Legacy Of The Extra-Chapter 21: Progress
Chapter 21 - Progress
-Thwap! Thwap! Thwap!
"No, again, strike again!" Micheal barked as I swung my blade vertically and horizontally performing a flurry of strikes upon the practice dummy in front of me. My hands were marred with rashes and sweat trickled down my whole body.
A week had passed since my training with Micheal and Aunt Josephine—And the progress was great. Given another week, I might be able to go from the High Apprentice Stage to the Low Adept Stage.
Because of that, I might have to increase my goal from Mid Adept to High Adept.
My Mana training with Aunt Josephine and my consistent use of the Needle Pinch technique contributed to my losing a few more kilograms. I took it slow, doing it for about an hour each day. It was Dante's suggestion to help prevent a Mana burst in my body.
As for my swordsmanship, it was going well. My stances and techniques were now ingrained in my muscles and only needed refinements and Micheal also added hand-to-hand combat to my training regime.
But one slight problem was still left—My Aura Awakening.
It's just not even happening. Normally children around my age tend to awaken their aura if they have trained in weapon arts—The only ones who haven't are either mages or scholars. And I am a swordsman, so I should have an Aura already.
But if there was sadness, there would be joy too.
'Show my elements'
Elements- Lightning, ???(Ethan)(Locked), Shadow(Unlocked)>
Yup, I had unlocked my shadow element which is a very rare element found among humans. Only a few people have it and Noah is one of them. But why did he not use it during the game?
The only spell he spammed was Lightning Bolt which would not appear in an amethyst shade like mine but a blue shade like an average lightning user. Well, it is sad to see that a guy with such potential died for some bitch.
[That bitch is your fiancee]
'For me, the engagement is over'
[Hey, you do know that before you entered his body. Noah used to daydream-]
'I don't want to hear it' I replied curtly as my sword swung in a diagonal arc, slashing the dummy in the abdomen.
"Good, that was a good slash," Micheal remarked, his face bore an expression of satisfaction. "That should be enough for today,"
"Thank you, brother," I replied handing the wooden sword over to him.
"Oh, one more thing. If you ever feel any surge of heat in your just remember to tell me, okay?" Micheal said putting the sword away in his storage ring.
"Why?" I asked raising an eyebrow.
"If that happens it means that your Aura is about to awaken,"
Well, that was not mentioned in the game because Raiden already had his Aura awakened at the start.
"Okay, I will tell you"
"Great," He cracked a smile. "Let's go for some booze now, shall we?"
"Again this? Should I call Lady Lyra?" I sneered.
"I will not flirt with any girls. So, can we just go to have some drinks and good food?" His hands clasped as if he was begging.
'Are you really that scared of a woman?' I thought.
[Women are scary Ethan. You don't know when mood spikes occur] Dante jumped in.
'You don't sound like someone who would know about women though' I snorted.
[Neither do you]
'I know, I know'
"Fine," I exhaled, "But let me clean up before we go,"
"Sure," Micheal raised his thumb.
"Oh, what are two planning here?" But before I could head over to the house to clean up, Aunt Josephine's voice rang out from behind me.
"Brother Micheal and I were deciding to visit the tavern for some food," turning around I said, purposefully leaving out the drinks.
She shot a glance at Micheal before turning towards me again, "Make sure he does not flirt with the girls. Or else I am calling Lyra"
"I won't Aunt! You know I am not that sort of a man" He huffed his chest.
"I am just joking, go on you two. I am going to visit the graveyard," She said as she started walking towards the gate.
I watched her depart, her wheat blonde hair tied in a neat bun as a warm shawl covered her back. But why does she visit the graves anyway? She has been always visiting the graveyard and when I first arrived in Rasendorf—I found her in that same graveyard.
"I know what you are thinking Noah," Micheal said placing his hand on my shoulder. "She always visits the graveyard to maintain Aunt Marianne's Grave,"
"Aunt Marianne?" I asked. It was the first time I had ever heard of her and she was Noah's aunt?
"Yes, she was the elder sister of our father and Aunt Josephine," He began, his tone sombre.
"When our grandfather died due to an illness, she was the one who took responsibility for the Blitzfelds on her shoulders. She raised our father and Aunt when they were young—she was like a mother figure to them,"
I listened intently, maybe I can find something to traumatize that shitty father.
His eyes dropped as if remembering that memory was painful for him, "I remember she used to play with me when I was young. Well, you can say that she raised me but soon she also fell ill. It was a sickness no one knew of and..."
His voice trailed off but I could understand what he wanted to say—the outcome was obvious—she died.
"Did she ever get married?" I asked.

"That is a weird thing to ask but yes she was married to someone but I don't remember him well" His fist clenched, "He left her to die,"
'So a shitty husband. Can these nobles be normal?' Well who am I to judge, my father from Earth was also a piece of shit. He might've lost his job but that is not an excuse to beat your wife and child. I wish I could kill but he just disappeared one day and now I am in Elmar.
"Anyway, let's clean up and get going," He suggested trying to brighten the mood.
"Yeah but remember no flirting,"
"I Know!"
...
...
Both Micheal and I arrived in front of a tavern whose name was...
"Buggy Booze?" I mumbled, "What the fuck is that name?"
"The owner's name is Buggy and he is a nice guy so treat him well," Micheal said nudging me with his elbow.
He was wearing a plain white shirt that accentuated his muscular physique along with a black trouser. His face was so striking that any woman would fond over him—Which was a problem but not for me. But for Lyra, his fiancee.
As for me, I was wearing a black shirt with a black trouser because I had no proper and had to borrow it from Micheal. As for my looks...
It did increase but still, how much charm does Micheal have?
I don't stand a chance and we both come from the same family. Looks like I will be average in looks for both lives.
'You are encouraging me?'
And this guy was sour like Dante too, huh?
[Ahem, I am not that sour] Dante remarked.
'Yeah right'
Releasing a sigh I followed Micheal inside the Tavern. It was a bit different from the Tavern that was in Rasendorf—it was an indoor tavern and it also functioned as an Inn.
-creak. Jingle.
Micheal opened the door and the bell attached made a sound alerting the owner of our arrival. The Tavern was filled with a few people and a man stood behind a counter polishing a few mugs. There were six sets of wooden tables and chairs organised neatly for a countryside tavern.
"Welcom- Wait, isn't it you, Sir Micheal?" The man in his late 40s jumped up from behind the counter. "What can we do for you?"
"Hello, Sir Buggy, me and my brother would like to have some good food and your specially made booze," Micheal said cracking a smile.
'This guy smiles a lot'
[You should try it too. Keeps the negativity away] Dante snorted.
Ignoring him I sat on a nearby empty table. Micheal also followed suit after greeting a few people who talked with him very happily—This guy is the ultimate enemy of introverts like me.
"Alicia! Get sir Micheal and his Brother?"
"Noah," I said curtly.
"Sir Noah, some of our special Juniper Berry booze,"
"Yes, father!" A girl shouted from behind the bar.
Ignoring their shouting, I leaned towards Micheal and asked, "What did my Great brother do here that people like him so much?"
"Oh well, I killed some Mana beasts that were terrorizing them, that's all," He said stretching his body.
"I see," Saying that I rested my back on the chair waiting for the food and drinks to come.
