Legendary Architect of Apocalypse-Chapter 68: Chaos in the middle
A storm started materializing around Elias, with the sword at its core. The storm was so strong that even if Elias was holding the sword, his body was being pushed back with such force that it made him feel as if he was also being ripped apart by the fierce.
Even clothes were being torn apart by the storm, and more scars started appearing on his body as the winds grew truly violet this time, cutting through his skin.
More than the pain, he seemed to be worried about his clothes and the thing that was in his pocket. He quickly placed his hand in his pocket before they were torn apart, and grabbed the growth stone and the insignia of the family
He held the two objects like his life depended on it, even as the remnants of his clothes flew off, leaving him completely bare in the storm.
Amidst the sound of winds, he also heard another sound that he hadn’t heard during any extraction process before. He could hear the painful cries of the ego, which seemed to be roaring like a wild beast.
As he had only performed extraction on lifeless things, he didn’t know that the extraction process placed such a burden on the materials that were being extracted.
The painful cries continued for a long time, until they went completely silent. And after another half an hour, the storm also disappeared, giving Elias an opportunity to catch his breath.
He fell on his knees, in front of a block of metal that had materialized after extraction. Next to the block, he also saw a small crystal sphere.
.....
Star Metal: Extraction Successful.
Ego: Extraction Successful.
.....
He sighed in relief, looking at the information about the successful extraction. Both materials had survived. He picked up the two objects and walked over to the fighter jet, not caring about his scars or the fact that he was naked.
He placed the two objects on the plane’s body. This time, he also placed his insignia and the growth stone on the plane before walking away to complete the final extraction with the watch.
He walked away from the plane, traveling farther this time, before starting another extraction. The process was much less painful and shorter.
The winds were also less fierce than before, which made him wonder if the pain was only present when he extracted things that possessed intelligence.
What if he was someday able to extract true life? How painful would it be? That question appeared in his mind as he compared the experiences of these two extractions.
.....
Eliestus Metal: Extraction Successful
Teleportation Stone: Extraction Successful
Detection Stone: Extraction Failed
Chronarium Crystal: Extraction Failed
Voidsteel: Extraction Failed
Hide of Phase Panther: Extraction Failed
Starlight Glass: Extraction Successful
.....
The failure rate was much higher this time, but Elias didn’t feel bad. The material he truly wanted had been successfully extracted.
He had received the Teleportation Stone. The only problem was that it was a very small quantity, only the size of a watermelon seed. The other materials were also in very low quantities, as they were extracted from a small watch.
He wasn’t completely confident that they would actually affect the plane to that extent, but he picked them up anyway. Using them was better than not using them.
If it was a normal situation, and he had more of such materials, he would have thought about doing a trial and error to come up with a better combination, but for now, he decided to use them all.
He placed all those materials on the plane. After that, the first thing he did was take back his family Insignia and Growth Stone, scared that he might accidentally merge them with the plane if he forgot.
"Confirm Merger," he instructed, reaching the final step.

.....
Please select the materials for the merger.
.....
Elias started tapping each of the materials that he wanted to merge. And the materials that he selected had a small red dot appear on them as a marker, which was also something that he hadn’t noticed before.
Once he finished the selection, he stopped and stepped back.
....
Materials selected for merger: X-86 Fighter Jet, Essence of Lightning, Dust of Creation, Star Metal, Eliestus Metal, Teleportation Stone, Starlight Glass, Ego.
Material Compatibility: 64 Percent
Merger Success Probability: 76 Percent
Would you like to proceed?
....
"Even if it’s not the highest probability I’ve received, it’s not half bad. Proceed with the merger."
After confirming the merger, he quickly ran back, unaware of the storm that was about to be unleashed by combining so many high-tier materials. He didn’t want to be blown away by it.
He ran as far as he could, and as fast as he could, feeling the winds around him become unstable. The storm was intensifying and showed no signs of stopping.
Fortunately, it wasn’t strong enough to affect the hundreds of thousands of pounds of beast beneath their feet, a creature that didn’t even have flesh.
After reaching as far as he could, he turned around and lied down on the ground, to further reduce the wind force that was acting against his body. He remained on his belly, and raised his head, trying to look at the storm.
He could see lightning flickering inside the storm, another first time experience with a merger. The storm was truly dangerous, which made him feel that he truly might have died if he was at the core of that storm.
The winds grew so strong that he was having a hard time keeping his eyes open, as tears started coming down the corner of his eyes that started turning red. In the end, he couldn’t keep watching and closed his eyes, placing his head on the ground as well, letting the storm rage around.
....
In the central region of the Land of Fables, another chaos was brewing. A young man in his twenties resided within a grand palace.
A scar ran across his face, starting at the top right of his forehead and extending as far down as it could go on the left side. On his chest was another scar that was even deeper. This one seemed to form a symbol resembling an ouroboros devouring its own tail.
Next to the man was a table covered with hundreds of sharp knives. One after another, he picked up the knives from the table and tossed them forward.
Each knife flew straight toward a portrait hanging on the wall, which already had hundreds of knives stabbed into it, making it quite hard to even see the portrait clearly.
