Chapter 45: Attack My Finger

Krisha took the chance to guide Felix how to wear the storage ring and made it recognized him as his owner.

Once Felix was successful, just by closing his eyes while communicating with the storage ring, he strangely discerned the content inside. At will, he could tell the storage ring what to summon.

He tried various materials that was enclosed with a capsule. He got addicted to the point Krisha had to stop him.

"You’re already playing around. We should leave now. I’m already feeling hungry."

Felix nodded and turned towards the examiner, who also glanced at his subordinate.

His subordinate then walked towards Felix and handed his licensed ID.

Felix accepted it with a wide smile as he put it in his wallet. His wallet has many IDs but he purposely left the main ID holder for the Beast Tamer license.

He dreamed of obtaining it and now it has become reality.

The reward was so euphoric he was already looking forward for more dreams to achieve.

After Felix chatted a bit with the examiners, they finally left the Beast Tamer Association to have a joyful meal.

...

They ate in the same restaurant as before. They ate a heartfelt meal, desserts and more, causing them to last for hours.

They treated the lunch as a joyous celebration for finally becoming a beast tamer.

Even PengPeng and Moon was eating on the table specifically for them. Felix already fed Moon with the food he bought.

Watching Krisha eating with PengPeng and moving his gaze at Moon, he had never expected that the second time they returned to the same restaurant, he would brought his beast pet with him.

Lucia congratulated him, and she and Krisha assured him they would keep his results within themselves.

Honestly, Felix didn’t care. Humanity were fighting against another race, the possibility of harming him while being a future Beast Tamer Monarch was slim to none, right?

Nevertheless, Felix didn’t treat the examiner’s warning lightly.

Once they finished the lunch, they returned to the Azure Cleave Dojo.

As soon as they entered, the same two guards earlier bowed towards them, as the other one said in a polite tone, "Master Shen asked for Senior Felix’s presence once he returned."

Felix and Krisha glanced at each other.

Krisha said, "I don’t think I’m still needed. So, I’ll return to my room and continue to study the sword art."

Felix nodded. "Good luck and take care. If you have more inquiries, you can ask me later once I return."

Krisha nodded and left.

Felix, on the other hand, proceeded to Canal Pavilion.

As soon as he arrived, he saw Master Shen in the same position before, gazing at the water canal below him.

Felix silently arrived beside him, waiting for him to come out from his reverie on his own.

Just as he thought Master Shen was completely distracted, he suddenly smiled and said, "The water element radiating from your sword... How envious. Even when Master Vey can produce a sword like that, I still perceive that its potential far overshadowed any of his masterpiece creation."

Felix bowed deeply towards him. "Greetings, Master Shen. Thank you for your words."

"Mhm." Master Shen slightly nodded.

"You also broke through to three minor ranks after you’ve received your sword, huh?"

"Yes, Master Shen. My sword’s energy reached similar to Unique rank, so the moment I grabbed hold of it, I got a share of its energy, just enough for my body to handle at the moment."

"Indeed. Not a single beast tamer made a rapid successive minor rank breakthrough. This is the first time I’ve witnessed it in my own eyes. You sure are a peculiar existence."

Felix smiled awkwardly, not certain whether to take it as a compliment or not.

Silence ensued for a while until Master Shen said, "I’ve heard you challenged my disciples before you leave."

Felix was taken aback. His heart thumped. Scratching his cheeks, he cleared his throat.

"T-The thing is... I was challenging myself. Rather than chasing for obstacles, I feel like it’s better to attract them."

Master Shen smiled and slid his gaze off the water canal and glanced at the butterfly hovering in mid-air.

He watched as the butterfly flew through the water canal and vanished.

He said, "A butterfly effect."

Felix’s eyebrows raised.

Master Shen turned silent after saying those two words.

Felix pondered. Butterfly effect? What is that?

He asked, "What do you mean, Master Shen?"

Master Shen said, "Just be careful."

He suddenly stood up and turned towards Felix.

He brought his right arm forward, with his palm facing on Felix.

Felix understood his gesture. He unsheathed his sword, assuring Rain that a master simply wanted to know more about him, and handed him to Master Shen.

The moment Master Shen grasped the hilt of the sword, his right arm trembled.

He smiled. "Quite a fine sword."

Felix smiled and nodded, gazing at Rain.

Rain sensed how elated Felix after the person grasping him complimented him and he was delighted, too.

Hence, he became unworried.

Master Shen brought Rain closer and inspected his body.

He mumbled. "Exquisite. Sharp. One sharp edge. Calm. Can be Chaotic."

He gazed at Felix and asked, "What’s his name?"

"Rain."

"Rain..." Master Shen smiled. "I like it. It suits him well."

Felix was quite surprised that Master Shen did not misgender Rain.

Any person who saw Rain, heard his name, would instantly thought he was a female.

Felix thought. As expected of Master Shen, not only he refined his sword technique, his understanding of the sword is comparable to a blacksmith, like Master Vey.

As Felix fell into deep thought, Master Vey returned the sword into him.

He also glanced at Moon and his ambiguous expression suddenly turned into amusement.

"I didn’t think you’d choose a two star beast as your first beast pet. You can’t afford three star?"

Felix was dumbfounded.

Before he was able to react, Moon, who believed Master Shen was mocking her, growled at at him.

Master Shen chuckled. "She’s still a kitten, but she’s already aggressive. She’s not ordinary."

Perceiving like Master Shen was complimenting her, Moon was satisfied and simmered down.

Of course, she was mostly afraid of getting scolded by her master.

Master Shen glanced at Felix and raised his index sword.

He said, "Attack my finger using Rain."

Master Shen challenged Felix, not simply because he wanted to discern Rain’s sharpness.

He also wanted to learn if Felix also had a breakthrough on his sword technique...
