Landing on Her Heart: Mr. Warner, Let's Get Back Together!-Chapter 179: Luna Is Annelise Winter’s Child
"Yes, Madam!"
Uncle Zeller squeezed through the crowd and left through the back door.
He went to find Sylvia Lowell, but she wasn’t at the agreed location, so he called her.
"Miss Lowell, where are you? Madam asked you to wait in the outer hall first. Why aren’t you there?"
"It was too crowded, I got pushed out. I’m heading over now!" Sylvia Lowell was excited.
Very soon, she would officially become Elias Warner’s fiancée at the annual gala.
After all, previously the news of their engagement was only leaked. Now it could rival an engagement party, maybe even more lively.
All the media in Kybourne were present here.
Sylvia Lowell hung up the phone and headed towards the gala site.
But she was stopped at the door.
"Miss, the Kybourne South Air annual gala is being held here. Unauthorized personnel are not allowed to enter, please leave!" 𝕗𝚛𝚎𝚎𝐰𝗲𝗯𝗻𝚘𝚟𝚎𝗹.𝕔𝐨𝕞
The security guards stopped Sylvia Lowell outside the door.
"Me? You actually say I’m unauthorized? You must be blind, let me in immediately, or if you delay my matters, you won’t even be able to pay up if I sold you all!"
Sylvia Lowell was furious. Once she truly becomes the mistress of Kybourne South Air, she would make these two guards regret it.
"Do you have an invitation? If not, you cannot enter. This is an internal annual gala, and besides internal employees, only journalists from major media are invited."
The security guard frowned, looking Sylvia Lowell up and down.
They had just received orders from above that starting from the gala, no entry without an invitation is allowed.
No matter how convincingly someone speaks, even if it’s Mrs. Warner herself, without an invitation, entry is denied.
"Invitation?"
How could Sylvia Lowell have an invitation? She came with Renee Perry.
Renee Perry never mentioned anything about an invitation to her.
So, there was no such invitation.
"If you don’t have an invitation, please leave!"
The security guard gestured for Sylvia Lowell to leave.
"You just wait, I’m making a call!"
Sylvia Lowell was furious and immediately called Renee Perry.
"Ms. Perry, the two security guards at the door say I don’t have an invitation, so they won’t let me in!"
"Don’t worry, give the phone to them, let them listen!"
Renee Perry instructed.
Sylvia Lowell put on speakerphone for the two security guards, "I was invited by Mrs. Warner, she wants you to take the call now!"
The two security guards looked at each other, "Sorry, miss, we’re just following orders from our boss, please don’t make it difficult for us!"
Renee Perry heard it clearly on the phone and immediately called the security department.
The security department didn’t pick up the phone.
This made Renee Perry stomp her feet in anger.
"Madam, should I go directly to their manager?" Uncle Zeller asked.
She glanced angrily at Elias Warner, who was giving a speech. She had a hunch this was all related to him.
She never expected that as soon as she announced Elias would take over the Warner family business, people would start disobeying her.
She stepped back in shock, "Uncle Zeller, I’m starting to regret, I don’t know if letting Elias take over Warner Group was right or wrong."
"Madam, your decision was well thought out, it can’t be wrong!"
Uncle Zeller reassured her.
Renee Perry composed herself, but she still felt something was about to happen.
During a break in the annual gala,
Renee Perry took Elias Warner to the lounge.
"Elias, Sylvia is currently blocked by security outside, can you speak to them and let her in?"
"This is a Warner Group annual gala, why let outsiders in?"
Elias Warner feigned ignorance.
"Elias, are you pretending not to know? I already promised the Lowell Family I would announce the Warner-Lowell union at the gala."
"I will not agree to this!" Elias Warner said without hesitation.
"What? You’re saying you don’t agree? I’ve already made an agreement with the Lowell Family, you want us to break it?"
Renee Perry clutched her chest in anger.
"That’s your business, it has nothing to do with me!"
"Elias, how can you speak to me like this? What if I insist on announcing the union today?"
Renee Perry shouted.
"If you insist on announcing the Warner-Lowell union today, then I will announce the cancellation of the engagement tomorrow. This will cause Warner’s reputation and stock prices to plummet!"
Elias Warner remained calm and composed.
But Renee Perry was so angry she staggered back a few steps.
"What are you planning? Are you considering switching to Annelise Winter? Don’t even think about it!"
"Ha, Mom, do you think there’s still a possibility between Annelise and me? Haven’t you meddled enough? Now Annelise and I have nothing to do with each other, and I have no plans to marry anyone right now!"
Elias Warner scoffed.
"You better keep it that way, or the same way I lifted you to this position, I can bring you down from it!"
Renee Perry scoffed coldly and left the lounge.
Elias Warner watched her leave, his eyes filled with complex emotions.
He stood there for a long time.
"Ouch!"
Renee Perry screamed as she tripped over a child and fell face-first to the ground.
As she looked up, she saw a little girl sticking her tongue out at her.
"Whose child is this? How is there a child at the gala?"
Renee Perry frowned, looking around, and didn’t see any adults following.
"Hmph, you old witch, you’re not allowed to bully my dad!"
Luna pointed at Renee Perry.
Elias Warner heard Luna’s voice and looked towards the door, just happening to see this scene.
He frowned and walked towards the door.
Luna saw Elias Warner walking towards her and quickly ran to him.
She went up and hugged Elias Warner’s leg.
"Daddy!"
Daddy?
Renee Perry frowned and glanced at Elias Warner.
"There’s a misunderstanding, I’m not her dad, this child is one I rescued in Breslin, she’s my goddaughter!"
Goddaughter?
Renee Perry looked skeptically at Luna.
"Is that so? Why does this child look so familiar to me?"
Renee Perry’s hand trembled slightly.
Familiar?
When Elias Warner looked at Luna, he saw a bit of Annelise Winter in her face.
Annelise Winter?
Elias Warner frowned.
Could this child be Annelise Winter and Chase Perry’s child?
"Elias, don’t lie to Mom, is the reason you don’t want to marry Sylvia because you have another woman outside? And you’ve even taken this woman’s child as your goddaughter? You better not mess around, if you want a child, just have one of your own!"
"I’ve already said, it’s not what you think! Mom, I need to take this child back now, so I won’t talk to you anymore!"
Elias Warner turned and left.
As he walked to the terrace, he saw Luna with her eyes red from crying.
"Luna, what’s wrong? Why are you crying?"
Elias Warner didn’t know why, but seeing Luna cry made him feel uneasy.
"Daddy, why won’t you acknowledge me? Why did you say you’re not my daddy? But you clearly are my daddy!"
Luna snuffled.
"But I’m not your daddy, you have a dad, haven’t you seen your own dad?"
Elias Warner didn’t understand; could it be that Chase Perry didn’t know about Luna?
Otherwise, as the biological father, how could he not recognize Luna?
Had they never even met?
"But you really are my daddy!" Luna cried again.
"Alright, I’ll still be your daddy, you can come to me if you need anything, but for now, I need to take you back to your mom!"
Elias Warner said.
He carried Luna and approached a ground staff inside The Airline.
"Go find Dr. Winter, and tell her Luna is here!"
"Okay, Captain Warner!"
The ground staff left to find Annelise Winter.
Elias Warner placed Luna on the terrace and said to her, "Daddy has something to do, wait here for Mommy, she’ll be here soon!"
"I understand, Daddy!"
Luna watched Elias Warner’s departing figure and burst into tears.
She thought Elias Warner really didn’t want her anymore.
The ground staff found Annelise Winter and relayed Elias Warner’s words to her.
Annelise Winter rushed to the terrace.
Seeing Luna standing alone on the terrace, she anxiously ran over and scooped Luna into her arms.
"Luna, why are you standing alone on the terrace?"
Annelise Winter asked in confusion, looking around.
She couldn’t see anyone around.
"Mommy, did Daddy ask you to come? Daddy said he had to leave for something!"
"Did you say your daddy asked someone to call me?" Annelise Winter frowned, realizing something was amiss.
"It’s all because of that old witch, who said Daddy should have a child of his own, and Daddy just left me here. Mommy, has Daddy abandoned me?"
Luna started crying again.
Old witch?
Could it be Renee Perry?
So Renee Perry has seen Luna?
Annelise Winter felt a chill down her spine.
If Renee Perry discovered Luna’s existence, what should they do in the future?
"Mommy, why aren’t you speaking? Has Daddy really abandoned me?" Luna desperately wanted to know if Elias Warner truly didn’t want her anymore.
"Luna, don’t call me Mommy, remember what I told you? When you’re outside, don’t call me Mommy! Otherwise, Daddy really won’t want you!"
Annelise Winter felt guilty deceiving such a small child, but if she didn’t, Luna might be discovered by Elias Warner as having a different identity.
Just as Annelise Winter anticipated, Elias Warner was watching from outside the terrace.
"I understand, Mommy!" Luna pouted.
"Now, Mommy will take you away; don’t come out on your own anymore!" Annelise Winter was concerned; Luna was always coming to find her now.
Over time, it would certainly arouse suspicion.
Annelise Winter led Luna off the terrace.
"Where are you going?" A cold voice startled Annelise Winter and Luna.
