Chapter 49: Krisha’s Frustrations

Felix walked towards Rain and caressed the hilt.

He said, "I’ll be leaving now. Don’t worry, I’ll return. If you get anxious, meditate. You know how to meditate, right?"

Rain responded with a hum.

Felix beamed a smile. "Alright."

He turned around and left his room, not without giving an assured glance at Rain before closing the door.

...

There was till a quarter left before the Mist Courtyard Ramble would begin and Felix was already waiting outside the platform.

There were no instructors present, but there were already outer disciples gathered around, aiming to ascend through the ranks.

To become an inner disciple, one must reach the Top 15. To have a better life in Azure Cleave Dojo while being an outer disciple, one must reach Top 30, at least.

Approximately, including those disciples who were currently on leave, or while on a mission, there were a hundred and fifty disciples in the Azure Cleave Dojo.

Learning martial arts wasn’t popular, to begin with. In fact, only Master Vey popularized it in the Chambers City.

Even the city mayor didn’t learn any martial arts and purely relied on his beast pet, which also granted him powers to defend himself.

For the upper-class, learning martial arts for their young ones were only to train their body to have a better chance in summoning a higher stars beasts.

For the middle-class and below, entering a dojo was only to obtain a credibility to be fit for the army.

That was why it was free for middle-class and below to enter the dojo as the government would cover the cost.

It was also worth the investment, after all.

It was exactly the reason Master Shen established a rank for disciples—the higher the rank, the better the treatment received.

As a result, every disciple treated each other as a competition.

Felix, while crossing his arms and gazing intently at the platform, assessing the space while creating scenarios on his head, inevitably caught the attention of other disciple.

They mumbled from time to time, wanting to know Felix’s identity.

It was the first time they saw him around and for some reason he was now wearing an inner disciple uniform.

They thought at first he was at the Commander rank since there was no beast pet around him, but the energy exuded from a Commander rank was apparent.

Just as they wondered who he was, a famous figure in the Chambers City suddenly appeared and began to walk towards Felix.

Their eyes widened. That’s Krisha Chambers!

Eventually, one of the outer disciple finally recognized Felix and they immediately spread it to others.

Ceaseless mumbling began to resonate outside of the Mist Courtyard Ramble. Intense gazes filled with hatred landed at Felix.

The moment Krisha arrived beside Felix, she lightly punched his side and said, "You didn’t even inform me you’re already here."

Felix grunted and rolled his eyes after hearing Krisha complained. He already has an idea she would punch him, so he let her be to lessen her dissatisfaction.

He replied, "I don’t want to disturb you. I thought you were practicing the sword techniques."

Krisha shrugged. "Well, I did. But I don’t want to miss the chance seeing you fighting others. Thankfully, I already know you’ll fight today."

She glanced at the wooden sword on Felix’s waist and said, "How is Rain? Is he okay? Ar you also getting used to the wooden sword now after receiving him?"

Felix grabbed the hilt of his wooden sword and replied, "Kind of. Later might be the perfect chance for me to fully solidify my foundation in my sword technique."

"Right. You’ve gained enlightenment. What levels did you reach?"

"Max level on the first stage."

Krisha’s eyes widened. She has yet to reach level 1 of her sword techniques and Felix has already maxed his.

She clenched her fists tightly and thought. There’s now an obvious difference in our current power. He could easily defeat me even with the help of PengPeng.

Truth to be told, after seeing Felix fighting against the six lynx all by himself, she knew Felix was already way stronger than her.

However, she thought it was only because of Rain. Now that he was using his wooden sword, she believed there would still be a chance.

It vexed her greatly.

She tried to simmer down by focusing at the platform and replied, "I see. You can easily defeat them, then."

Felix nodded. "Mhm."

For the next minutes, Krisha took this chance to inquire on her questions about her sword technique, hoping for an enlightenment.

Felix answered her with the help of Guide. 𝚏𝗿𝗲𝐞𝐰𝚎𝕓𝐧𝚘𝘃𝗲𝐥.𝐜𝚘𝕞

However, Krisha mistook it as his owned knowledge about her sword technique, causing her to be quite frustrated, knowing that Felix could easily surpass her again if he was practicing her sword technique.

Frustrated, she turned silent, just in time for the instructor to appear from the platform as it was surrounded with mists, causing Felix to be unaware of Krisha’s current emotional state.

He appeared tall and lean, with his hands behind his back. He appeared dignified and every of his steps were deliberate and difficult to follow.

While gazing at him, Felix knew he wouldn’t stand a chance in a duel between sword fighting.

He thought. He might have develop sword qi now, so I really can’t defeat him.

It would be undeniable that Felix was quite excited to improve his sword technique to develop his sword qi.

The Instructor swept his gaze around and was quite surprised to see Felix.

He beamed a smile at him and nodded, compelling Felix to reciprocate his greetings.

Their brief interactions inevitably caught the attention of other outer disciples, causing them to wonder why the strict instructor developed an amiable attitude to Felix.

The Instructor coughed and said, "I’m Albert West, Instructor of the Mist Courtyard. I assume everyone gathered here wanted to participate in the ramble, right?"

Every outer disciples, including Felix, nodded.

Albert smiled. "That’s good to know. Alright, without further ado, anyone who wants to go first, step up in the platform."

Krisha turned towards Felix and was about to say something when Felix didn’t dilly-dally and leapt towards the platform.
