finally settling down like his brother,” Senior Cha commented with a genuine smile. “And here I thought Harry’s gonna grow up without a wife.”

“I’ll assist you with the wedding preparations, Berry,” Kenzie commented. “That is if that’s okay with you?”

“Of course, it’s okay, Kenzie,” Berry gratefully smiled at the offered help. “And thank you for helping me out...”

The dinner went by rather well, and they soon filtered out onto the living room to enjoy some more drinks over pleasant conversations. As the gathering continued, Berry found herself appreciating how warm and genuine Harry’s family was being towards her. So much so that her even own family eventually became comfortable with having conversations with them.

“Hey,” Berry whispered to Harry at some point during the conversation. “Can you show me around?”

Hearing her request, Harry nodded as he then took the open opportunity to interrupt and excused themselves to the rest of the gathering.

“Going somewhere?” his father asked as he took note of the couple standing up.

“I’ll just be showing her around, Father,” Harry informed.

“I see,” his father nodded. “Go ahead, Son.”

Seeing the given approval, Berry excitedly stood up and was the one to even pull at Harry as they moved around the house.

“Where’s your room?” Berry naughtily asked. She simply couldn’t help herself from feeling naughty. It was one of her wild fantasies to have a quickie with her fiance inside his own room during in-law meetups like this. The thrill of it was simply intoxicating to even think about.

Seeing that familiar look from Berry, Harry gulped at what he knew she was thinking. And of course, upon seeing his reaction, she smiled. She just loved seeing how he was affected by her naughty look alone.

“In here,” Harry directed as soon as he regained his composure. He didn’t waste any time as he led her to the hallway upstairs leading to his own room.

As soon as they reached their destination, Berry gasped out, “Wow!”

Looking around the spacious room, Berry could only gape her jaw in wonder as she looked at all the amenities. It was simply so grand and complete that she almost forgot her true goal of pulling her future husband in there. Instead of enacting her plans, she ended up roaming around, checking out everything there was inside the room. 𝐟𝐫𝗲𝙚ｗ𝚎𝐛𝙣𝐨𝙫𝘦𝗹.c૦m

“Huh... You look like you prioritize your privacy way too much,” Berry jokingly teased. “You almost have a mini house here inside your room.”

Harry scratched the back of his head at her words. With a timid smile, he defended, “I’m the introvert type, Berry. I usually prefer just staying here in my room during my free time.”

Seeing Harry sit on his couch, Berry approached him as she asked, “Hmm... Will you be okay leaving everything in this country behind just so you can stay with me in country B?”

As if to answer her question, Harry pulled Berry in to sit her on his lap. He then lovingly hugged her, resting his head on her chest as he reassured her. “Don’t worry about me, Berry. We already have a branch at country B, so I can just transfer there instead and handle the Cha Group subsidiary located there.”

Berry blinked at the convenient solution she just heard. She almost forgot that Harry was the CEO of the Cha Group, so it probably wans’t even that hard for him to make his transfer possible.

“Does Father Marcus know about this?” Berry asked. “And Daryl, even?”

She was curious. She knew enough about Harry’s past now, and he was grateful that her man had a very supportive and generous family who gave him another chance despite everything that they’ve been through. It was the reason why Harry was working hard for the family in the first place. It was all in an effort to make up for his mother’s evil actions despite not being told to do anything about it in the first place.

“It’s alright with them,” Harry reassured her. “Honestly, it was Daryl who encouraged me to stay with you. He said that I shouldn’t let work matters separate or put distance between us. I always just adjust to the situation, and he proposed that I take over the subsidiary company we have in country B.” He smiled, “I’ll just have visit Father every once in a while, or they could also come and visit us at their leisure. After all, Kenzie is good friends with Kimmy.”

Berry nodded and murmured, “Yeah, right. I almost forgot that a Princess works in this family as a bodyguard.” She chuckled at the memory, “And wow... It was even a Princess that happened to chase you around as well! I’m so lucky I guess that it didn’t work out between you two! Thank goodness that you’re serious about shutting yourself out at the time with all the atoning and guilt stuff!” She then let out a teasing sigh, “Or else... We probably wouldn’t be where we are now.”

Hearing her thinly veiled insecurities, Harry chuckled, hugging Berry even more as he muttered, “This was bound to happen, Berry. And looking back, I have no regrets at all.” He smiled, “I’m just grateful to be given another chance to be this happy.”

Saying his piece, Harry tilted his head to look at Berry straight in the eyes. With a burning passion, he added, “Thank you so much, Berry. Thank you for coming into my life.”

“I love you, Harry,” Berry lovingly replied, her lips curing upwards as she cupped her fiance’s face with her hands. “I love you so much, and I’m so glad that our paths crossed the way it did.”

Her chest vibrated with energy as Berry felt her heart hammering within her. It was the first time she confessed how she felt for Harry, and she didn’t mind that she was the first one to say it between the two of them. She didn’t even wait for his answer anymore as she leaned in for a kiss. Having him marry her was more than enough for her now. She didn’t need his words. His actions alone were good enough for her to feel his genuine feelings for her. They were about to get married, and they now had a lifetime between them to take care and love each other.
