Legendary FBI Detective-Chapter 100: Find the Bald Caucasian Man
Noon, Jacob Federation Building.
Reed pushed open the door of the office area for Team Five and shouted loudly as he entered:
"Everyone, I'm back!"
The agents from Team Five, upon hearing his voice, all stood up and walked over with smiles to give William a hug.
William slapped Reed's back hard:
"Welcome back, Reed!"
"Don't say that, William."
Reed gently patted William's back, then rolled his eyes and said:
"I was only gone for two days, not two years."
William smiled and didn't say much. Reed looked around, didn't see Luo An and Reesi, and tilted his head to ask:
"Where are Luo An and Reesi?"
"They've gone to do a facial composite."
Mona handed Reed a cup of coffee on the side and briefly summarized the events of the past two days, finally saying:
"They've been gone all morning, they should be back soon."
"OK."
After listening to Mona's summary, Reed nodded his head, returned to his workstation, and prepared to wait for Luo An's return as he had something to discuss with him.
Reed wasn't completely aware of what exactly happened that day; the toxicity of fentanyl was too great, and before he could respond, he started feeling light-headed, and the next second, he couldn't control his muscles and collapsed on the ground.
However, before Reed completely lost consciousness, he felt Luo An jumping down the stairs, rushing to his side.
But what happened next, with Luo An giving him a dose of medicine, Reed didn't feel.
At that time, according to his own words, Reed had "seen the bearded God waving at him".
Later, when Reed woke up, staring at the hospital room ceiling, it took him a while to distinguish if it was real or not.
It was only after Yvonne slapped him hard on the face that Reed knew he actually survived and didn't meet God.
Those two SWAT team members who carried him to the ambulance, Reed went to their homes last night to thank them very formally.
The one who truly saved Reed's life, however, was Luo An.
According to Yvonne's understanding, Luo An wasn't the one who personally took Reed on the ambulance.
But Reed, who had been wandering in combat for years and had only recently joined the FBI, felt as though Luo An was the real savior.
Although he didn't know why he had this feeling, Reed chose to trust his own intuition. He was now very eager to express his gratitude to Luo An.
"Everyone! The facial composite is ready!"
Reed had not been sitting for a couple of minutes when Reesi and Luo An strode in.
Reesi, holding several large portraits, shouted loudly:
"This guy is the one we need to find next!"
"OK!"
"No problem!"
The technical staff of Team Five boisterously agreed, took the portraits from Reesi's hands, and sat in front of the computers to start typing.
"Luo An, Reesi."
Upon hearing his name called and immersed in his thoughts, Luo An first paused, then raised his head and realized it was Reed, instantly revealed a big smile and gave a hearty hug:
"Welcome back, buddy! I didn't expect you to come back to work today; didn't Augustus give you a long break?"
Reesi didn't hug the muscular Reed; she just happily punched his arm and high-fived him.
Reed was well aware of who Reesi was, and he didn't mind such a small thing as not getting a hug.
Hearing Luo An's words, Reed was just about to say something seriously when suddenly William shouted loudly from the side:
"Everyone, this Kevin probably hasn't been in prison.
We can't find anyone resembling Kevin in the photos of prisoners from several major prisons in the New York Region!"
At this point in time, facial recognition technology was not very mature, and only a few could be checked, for the most part, those in the FBI database were people who had been in prison.
After all, they were photographed before entering prison.
For ordinary people left out, the current facial recognition systems were mostly useless most of the time.
It was not until 2015 that America began promoting facial recognition boarding policies at national airports, and the FBI's databases gradually enriched.
Of course, these databases refer to the criminal databases, and there are other internal databases within the FBI, but ordinary agents have no access to them.
"Let's check the prisons in other areas then."
Upon hearing William's words, Luo An frowned and said:
"Several states surrounding New York, Vermont, Massachusetts, Connecticut, Pennsylvania, New Jersey, we can check them all."
"O...K."
Hearing Luo An's words, William and the other four technical agents twitched the corners of their mouths but still bowed their heads and got busy.
Seeing William and others starting to work, Luo An turned his gaze back to Reesi and asked with a tilted head:
"Reesi, what were you about to say?"
"…Nothing."
Seeing everyone busy, Reesi swallowed what he wanted to say and then grinned, patting Luo An on the shoulder:
"I was just thinking about inviting you over for dinner after work today."
"OK."
Upon hearing this, Luo An's lips curled into a smile, and he immediately nodded in agreement.
Someone invited me for dinner last night, and tonight again...
Luo An smiled and turned his gaze towards Mona.
Should I freeload a meal at her place the day after tomorrow?
Mona suddenly shivered, feeling as if something ominous was targeting her.
As time slowly moved forward, the sound of keyboards in the office area continued, but the Number Five Investigation Team didn't find the person in the portrait named Kevin.

During the process, William and others did find a few individuals who looked very similar to the person in the portrait.
But upon closer inspection, either there was a witness proving that the person was with them during the time of the bank robbery, or the person had long left New York, lacking both the ability and the opportunity to commit the crime.
"This..."
Mona grabbed the coffee beside her and took a big gulp, then massaged her slightly aching fingers and tilted her head towards Luo An:
"Is there a possibility that the two women misremembered Kevin's appearance, or the portrait artist made a mistake?"
"It's not impossible, but…"
Luo An stroked his chin, pondering for a long time before pulling out his phone and dialing Norton's number.
"Luo An?"
The voice on the other end of the line was noisy, clearly indicating that Norton wasn't in the federal building.
"Good afternoon, Norton."
Luo An briefly greeted him, cutting straight to the chase about the current situation of not finding the person.
"Simple!"
Hearing Luo An's question, Norton chuckled lightly and said directly:
"Send that simulated portrait over to our Organized Crime Investigation Division.
As long as the portrait is accurate and not too different from the real person, I can find this person for you very quickly!"
Norton waved his hand; their Organized Crime Investigation Division had special contacts with many gangs in New York.
Finding people was something they had done many times before, and for them, it was nothing challenging.
Of course, not just anyone could enlist the help of the Organized Crime Investigation Division.
Those who weren't well-connected were flatly ignored by the division.
"Thank you, Norton."
"No need to thank me!"
Norton chuckled, and after arranging to go fishing with Luo An over the weekend, he hung up the phone.
"I'll go."
As soon as the call ended, without waiting for Luo An to speak, Reesi picked up the portrait, grinned at Luo An, and strode out of the Number Five Investigation Team.
It was unclear what means the Organized Crime Investigation Division used, but just three hours later, Reesi returned to the Number Five Investigation Team, also bringing back a piece of paper with rough information about the person in the simulated portrait:
Fletcher Walker, 29 years old, lives in Queens.
After pulling up all the information on this Fletcher, Mona's face was expressionless, and she spread her hands:
"No wonder we couldn't find him, this man was practically a boy scout two months ago!"
Hearing this, Luo An was startled:
"What do you mean?"
