Last Ruler Of The Empty Throne-Chapter 104: Arrival
The sky was getting dark,
Finally, Alexa and Ga’al were in a familiar area. Looking into the distance the camp’s entrance could be seen.
After over three hours of running, killing zombies and monsters, they finally reached the camp. And they weren’t in perfect conditions either, after everything that happened, they too were so tired.
Large and small cuts were all over them, their clothes and bodies were already soaked with blood, some still even flowing through their wounds at the moment.
So, as they approached the entrance of the camp, they didn’t even notice the dead monsters that lay dead all over the floor.
They didn’t even notice the workers who were trying to gather the cores and orbs from the carcasses.
And they didn’t even notice the workers backing away from them and running towards the evolvers at the gate.
"W-What’s that"
"C-Could it be a monster."
"They can’t be?"
After getting behind the evolvers, the workers began commenting at the approaching figures.
The evolvers and the policemen at the gate had already started moving closely to the figures. However, before they could continue, Julius shouted,
"EVERYBODY STOP"
The evolvers and policemen then looked at him in confusion, looking at the figures again they were still approaching.
It could get dangerous if they didn’t do anything, and Julius wasn’t even going to explain to them.
He grabbed the walkie-talkie from his waist and spoke,
"Julius from gate, Julius from gate."
And after a scratching radio sound, a voice responded, "Report."
"I think they have arrived."
That was all he had said, and the connection immediately got cut off.

After the dome cleared off, there was a lot of work the girls had to do.
First, they had to secure the area where the fight occurred. Even after the fight finished, the land had basically become rotten.
The black ground and the air in that area made it almost inhabitable again. So, two divisions were placed to watch the surrounding, prevent anyone from approaching and to report any occurrence that happened.
Then, they had to recount the survivors, account for both the losses of both resources and survivors.
Not all survivors turned into zombies but fell into the hands of the zombies. Meaning they also had to calm the minds of the remaining survivors who were scared.
Finally, there was restructuring. Quite a bit of evolvers had died in this crisis, some were the leaders and high-ranking members, so with no one to order them.
A rough and quick promotion was done for the remaining evolvers left.
There were also little matters like people fighting, stealing or raping around. However, without wasting time, those people were killed.
They couldn’t afford to treat matters like that, when they were bigger issues to attend to.
Following what Jon had said, in the event of crisis, anyone using the situation to their benefits would be killed. At first, it sounded harsh, why would just that decide their fate.
However, in this crisis, they were thanking him their minds that this was the rule.
Jenny, Cynthia, Nancy and the regiment commanders couldn’t even see each other except through the walkie-talkies.
The work to be doe was so much they had to call back Laura from watching the gate situation.
And it was as they were doing their duties, Cynthia received a message from the gate, "I think they have arrived."
As she cut off, she connected through the walkie-talkie again.
"They’ve arrived." And without waiting, she left some orders and ran towards the gate area. It was obvious who she spoke to, and they too left orders and began moving towards the gate.
Before long, Jenny, Cynthia and Laura arrived at the gate.
Spreading their senses, they could see the approaching figures. However, why were they seeing two figures instead of three.
The girls looked at each other nervously and immediately ran to the approaching direction.
WHOOSH
Cynthia was the first to arrive, then Laura and Jenny arrived a second later. Cynthia immediately went to assist Alexa, and the two girls approached Gar’al.
They helped them sit on the ground.
"Ha...it’s you guys." Alexa muttered weakly as she released all the fatigue from her body while on the ground.
Hearing her, Cynthia began, "What happened? Where’s Jon?"
However, she couldn’t continue when Alexa collapsed on the ground. The girls began nervous, however after checking she was still fine, they looked at Gar’al.
Then, he pointed at the cube behind him.
Only now did they notice the cube and since it was transparent, they could see Jon through it.
However, they still couldn’t settle their minds after seeing him in that state.
Now they asked Gar’al the questions, "What happened? How did you guys become like this?" It had to be known, Jon had slaughtered first realm when he was an unranked, so getting to the first realm, they literally became test subjects for him and get stronger in the process.
So for him to return this way, something really dangerous must have happened.
However, Gar’al too was tired to answer their questions, so all he could do was release Jon to the ground and muttered, "Second, Second realm."
Then, he collapsed, and the girls’ eyes widened.
They froze in their place as they heard what he said. It was easy to piece the remaining story just from his words.
"I-Impossible" Jenny shook her head after thinking about it for a while.
She couldn’t believe it. They barely been able to survive the zombies, then came the new monsters, then the first realm monsters which they were still struggling with.
And now the next realm of monsters was already arriving. Just how could they keep surviving this ordeal.
They couldn’t just imagine the strength of a monster like that. And, looking at Jon, the one who killed it, they couldn’t help but think, they were lucky to have had him. They didn’t think they could survive without him.
"We can’t let this be known for now." Cynthia finally said. And the girls agreed, if it was known.
The problems it could cause were not something they could deal with at their current level.
"We should be thankful for now." Jenny said, "Now, we should finish our work and find out what happened when they awake."
The thought of a second realm still made them shake even if they hadn’t seen it. Laura picked up her walkie-talkie and spoke,
"We need buses, Victoria and her team."
"On my way," Nancy who was put on standby in the camp replied and got to work.
Before long, buses and cars exited the camp,
VROOOM...VROOOM
After approaching, Victoria and the evolvers with healing skills descended and approached.
"Goodness, what could have happened."
Victoria immediately rushed and began treating them. Unlike the girls, she could see the problems from even a distance.
After a few minutes of treating,
"Are they going to be, okay?" Cynthia asked, especially looking at Jon.
"Yes, we have done the basics. We need to take them in for further treatment. Jon has a..."
Like that, she listed the issues with Jon, Alexa and Gar’al.
After hearing it, the three were put in the buses and they all went back to the camp.
"W-What just happened?"
"I-I don’t even know..."
"Haa..."
From the beginning till the buses entered the camp, the survivors couldn’t understand what was happening.
Everything was moving too fast for them.
It wasn’t even minutes after Julius, the gate head spoke in the walkie-talkie that the legion leaders came out.
For the fact three of the legion leaders moved, it was probably a big deal.
And after a few minutes of what they couldn’t understand was happening buses came out again. And they all entered back into the camp, including the approaching figures they retreated from.
Among them all, it was probably only Julius who knew what was happening, ’Is the leader injured?’ He frowned at the thought of it. Jon was young enough to be his son even if three more years were added to his.
And he was able to protect all of them till this moment, and he was now most likely injured.
’I will follow you.’ After making that vow, he turned his head at the evolvers and workers still acting confused and shouted, "Continue."
With that, he and his men retreated back to patrolling.
Though the survivors and evolvers all had their questions and thoughts, they knew their place. They could only do what they could and leave the rest, and for the fact the leaders of these camp were still students, they could only help in their little way.
So, with no more questions asked and as if they understood Julius’s emotions, they continued their work in silence.
