Koko wa Ore ni Makasete Saki ni Ike to Itte kara 10 Nen ga Tattara Densetsu ni Natteita-Chapter 236 - The Dragon Family
The Dragon Family
And so it was settled. Serulis and Shia would accompany us.
However, Kathe brought her face close to mine.
“Hmm. Hmm.”
“What? Your face is so close.”
“So, Locke. You didn’t know about the saying of how we throw cute children into the tiger’s hole.”
“Apparently, it’s a dragon thing. I hadn’t known about it.”
“Hehe.”
She looked very smug for some reason.
Dorgo came up behind her and bonked her on the head.
Though, it didn’t look like it would hurt.
“That’s quite enough. Don’t get carried away.”
“…I know.”
“Mister Locke. I’m so sorry that my daughter is so stupid.”
“Oh, it’s nothing.”
But Kathe didn’t seem to care that Dorgo was angry. And she quickly moved her attention over to the teleportation circle.
“It’s quite big, but still much too small for me to fit in.”
“Indeed. And we don’t know the size of the building on the other side either.”
But then again, so many vampires had flooded out from it. They would hardly have come from a small room.
Still, I was not sure it was big enough for the wind dragon ruler.
“Perhaps I should enter my human form.”
“Kathe. You will stay at the mansion.”
“But, dad! I’m very strong!”
“And I am still stronger. You stay here and be quiet.”
“I want to go. You’re the one who should stay here.”
“No…”
“Yes. Yes, you should!”
The two talked for a while after that. Then they finally turned towards me at the same time.
“We have decided to let you pick, Locke.”
“Mister Locke. I leave the decision to you.”
“I see…”
Both of them were strong in battle.
However, when considering experience and good judgment, Dorgo was superior.
And so I made my decision.
“Mister Dorgo. Would it be alright if you stayed here?”
“Hehehehe! Good for you, Locke! That is the right decision!”
“…May I ask you the reason?”
“It’s because you are more capable of handling unexpected situations.”
As I would be going through the teleportation circle, the others could follow my lead.
However, people who were left here would have to decide for themselves.
Considering that it was very possible, I would rather have Dorgo here than Kathe.
“I see. That is understandable.”
It seemed that Dorgo understood my intentions.
“You are very smart, Locke. Now, I will go and turn human!”
Kathe didn’t seem to understand that it didn’t put her in the best light. But it was better that way.
She now ran off in order to transform.
A little while ago, she would do it when there were other people present.
But Serulis and Luchila had scolded her.
She was starting to understand human culture.
Dorgo watched her leave and then said,
“Please take care of my daughter.”
“Yes. But she is really strong. So I’ll probably be the one that is protected.”
“As her father, it makes me very happy to hear you say that, Mister Locke.”
As we talked, Kathe returned to us in human form.
“Sorry to keep you waiting.”
“That was fast.”
“Transforming and getting changed is easy!”
After looking at her, I could see what she meant.
It was similar to a poncho.
“He-hey! Kathe!”
“What is it, Serulis?”
Serulis looked a little frantic as she pulled Kathe away.
“That’s not something to wear to battle…”
“Refi might disagree.”
Goran and Eric muttered.
As Kathe was not wearing anything under it, it would hardly be decent.
“I’m so sorry. My daughter is so stupid.”
“Well, we have different cultures.”
I chuckled to the mortified Dorgo.
Then Serulis and Kathe returned. This time, she was wearing normal clothes.
It looked like what Serulis was wearing but in a different color.
“It’s fine now. Sorry to keep you waiting.”
“Are you wearing Serulis’s clothes?”
“Yes!”
“You’re very prepared.”
“I have lots of clothes in my magic bag.”
That was the daughter of Morton for you. She was an F-Rank Adventurer but had an expensive magic bag.
“It suits you, Kathe.”
“Do you think so? Hmm. It feels a little small to me.”
Kathe said as she tried stretching it.
“I don’t think so. Besides, it will be easier to move around in.”
“I see. Thank you, Serulis.”
Kathe seemed satisfied.
“So, it will be me, Kathe, Goran and Eric who will go. Oh, and Shia and Serulis.”
“Groof!”
“You want to go too?”
“Groof-groof!”
“Alright, you can come.”
And so it was settled.
