Lackey's Seducing Survival Odyssey-Chapter 656 New Mission... Again? But Unique?
Unlike the other missions he had received, Liora's mission was a peculiar one... Liora's mission wasn't about saving her—it was solely about seducing her, and that was where things began to change drastically.
After Liora's mission, Aether's life and Aria's were almost killed by Alaric, and they were both thrown out of the Empire... It was only Liora who saved them in the nick of time, almost putting herself in danger in the process.
And yet, Aether never once received that same kind of mission, even though he had died one time.... for that, He believed the reason lay in the activation of his Bloodline ability, which had only triggered at that specific moment, not before... He believed something similar that's all!
Now, the same mission had appeared again, which meant one thing: his life was in danger once more in a way his bloodline ability was not used.
But who was going to be his threat this time?
Alaric?
Aether was confident he could handle him—if not kill him.
Then who else could be stronger than Alaric?
Sovereign? Was it Isadora?
No... Aether knew that wasn't the case. She wouldn't do that!!
So then, who else?
"Aether?" Selene's voice broke through his thoughts, her expression filled with concern and fear.
Aether snapped out of his reverie, shaking his head slightly to clear his mind. "It's fine..." he muttered, trying to brush off the heaviness of his thoughts.
Selene, however, wasn't about to let this go. "W-What do you mean by that, Aether? You... will die?" Her voice trembled, and her body shook with fear. She could feel his inner turmoil without even needing to ask.
Aether clicked his tongue inwardly, regretting that he had spoken out loud. He pulled her into a comforting hug, gently patting her back. "Don't worry... I'll figure it out. Everything will be fine, okay?" He tried to reassure her.
Selene clung to him, her fingers tightly gripping his clothes. Her body trembled slightly as she whispered, "... O-Okay," though the uncertainty in her voice was palpable.
After calming her down, Aether looked at her with a soft smile. "Do you want to see what's going on outside?" he asked, his voice gentle.
Selene shook her head, her eyes heavy with exhaustion. "I just want to lie down for a moment..." she said softly, her voice barely above a whisper as she sank back onto the bed.
Aether smiled down at her lovingly, pressing a gentle kiss to her forehead before standing up, his face now serious. "Alright, I'll be back soon."
As soon as he left, Selene's expression shifted. Her face grew serious and grim, her eyes narrowing as she sat up and began biting her nails in anxiety.
"Hisss..." Snowflake emerged from her small cleavage, poking its head out and licking Selene's face as though trying to comfort her.
Selene chuckled lightly at the gesture before sighing, her fingers brushing over her lips as she mumbled, "Looks like your master really wants to deal with everything alone, even though he has so many bitches at his disposal... sigh... He really does love us all..." She spoke softly, her expression a mix of affection and resignation.
She raised her left hand before her, a faint, bluish-black glow flickering across her skin...
Sssssshhhhhh
Snowflake's golden slit eyes widened as it watched the dark, bluish-black book that materialized in Selene's hands. The book flipped open on its own, its pages turning rapidly as a brilliant, bright blue light flooded the room, blinding everything in its wake...
Meanwhile,
Aether stood calmly at the doorway, watching the situation unfold outside. He saw many high-ranking officials gathered, all bowing their heads in reverence to the remains of Mortimer.
'Hmm... Maybe I should have exposed that old bastard?' Aether thought for a brief moment, his gaze flicking over the crowd who worshipped him as though he were some sort of hero.... Well, he was!
Aether shrugged it off... Old man, indeed, had saved millions of lives—whether that had been selfish or not didn't matter to him.
What mattered now was the current mission.... He turned his attention to the Empress, who was engaged in a conversation with Velc and Xara.
Aqualina, meanwhile, was practically ignoring Kai's incessant nagging as she searched for something... or someone.
Aqualina had already tried to contact him through telepathy, but Aether had deliberately not answered. He wanted to see the fear in her eyes, even if just for a few seconds. She deserved it after what she had done to him.... He really had hard time dealing with Empress you know!!
Aether moved slightly back, finding a vantage point as he observed. People were standing in line, waiting to pay their respects to the Saviour's final moments.
'Man... You really did something good...' Aether mumbled to himself, his voice tinged with both sarcasm and appreciation.
Meanwhile, the Empress spoke, her voice filled with disbelief,
"You mean, the curse took over his body, and this is all that remains of him?"
Velc nodded, his face full of sorrow as he recounted everything that had led to his father's death.
'Interesting...' The Empress thought inwardly, her lips curling into a sly grin, 'Just what did Aether do... I should ask him next time' She glanced over at Xara, her expression shifting to one of mild amusement. "I thought you were dead," she said, her voice carrying an amused tone.
Xara's lips twitched with slight annoyance. "That's not a nice way to speak to someone, Empress. I came here to see my father-in-law's final moments, as his respected daughter-in-law," she replied, though there was a clear undertone of irritation in her voice. The Empress simply grinned in response, and a playful spark ignited between them.
Velc gulped, looking nervously between his wife and the Empress. He couldn't believe his wife—Xara—was the only one brave enough to speak directly to the Empress without a hint of fear.
"Anyway, about your son..." The Empress's expression turned stern, causing Velc to flinch in fear. Before she could say anything further, he quickly blurted out,
"I'm sorry, Empress, but please, give us one more chance... My son will surely leave that slu--um... that commoner. I'll take care of it, I promise! Just give me a few days... Please, I-I've just lost my father, and now this... It's all too much. Can't you just do this for me? Not for me, or for Kai... but for my father, who saved millions of lives?"
The Empress stared at Velc blankly, her gaze cold and calculating. She knew that once Aether was under her full control, it wouldn't matter much what Velc or anyone else said. The old man's death had cleared the path, and soon, Aether's ownership would be hers.
Yeap, she would later talk about transferring ownership to her daughter... first she need get it on her hand!
Xara's lips twitched violently she would latter beat this shitty man for betraying the enagement she initially ahd with her friend!

Jus then,
"Velc? Sister?" Delphine hurried over, her face streaked with tears. Velc's face fell, and he seemed ready to collapse in despair, but before he could do so, Xara stepped in. She pushed him aside roughtly and wrapped her arms around Delphine, comforting her.
"I am here... Del..." Xara mumbled as if she was like daughter to her.
Velc's lips twitched, his frustration palpable... He wanted to show the world how much he cared for his family... just like his father!
Meanwhile, the Empress raised an eyebrow in surprise as she noticed.... Alaric's presence. She had not expected him to be involved in these affairs.
She nodded at him, her voice laced with mild amusement. "I never thought you'd get involved in our matters, Alaric."
With a stern face, Alaric replied, "I came in place of the Principal. She's tied up with an important task, so she sent me instead." He placed a bouquet on the ice block, his tone curt but respectful.... He was slightly worried that Aether complained anything to her.
'He is not a man if complaint to her!' Alaric thought to himself.
The Empress simply shrugged, not particularly interested in the politics of the moment.

She glanced around, observing as the high-ranking officials slowly filed in to pay their respects to Mortimer's remains.
But just as everything seemed to settle, when,
"The Prophetess is here!!"
Everyone turned in surprise, their gazes shifting toward the entrance as a beautiful woman with long white hair entered the room. She was dressed in a flowing white robe, walking with a steady, graceful pace, her eyes closed in deep concentration.
"Prophetess..." Aether mumbled under his breath seeing another beau-
"Nope, not her!"
Suddenly a voice interrupted, Aether calmly turned to his side and saw.... Aqualina standing beside him with a cheeky smile and a slight pout on her lips.
"Behind her..." Aqualina pointed towards the stunning woman who had just entered.
Aether raised an eyebrow, confused. "Hmm? I don't see any—" His words halted when the beautiful woman stepped aside, revealing another figure behind her.
!~Ding~!
[Unique Mission: Seduce The Prophetess]
Aether's face turned ashen, his heart sinking in pure horror!!!
He saw...
A frail lumped figure—someone barely able to stand, supported by a walking stick.
